That chapter was alright…at least ultear wasn't taken down with crappy team work.
I did facepalm however when natsu said "secret technique" cause now we all know that it's not a secret it's what he's improvising on the spot.

When it starts off its pretty good, nothing spectacular but a competent shonen manga. It isn't until the Oraceon Seis arc that things start to get pants on head stupid. I think what pisses most people off though is that from time to time Fairy Tail shows a glimpse of potential but then almost imedeately jumps back into the pool of fan service and tired shonen cliche's.And the pool is riddled with plot holes.

Really liking the filler arc in the anime. Although I don't get why they wanted to do a fake dragon when it's going to happen in the next arc. But still interesting, even if Daphne is a pyscho annoying bitch.
My only real problem is how Gajeel mysteriously vanished. I thought for sure he was going to get a badass moment here. But at least Elfman and the others got to do some cool stuff.

Yeah, don't care for overly excessive or underage fanservice at all. Or all of that ''imouto'' pandering, which really makes me seethe because unlike the target demographic for that kind of stuff, I actually have a younger sister.

Honestly, the fanservice in FT isn't too bad usually. Although there are chapters like this one where he does go out of his way to show off Lucy's boobs and ass, but it could be worse I guess. And I'm not gonna lie that I enjoy the fanservice usually, but it could easily be left out and have no effect on the series.

Yeah, but the thing is, the first two episodes of the arc had him and he had a look on his face like he was going to be involved somehow later.

I'd hate to feel like iMustang, but I enjoyed this chapter.
In spite of it's flaws, it ended in a neat way to me. Even Happy got to get in on the action.

Ha! I'm not even mad. Nope, nothing wrong with this chapter at all. Lucy and Natsu get to be funny, Kain ultimately get to be funny and look pretty tough in the end, and Happy actually gets to do something. I reread the Demon Island arc recently, and I realize I miss his comic relief!
I also like that this leaves someone else to fight Ultear. I was afraid that Natsu would beat two GH members before whatever his ultimate final opponent is.

I concur, it would also keep up with the tradition of Grey fighting enemies originally meant for Natsu, despite never getting to actually fight him.
Sadly this means Natsu does indeed fight Hades.
By the way the chapter was funny, not good or bad, just made me smile.

Now I imagined Grey fighting….imagination man (I don't regret forgetting his name) since both can create objects from the air except Grey uses ice. Their abilities are just slightly similar form what I see. Yet, I like your idea better.
I still don't believe that Natsu will fight Hades. He's not surpassing the guild leader (and in effect his rival Erza). I see more of a group battle against Hades.

that means nothing. lets take a couple quick examples
lets say you can handle fire up to 1000 degrees. zancrow's fire is only 900 degress, natsu's fire is 750 degress. When they got combined like that it bumbed it up to 1100 degrees. boom zancrow can no longer handle it
combining two things can also have strange effects. learn a bit of chemistry quick
hell look at carbon and oxygen. both harmless elements, but when combined can make CO2, also harmless, or CO (carbon monoxide) which is very poisonous. or how about taking two very dangerous chemicals sodium and chlorine and mixing them. and tadda, we have common table salt.

A bit surprise that this guy took the attack without being able to dodge it.. I mean he was able to dodge a surprise attack from natsu by doing the split but he could not evade this fire lucy that he saw coming from afar …

Feeling like me isn't such a bad thing
lolI just really enjoy this series so I'm rarely disappointed by it. It's not as if I go out of my way to like it or anything. In this arc I've already been disappointed by a few things, like Cana being a horrible character or Makarov going down easily (though still being a beast). But it's like One Piece, even if there are minor things that disappoint I still love the series overall. And like Fairy Tail, One Piece is very rare to disappoint me.
