And considering the village is an just an illusion, he probably will have to start munching on Nirvana.
Good to know it can continously regenerate itself.

I can't recall, but was Midnight forming illusions of Rob and Simon filler? I thought it was cool, but I didn't remember seeing it.
Also, despite being "blegh" on how Zero looked in the opening, I have to say I enjoy how he actually looks now that hes been properly introduced.
In fact, this entire arc was plain boring in the manga, but the anime has made me really like it.

Yeah most of the illusion stuff was filler.
But I agree it did look cool.
If Natsu becomes an S-class mage then he will be able to take Lucy and Gray without having to go with Erza for S class mission.
If Natsu becomes an S-class mage then he will be able to do S class missions alone.
But never will .

He'll realize he won't be able to go on missions with Gray,Happy and Lucy and decline it.

Dammit .
@Kaba:
I'm sorry but I refuse to believe that Mirajane is dead. For one of the more standout characters in Fairy Tail, it would be too rushed and anticlimactic. For all we know, she'll either be back in a couple of chapters or by the end of the arc.
And let's face it, if Pell can survive a bomb blast head on, there's no reason why anybody else in Shonen comics can't.
That still pisses me off. Good thing Oda hasn't done something that dumb since
Well Elfman will probably defeat the guy taking revenge for his sister. That would be kind of sweet Elfman has kickass powers but was handled poorly until this arc.
Do you have alzheimers? Elfman and Evergreen are in the middle of fighting Rusty Rose
@No:
No, I don't ignore them, it is common knowledge these reasons are basicly forced onto the story and contrived solely so the last fight in an arc goes to Natsu.
And it's not that I particularly like Lisanna. It's jut that after not letting Juvia do shit for several arcs, and Lisanna being brought back from the dead, they were eliminated in the first round , in what even the master deemed an unecessarily uncompromising way, by Erza.
I just find it grating that she would do that. Were it Gray and Loki I wouldn't have batted a bloody eyelid.
Fuck grey. Bixlow whooping his ass was the best moment in fairy tail.

I feel the same way. This makes me wonder if the anime will make the Edoras arc better than what it was. Which I actually enjoyed that arc cause I didn't mind the exceed. Made sense to me seeing as how there was charlie and Happy. 2 creatures just don't pop into existence they had to come from somewhere and we got that answered in that arc.
Why would people be mad Erza beat Juvia and Lisanna.
Why on earth.
Like they could've won?
"The unnecessarily unforgiving way she put them down?" Really?
I mean, Juvia is won of my favorite characters hands down, but SOMEONE was going to be eliminated during this competition! Not only that, but if we're going by what Makarov said, only one person would get to become S-Class anyway. Did you think it was going to be Juvia over Natsu or Kana? You guys know how Mashima operates.
Don't get it.
The reason I stated for why I hated that so much is who she eliminated in the first round.
Namely the S rank chick from Phantom who hasn't done anything for two whole preceding arcs, and a person who was just brought back from the dead.
And they are eliminated in the first round.
Do you see where I'm heading with this ?
Yeah, FT S Class > PL S Class.
It's really not that complicated.

No. I really don't.
If you want to be technical about it, Gildartz was eliminated in the first round too, for all the effect he's going to have on this arc.
At least Juvia and Lisanna are in the arc and going to be doing something - I don't know what them being defeated in gaspuh! "round one" even matters now that the S-Class trial has been interrupted. They'll still be active participants in the fight against Grimoire Heart.
I mean, hurry up and rant at Zancrow, 'cuz he took Lisanna and Mirajane down too, and Mirajane has done LESS in as many arcs as anyone else. I just don't see what getting mad at a round one elimination means, unless you're a fan of Fried and Bixlow or Gildartz - 'cuz those three were PROMPTLY discarded.
He brings back two characters who have done almost nothing in the series, and then eliminates them instead of someone who is roughly on the same level and yet has been around to annoy us without fail in every single arc.
That my friend is a cocktease. And I don't mean that in the usual way for this series :ninja:
Did anyone notice that the last screen for the new opening in the anime has 2 lucys on it. Is this the anime's way of foreshadowing edoras?
Gemini .
Gemini .
Nope, if you still the image when that image pops up gemini is on the right side.

