Pretty good episode. I give it an 8/10 as well.
I liked the filler bit they put at the beginning where the marine is in shock that Marineford- basically the symbol of Justice, is collapsing before him. It was a nice touch, and I'll welcome any filler that isn't Buggy-related. Though, the prisoners shaping the SOS was funny
.
Most of that scene was actualy in the manga, it was just not realy focused on.
Really nice episode. I think the Buddah's Palm on the BB pirates scene is cool. The title speaks to itself. I cracked on the SOS part.

In conclusion I think Shingaki, Kawamura, and Ide improved in this arc...
Inoue, Ishizuka (well only Katsumi's last 2 episodes) - "the aparently better ones" - were sadly under their usual level... especially Inoue...
Hisada, Nakatani and Megumi were like always they are... great.

Whomever was the episode director did a very good job. As far as your assessment of the animators I pretty much agree with everything but Yokoyama. He sincerely has gotten a lot better since Amazon Lily. His artwork does not stick out as much as it used too, and it blends better with Oda's original manga. He's still not great, but he has shown dramatic improvement and his Marineford episodes show that off pretty well.

It does make you wonder about the HQ building. If the whole thing is big enough to let giants freely walk inside, then how the hell do they keep the place from being dark, seeing as there are no windows visible on the front.

An ok episode. I didn't like Ivankov vs. Akainu (really Ivankov? you were going to kiss him?), but the rest was good. Sengoku is so shiny. And, of course, loved sgt Law's Lonely Hearts Club Band and their yellow submarine (get it? get it? HEARTS? dies of shame).
Oh! And I still love Buggy, it's his ridiculous fanboys that I can't stand. Kill them, kill them with magma.

Where to start? Such a great episode.
-akainu really looked like a monster and the hellfire and magma was really well animated and made him look even more terrifying.
-Ivankov's fight with Akainu was hilarious
-I liked how Jinbei protecting Luffy was long and drawn out. It really made jinbei out to be an even more likable character. That ferocious yell he did as Akainu was walking toward him was pretty badass. I know people like to make fun of the fact that he's always willing to die for someone/something but I think he has good character.
-Crocodile to the rescue! I thought it was moderately epic. I liked how he made his entrance.
-WB pirates united was great. Although I don't know what to make of crocodile's metaphor. "Whether he lives or dies, it's as if he's in hell. Then we can make him suffer as we please while he lives.". Can someone explain this?
This episode was a lot better than I was expecting it to be. Good job on actually making it seem Jimbei and Luffy were in serious danger. Also nice to have confirmation that this is where Luffy's scar comes from. It wasn't all that clear in the manga.

Very nice. I was kinda annoyd at the almsot 5 minute recap and opening credits but the episode itself was pretty great. Even the buggy part didn't annoy me. Sadly we didn't see more of the sengoku Blackbeard fight which promises to be epic but the next episode looks like it will be full of awesome fights and you know who will finally come

I think he was reffering to luffy….It may means that For the moment He shouldn't die, if anyone Has a grudge against him, He shall makes him suffer later. Either way its hell.

Great episode, but plot wise, we're hitting what I consider, a deus ex machina for this arc.
Kind of lame, but cool to see the end of the arc approaching, so we can "move ahead" with things. ;)
Fantastic episode. Akainu- i hate him for killing ace, but as a villian he rules. He was awesome. Sengoku for once looked kinda awesome - makin that whole justice speech.
Ending was great with all the WB Commanders ready to fight the magma man. A pity Jozu is frozen…he woulda been the 1 person that may have been able to stop Akainu with his diamond powers and awesome brute strength.

The Buggy "filler" was ok, the S.O.S was funny….everything else with that was "meh", at least it wasn't as annoying as before.
And I LOVE that Law's submarine is yellow and also "I'm a Doctor!" line...it would been epic with a "trust me" in there...but ohh well the yellow submarine makes for it.
Can't wait for next week...Akainu vs Marco! And you-know-who shows up!

Damn it, for us translators Ivankov was a pain on this episode. Two attacks were created, and it's kinda tough when you don't know that much Japanese X-X

Wow, for me this was the best episode of the entire war so far. 10/10. I loved it, and I didn't really have high expectations for it going in. The filler was all great and flowed well. If I didn't read the manga, I wouldn't have thought this episode had any filler at all (except for that flashback scene I suppose). And the non-filler was all well done in my eyes.
Akainu looked great again, and I dare say his attack that hit Jinbe and Luffy may have been better than the manga (which is something I never say), because it was pretty unclear exactly what that attack did to Jinbe in the manga. I'm a little disappointed they took out Aokiji's only line, though.
Crocodile's filler reasoning for saving Jinbe and Luffy really made sense, and I loved it. I wish that line had appeared in the manga as well, because it always felt a little off. That entire scene with him and the Whitebeard commanders was excellent.

Good episode overall, but the timing of Sengoku's speech was way off, just like in the manga.
"The Island is a symbol of Justice! Nevermind the HQ is rubble, the island itself is split in two, the towns are destroyed, and thousands, maybe tens of them, of elite Marines lay dead or dying all over the place, it's still a symbol, damn it!".

Like most comments say it was a good episode! The first minutes when there's that zoom on the marine fodder watching marineford being teared down I thought here we go. But no though the art was slightly off at the begining the filler scenes were intelligently made. The second part was just sweet stuff, exciting to see, cool moment after cool moment. Have high hopes for next week's now.

Mihawk was attacking Luffy. Mr 1 and then Croc got in the way. We never got any reasoning for it other than "the Marines are enemies now." I could speculate on why he did it, but in the end it's only speculation.</nico:<>

Eh…I think it sort of gave a false sense of his intentions. He didn't say that in the manga, which means he could have another reason. I suppose he is one to hold a grudge against Luffy though, seeing how he also held a grudge against Whitebeard for defeating him. Anyways I suppose that makes him look more of a rival. He's not like Hancock or Jinbei, who suddenly became allies. He's like Vegeta in a sense (sorry for the DBZ comparison). Although I don't know why it seemed like he was speaking for the commanders too, since they have no resentment toward Luffy. Maybe there's a deeper meaning?
