I liked this week's chapter.

It was an interesting twist to see that while saying the "Taboo" word guarantees getting sealed, if you stay silent, you get sealed as well. This sorta complicates things when it comes to dealing with the Sage's weapons.

Think about how screwed someone not knowing about the Sage's weapons and how they work would be if they encountered Ginkaku and Kinkaku.

Although I don't really dig one of the other brothers being able to take on the form of the nine tails…I never really liked the whole idea of them living inside the Kyubi's stomach for 2weeks and getting puked out lol, but I can roll with that.

Darui being able to change taboo words while in the process of getting sealed was also intersting too. All in all, Darui is beginning to grow on me, the whole Black Lightning thing is a cool tech, and seeing the flashback with the Raikage and Darui was also touching (My Other Right Arm) too. I like how this war is shaping up, and I wanna see what Darui's gonna do against Kinkaku, now that he's in 9-tails mode.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter, this war is going well so far.

I do believe the fourth was said to be the strongest. Not sure how strong hokage 1 and 2 are in relation to 3rd, but my gut tells me he is stronger than them both.

Naruto is definately the most overrated manga in existence, even more overrated than bleach. In my humble opinion, this series is becoming garbage. It went to hell as soon as shippuden started and gradually got worse as time went on. That so-called ninja war is a pathetic joke. Reincarnating old villains such as deidara, zabuza was not only a dumb idea for plot [whatever's left of it] but also reinforces kishimoto's lack of originality and creativity. It is also a sign that kishimoto has run out of ideas so much to the point that he has to reuse and recycle dead characters.

I also suspect that kishimoto made this ninja war in response to One Piece's epic Marineford war. The difference between One Piece marineford war and Naruto's ninja-resurrection war is that….

Marineford war = Epic Win
Ninja War = Epic Fail

was watching one of the GREAT arcs in shippuden the other day. You know hte whole shikimaru arc basically.

And that guy with the 5 hearts was in that arc. And if i'm not mistaken (again haven't read last 2 chapters) is that not him there?

If so how does this summoning of zombies work again? doesn't he need the dead ninja's body? or what was it? But then on to this question as well as curious about diedara.

Didn't diedara blow himself up to like the smallest atom? so how is there any sort of body or something to get for him to summon. And this 5 heart guy, didn't Konaha bring his body back with them to check the autopsy. so isn't his body back in konoha. and did kabuto go to konaha and manage to dig up say asuma's grave so he could resurect him? i mean how many damn grave robberies did he do in konaha and no one noticed AT ALL.

I think it was the 3rd Hokage that was said to be the strongest, remember back when the 3rd Hokage was speaking to the class? The ninja/class teacher (Not sure if it was Iruka) mentioned that the 3rd was the strongest of his time.

Although I personally believe that the 1st is the strongest, seeing that he was capable of so much; controlling the bijus like they were pets and even beating the shizz out of Madara (Although one could say that Minato sorta did the same, but at least the 1st made Madara fake his own death)

*Itachi (Madara had his body)

*Nagato (Nagato used his bodies as proxies for almost everythiing, that and Konan also had his body as well when he died)

*Deidara (Blew himself to smithereens)

• The other Jinchurikki (Isn't Zetsu responsible for eating them?)

And what's the difference with bringing new guys that are alive? They're still new, we haven't seen anything of them, and we will still get to see what they're capable of, seeing that Edo Tensei allows the zombie to use all their jutsu.

Also? Oda sorta did something similar in Thriller Bark when it comes to bringing in new guys as Zombies. The giant Zombie that had Luffy's shadow? The Samurai that Zoro beat and took his sword?

This should be when everyone we ever cared for in the series gets their last moment to shine, and the entire cast is rounded up for the finale of the story. It is not the time to introduce and focus on a plethora of new characters we don't care for and don't have time to start caring for since what they do now is the only things they'll do ever in the series.

I think the point is, as Daz said, is that this should have been a place for the final glorious moments of our favorite characters, both good and evil.

Instead, we are seeing new villains facing new heroes, and we don't give a damn about either side. And when the people we should be caring about, Kankuro and Sai and Kakashi etc, they were fighting characters that had already been killed. I think that Kishimoto should've realized that he needed to keep some good villains alive for his "war", and planned accordingly. ie, let Konan live, make Nagato just back off, find Hidan again, don't send Kisame on a suicide mission, or at least introduce some of the new villains as like new akatsuki recruits or something. Would've been much more palatable than this zombie shit.

okay I'll cool it on narutard term, since actually still enjoy naruto

but I'm saying iruka says he's the most powerful when he's teaching them about kages, and the summoning ability orochimaru uses doesn't limit them to what there masters tell them to do, the fact that the third beat them when he's around 60 - 70 years old proves he was stronger than them, especially since they were zombies and his main goal was orochimaru, plus his summon said he was in pathetic shape after he beat 2 kages and sealed orochimaru's hands

lastly they called him the god of shinobi, the only other one who got that title was the 6 sage, I'm currently looking for a link where they call him that but I'm pretty sure they do, I double checked on naruto wiki and they said that too, so I'm pretty sure I'm right

According to Iruka, he was said to be the strongest Hokage Konoha ever had. Enma commented on his battle with Orochimaru, saying that it was "miserable" compared to his prime, even though he had clearly been able to hold his own against Orochimaru and two former Hokage without losing his composure. He was also the longest living and longest reigning Hokage.

