According to Wikipedia, the 3ds will have regional lock, but only 3 regions. Japan, America and Europe/Australia will be one.

Will be 6(or 12?) new characters I read? Which are confirmed? (In spoiler)
In Spring 2011 will be the JP, USA or EUR game? xD
Thanks, I'm a fan of OPUC, I pass the 100% of UC 1 and 2, and you know that to pass the 100% of UC 2 you must play hundreds of hours xD, and I love the vs mode. -

Yup - It's a tough choice - either I get a European 3DS, get Gigant Battle PAL (which still looks pretty nice…never played Ultimate Jump stars anyway...) and then wait patiently for the probable Unlimtied Cruise SP PAL as well - or get a Japanese 3DS - struggle with the menu's, but play SP as soon as it's out -

I'm holding out, its up to the publishers, but i hear Namco-Bandai is a douche.
we will find out in the coming weeks. if not, i'm sure somebody will hack it. Thanks to the wii's region locking, i now have a hacked wii. although, i'm waiting for the EU version of this game.its kind of funny, with 4kids, we got more one piece games, than what FUNimation has given us.

Namco Bandai calls the shots and it's clear that "No TV deal, No Games" is their policy. The ass hats at CN pulled the rug from under Toei who haven't been able to secure anything since these new games. Getting it on shit like the Funimation Channel won't work either.

So since it's not on TV in the UK anymore I suppose it's going off the popularity in France and Germany?

No, the 3DS REGION is locked, DS is region free so all of the DS games will work on any 3DS.
3DS games, however, are region locked.

You're talking about a DS game tho, right? 3DS games will be different.

This is GREAT NEWS. Since we are being screwed over with DS games I recently got DQVI and ordered Radiant Historia and 999 from Americaland. Not to mention the extensive collection I have otherwise. Was worried I wouldn't be able to play em.

well, pokemon black/white eu is region free (i think), so it works with aus DSs (don't know about other DSs). pokemon b/w is region locked though.

Awesome to see these updates! Cheers Luffink~! Nice to see the 3 admirals all together… We've seen it in the Manga as an awesome panel, in the anime as a featured section of the Marineford arc, and now in game format... If only they could rework some of the other arc's...
Can you imagine running around an Impel down themed arc? Eventually getting from the Main gates to the Bridge of Hesitation? Never going to happen though.... but this may open things up for an explorable Amazon Lily maybe, or a open-world area of the stunning Ryuuga Palace/Fishman Island...
I was slightly worried that you'd need to shake the 3DS in order to do the shake attacks... which would have totally destroyed the 3DS-ness as well I'm sure...
And do I detect a one-handed gattling from Luffy? New-ish animations for Bazooka?

I see sengoku and akainu in those marineford pics. Hopefully at least akainu will be in the game playable. I'd be shocked and dismayed if he isn't.

Well, if clothes count as "update", one of the next rebuilt characters will possibly be Crocodile… Smoker has his costume from UA, so I don't think that his one counts as a "new" costume. Blackbeard should have both new costume AND moveset. At least I hope so. And for the totally new characters I vote for Jimbe, Akainu, Magellan and, even if no one proposed him yet (at least from what I saw) Shiki...even if he's from a movie, he was thought for the manga: Sengoku speaks about him in Impel Down saga, and he's been present in the anime through filler and in the last game for DS as an assistant character, so I think he's a good chance (even because he's got quite a spectacular moveset).

Great trailer, even if short, thank you!!! I'm curious to see what the effects of Hancock's special will be, since in game it's quite difficult to have the characters petrified…maybe it'll be something like Aokiji's ice.
Man, I really hope they'll not add Coby as a playable character...at least, make him a common enemy like Gaimon in the Wii version!!! He's such an unuseful weakling!!!! :-/ -
I noticed you have to fight Kizaru and Aokiji together but Akainu is no where in sight.
Edit: I guess they have to limit it to only two.

So it looks like Marineford Mode is really just gonna be a number of fights that happened in the manga. We can see Hancock vs Smoker, Ivankov vs Kuma, Luffy vs Aokiji and Kizaru. I doubt you'll be able to change characters for those fights tho…
But anyways, having a game based on the manga for once is just awesome. Just look at these cutscenes xDDD
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a Fishman Island game from now on ^^ -

if Marineford mode is just playing the Marineford arc exactly its gonna be terrible. >.< Unless you can forcefully kill Ace at any point it's just playing through an arc that we've already seen recently…twice. (and wasn't even THAT good anyways) Wouldn't mind it so much if they did all of OP but just Marineford? Nah.
Hopefully they'll update the actual game some to make it worthwhile. Or make it so you can unlock everyone via boss rush.

i think they'll have some special missions during that mode that don't revolve around the actual story. i remember seeing a screenshot somewhere of ivankov vs. Mr. 2 in a scan all about marineford mode

Because the games are from Asia.
The 3DS is REGION LOCKED
So even if it was something like Nintendogs or Pilotwings it would still say Asia only. To warn people importing.
Lets look at another example.
Catherine was stated by Atlus that they had no plans to release it to the west about 2 weeks ago.
Monday it had a western release date.
Although going from past games. I HIGHLY doubt the US will see UC 3DS.
