This chapter had a little too much Choji in it …. lots of flashback about him and lots of him not fighting because he is a wuss... well at least at the end he man up a little and grew...butterfly wings (got to admit that the fact that he did it without the pills is kind of interesting)

I didn't think this chapter was too bad. Definitely not good, but not terrible. I say this mostly because the artwork at the end with Choji was fairly impressive. Who would have thought Kishi would draw something halfway decent in this war.

I think it was an okay chapter. Nothing that special, but I definately prefer to see Chouji rather than Sauce or Naruto. I wonder if the earring thing was planned or not.
I'm not sure what to think about Butterfly!Chouji though. :/

I went back to read team 7 reunion. To my greates surprise, it is not that bad when you compare it to the pile of crap we had with this "war".
Basically, even the crappy Itachi vs Sasuke looks like gold to the current arc.
Can the series go even more rock bottom than rock bottom ?

there part of his clans power doesn't really explain why, but I take this stuff with a grain of salt, since one piece is my favorite manga and asura's pretty fucking random and unexplained, (regardless of how you try to make sense of it) just can't have it happening all the time, (which this series does) but since it's from part 1 I'm fine since part 1 is one of my favorite mangas ever (sad I have to separate the two in my mind)

URGENT, URGENT NEWS BULLETIN!
Crazy news coming out of Japan today via AFJapan, due to the declining fan ratings of the Naruto series, Shonen Jump gave Naruto series author Masashi Kishimoto 10 chapters to wrap the series up. After declaring that he could not finish the series in such a short time frame, he spoke with the current Editor in Chief of the magazine. The two men got into a loud verbal disagreement, resulting in Kishimoto being escorted from the building by security. Just hours later, Shonen Jump released an official statement saying he’s no longer employed by the company:
On Friday we gave notice to Masashi Kishimoto that we would be terminating his employment with Shonen Jump magazines. Kishimoto leaves Shonen Jump after 12 years with the company. Due to a contract disgreement, Shonen Jump and Kishimoto have terminated their relationship. We appreciate his contributions to our organization and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Shonen Jump’s Naruto will continue to run weekly with a scheduled end date in chapter 550.
Shonen Jump is happy to announce that through a joint promotion with Kodansha Limited, Blazer Drive mangaka Seishi Kishimoto will take over for his twin brother for the remaining issues. Naruto will go on a temporary hiatus to allow for the new artist team to settle in to the series and resolve existing plots using outlines and notes left by original series author Masashi Kishimoto. New series author Seishi Kishimoto has released the following statement: “To all the fans of the series, I’m sorry to see my brother go, but I will make him proud and give the series the ending it deserves! The story of Uzumaki Naruto is not over yet, you’ll love what final surprises there are in store for Naruto and his friends!”
Frankly this sounds horrible, at least they’ve given them 17 chapters to resolve the story rather than the 10 Masashi Kishimoto was originally limited to. I have to think the different final numbers (10 versus 17 chapters) comes from having to get a new team in place to finish things out or that the initial leaked news of only 10 was incorrect. It could also be that Kishimoto already has the next 7 chapters already drawn. I’m also not the biggest fan of Seishi Kishimoto, but at least his art style is similar enough to Masashi’s that it shouldn’t be too jolting a change. -
Yeah. Thing is about Ap ril Fo ols Jo kes is that they have to be believable.
Naruto's fan ratings (sadly) haven't declined in the slightest.

Kishi leaving was obviously an April Fool's joke. The context is someone lost by no one seeing the post till 5 days later. Anyway, there's just enough time to figure out what song to close the thread with, but… better figure it out fast. And remember, after this thread closes out, we have to finish off thread 10 properly before we can go onto 11.
(Of course, I have a meeting to deal with today for a couple hours, so I'll probably either leave just as its starts, get back just as its ending, or miss out entirely, but I can clean it up later...)