How can you give a shit about Darui? How is that even possible? What in God's name is there to emote with? As for your Marco/Joz comparison, no, I didn't emote with them either, but I still wanted to see them fight in the war because they been introduced before and had been hyped up as the crew of the strongest man in the world. Who is Darui? Bodyguard of the Raikage?

And the thing is, Oda knew Marco and Joz were not meant be emotional characters. Oda knew these weren't deep or complex characters who should get several chapters of focus so that he could develop some phoned in emotional conflict for them, which is exactly what Kishi is doing.

Agreed. And even if Kishi, utterly, completely & absolutely needed some zombies, if Kabuto just brought back every Akatsuki member and Kages he could, it would not be as bad as right now. Hell, if even he brought back other big names like Hanzo, Tag Team, and this supposedly strongest generation of the Swordsman, it still would not be horrible like what we have.

But, bringing back people like Dan the Ninja, Neji's dad, Asuma, those two hanging out with Zabusa and Haku, Haku, Kimimaro and others, is just dumb as s***, really.

actually darui was one of the only people at the summit I was interested about, the whole thing is it was the kages and their teammates who had graduated with them, that's why they were supposed to be important because they were like the right hand men of the kages, your supposed to like them cause there top class like the commanders in one piece

now having said that I agree 100% with the other thing what nobodyman said that oda knew the commanders weren't well developed so he didn't have them take up space over other characters we wanted to see in action (like the Shichibukai and admirals) and definitely didn't devote an entire chapter to them, which is where kishi failed, because we've been waiting all part 2 for the kohana 11 to get some screen time, and now there stuck fighting fodder zetsus when they should be the ones having screen time and getting character development, not some no names against other no names

@Nobodyman Durai is the righthand man to a Kage and was made general of a division. He was introduced before with Raikage. I liked how he takes apologies for Raikage and takes the door instead. I like his laidback attidude. What does Oda not making Marco and his emotional characters have to do with Darui being one? That was Oda decision. Kishi has shown Durai is very humble and loyal to Raikage.

madara never stated that the first was the best just that they were long time rivals, and kakashi said naruto's the only one who could pass the 4th because the third was old an dead

and it's not an opinion just because the author has someone say it to you, that's like those people who thought sengoku was just saying whitebeard had the power to destroy the world but didn't really mean it, you can't just intepreate things your way and hope there right, the authors goal in that speech bubble was to tell you that he was the strongest of the kages

new guys that are alive make way more sense than dead. they are completely new, no this was the 1st hokage or the 7 swordsman or any other dead guys that make sense. Why bring back some new guy that has no history at all before known? makes no sense, why this person couldn't be alive. does madara really only have those 7 akatsuki guys or however many it were as his only guys he knows. they all die and he is left with NOBODY?

exactly. this is the last arc. you can't compare it to earlier in series arcs. OF course in earlier series arcs we get introduced to new guys. Hell zabuza was new back in ch. 20 or wahtever. madara was new, itachi was new. Everyone has to be new at some point. Its bad story telling to have a crap load of NEW guys in the very end of a story.

yea big time. He only made like 7 villians in the akatsuki and then had them slowly plucked off. Its like hello author you have only 2 bad guys left and all the heroes. what do you do now?

oh i know, i'll bring EVERYONE back as zombies and make up new guys, not new alive guys but dead guys for some reason. At the end of one piece we will have probably the whoel of the marines to take care of and/or blackbeard and his crew. Guess what, these are guys since the beginning of the series practically and will be our final guys some 1000 chapters later.

we are not going to get introduced to some cp10 in the last arc, or to rogers brother, or some guy roger spit out in the end. Neither are we going to have moria bringing back every dead character in the series as zombies ONLY. Yes we may have him bring back some like whitebeard or who knows hwo else. BUT they won't be the ONLY enemies. we will have plenty of LIVING and BREATHING enemies that are not NEW but built upon for a long time.

and we won't be having a bunch of NEW crewmates join in the last arc to help us. This watching these other ninja's fight for chapters is boring as shit.

This is near the end and we are having these guys steal the spotlight. Would you like if in one piece the first time we saw whitebeard was in the final arc and he and his crew beat all of the bad guys?

actually to be honest I liked the flashback too, I'm more upset that he's spending this much time on a guy we know very little about when we have the kohana 11 who used to pretty much be be main characters and there not doing shit besides fodder control

if the kohana 11 get to each have a good fight in this war I'll be satisfied, but if they don't do shit then I'll regard it very low, except ten ten since she hasn't been important once even when he loved his series

Here is my comparison. Lets pretend that One Piece ended after the war. the whitebeard war was the final arc in teh series, for sake of this argument the strawhats are all there and not seperated.

The whitebeard pirates were known in this world and seen a few times, just like the raikige and his black buddy and others in this war on our side participating NON our heroes Lee, Naruto, Ten-Ten, Sakura, Ino, Chouji, ect.

Now imagine if this war we basically had our strawhats sitting on the thousand sunny WATCHING as whitebeard and his 14 commanders went and fought the VA's, Admirals, Warlords, ect.

That is what reading naruto is like right now. i dont' care how cool marco or vista is, this is the end of the series, i want to see zoro, sanji and chopper fighting (i don't care how cool darui or the raikige are, i want to see lee, chouji and shikimaru fighting)

As i said, if this were ealier in the series, as the whitebeard/wg war was, then its fine if our main characters take a back seat and let these guys shine and become known. But that is not the case here. This is the end and it is feeling like the past 500 chaptesr were completely worthless. Why build up and show all these characters if we are going to use different characters at the end.

Quick summary:
Start playing an RPG. After playing 100 hours with your group of 8 people you have been leveling up since level 1, when you reach the final area in the game, it makes you use 8 new guys instead

The point is that so far we've seen the rookies get one panel for an attack, and thats about it. If that improves, good. But until we see it happen, we have the right to complain the Kishi is focusing on bit characters noone really cares about or even payed attention to, even when they were first made. It doesn't help that these bit characters are completely bland and tht when they cut to this part of the fight, we were supposedly about to see Kakashi, a character people like and care about, go berserk (At this point, I think it's safe to say Kakashi's big moment and battle against the seven swordsman will be completely off screen). In the end, it isn't that these are new characters that we don't know. Its that they are bland, generic new characters who are taking away screentime from the ones we DO care about, and who should by all means be getting a lot of screentime right now. Marineford only featured Luffy out of the SHs, but it was reasonable as to why, the other characters introduced were likable, and the battle just felt natural and planned rather than completely random and pulled out of the writer's ass. And honestly, if this was a less popular series, even the naruto fans would probably be criticizing it. The thing is, its Naruto, and in the fanboys' eyes Kishi can do no wrong

again we are not complaining about characters getting time to shine, its the time of the manga in which they do that is bothering us. You don't start showing off new characters at the end of a story.

the other main thing about marineford arc was that even though we had whitebeard, marco, vista, and the rest of the commanders as well as all the admirals and marines. LUFFY was still for the most part the main focus of the story. The rest were practically background noise. You can't argue against that. Just look at chapter topics throughout the war. Ever chapter is peopel bitchign about not seeing so and so fight or seeing so and so's fight longer or concluding ect.

But I think we all can agree that in the end it was better this way than to sit it out bleach style and watch each fight for a few chapters. Meanwhile Naruto is IGNORING our characters we know and reduced them to less than background noise.

BUT all this could be overlooked IF this was earlier in the series. Being the ending, it is just badly done.

It might've been nice to see a chapter or two devoted to team battles featuring multiple members of the konoha 11. Not one on ones, but just give them the spotlight and show teamwork. Instead, they fight Zetsus in one panel and then we just don't see them in favor of generic new character #53

i mean hell the best arc imo of shippuden, or post time skip i guess is correct term, is the shikimaru or team 10 arc.

We get some great team 10 work, well mostly shikimaru, some choji and no ino, but we are used to this from sakura, lol. Anyway it was awesome team 10, even more amazing kakashi action and an emotional arc. Might even be better than most of pre-time skip. hell even naruto finishing his training and showing up to one shot win at the end isn't enough to ruin the awesomeness of that arc.

Now where was that kind of arc for Lee's team or Hinata's team?

And as you said, why can't we see them fighting these guys instaed of giving other random guys the spotlight

I might have agreed with you if Kishi had shown me that he was even semi-capable at juggling characters but the fact of the matter is…is that he's not. Throughout the entire series he has introduced great characters, developed them just enough to make us care, and then tosses them aside. Its like he gets bored and moves on. I think we saw our first panel of Hinata since her big moment during the Pain Arc last week....and still nothing has been resolved.

I remember that the scans were in bad quality during the hunt of the Uchiha arc. I remember the double page when Itachi owned Deidara. It was badass. I could feel Kishi was fully invested.

During the current "war", some of the pages were not even done yet. I don't recall seeing any unfinished pages during Sasuke's overload in Shippuden.