"Roughly on the same level"? When did Lisanna demonstrate anything, let alone something that puts her on Erza's level? And Jubia hasn't done much to be considered on Erza's level, really. Though her abilities are tricky to deal with, she's roughly as powerful as Gray (maybe slightly more), and not as durable (given that it took one lightning lachryma to incapacitate her compared to four for Gray). Though she was considered an S-class by Phantom Lord standards, their standards seem particularly lower in comparison to Fairy Tail's, given what we've seen Luxus, Mistgun, Mirajane, Erza, and Gildartz do.
On the same level as Grey, I meant.
Oh, I see. My mistake.
In any case, though, the arc is far from over. Lisanna's presence (and proximity to Mirajane, which she likely wouldn't have if she hadn't lost) may turn out to be important as early as the next chapter, if she gets any kind of emotion-based power-up from this. (which is entirely possible - it is a fairly common cliche, and it seems to run in the family given that Elfman and Mirajane gained (well, regained) some kind of uber-transformation when the other one was threatened or near death)
On Juvia's durability, it was mentioned I think that because her magic was water based she'd take increased damage from the lightning lacryma. Though I'd say that in general Juvia being at about Grey's level is about right.
Nevertheless, no matter how you look at it, Erza took out, like, 200 lacryma singlehandedly when all Grey could manage was 4. And we've seen time and again that Phantom's definition of S-Class isn't on the level of Fairy Tail's.
Anyway, again, I don't see that it matters. It's like Megadoomer says: this arc is far from over, and it's clear that Lisanna and Juvia will have parts to play. Who cares that they got taken out in the first round?
Do you have alzheimers? Elfman and Evergreen are in the middle of fighting Rusty Rose
So? How exactly does that exlude him from the candidates? Is it some kind of holy law that every shounen character shall not have more than one fight per arc? Try to bring up something less half-assed next time
Well, bomb aside, I like that GH still looks strong after the lose of Zancrow. This loss by Marijane made up for that, and makes me look forward to more. I wonder, is that wood guy too injured for a "fair" fight now? Is he going to lose to a weaker fighter, job to someone, or magically heal?
I'm also surprised anyone cares about Zancrow. He's literally evil Natsu with less personality and goofy eyes. This is clearly hatred for Natsu transfering into respect for Zancrow, which is okay but it doesn't make him a good character. I'm willing to bet he's KOed but with his eyes open…it's tough to tell with his face isn't it?
Lisanna not being injured from the blast is about as logical as Pell surviving in One Piece. However, we still read that, so stop giving Mashima crap for it.

Why?

Yeah everyone was pissed off or at least irritated about it. But at least we didn't have tons of reactions from everyone about his apparent death or how it affected the lives of the others in the future. Lisanna's return however pretty much banalizes most of Elfman's and Mirajane's development so far because it turns out: hey, she got better after all.
The only proper death scene in FT is the one with Simon and even that was played down later by the fact that Gerard's amnesia serves as justification now that Gerard's actually a good guy to the point, where everyone except Erza was willing to throw themselves at the government in order to save him from his well-deserved punishment.
Marijaine is alive. Marakov is alive. Natsu is unbeatable because he will power up on your ass. Fairy Tail will win this battle no matter what the odds and that's dandy but I don't understand why Hiro is even trying to make it look like any of these characters will die when we know they won't.

Like I said before Elfman and Evergreen are fighting Rusty Rose and there most likeally on another part of the island no where near the encampment that both Lisanna and Mirajane were at when they were encountered by Azuma.
The only way I can see Elfman fighting against Azuma is:
Scenario A: Him and Evergreen are in range to hear the blast and he get's a sickening feeling (you know the one that lets ya know something seriously bad just happend) asks Evergreen if she'll be fine dealing with RR alone and head over to the scene.
Scenario B: Azuma shows up in the middle of their fight and starts to fight against Elfman and Evergreen. Notice's that elfman can transform and mentions that his transformation reminded him of the women he just blew up.
If none of these scenario's happen. Than your fantasy match won't come true.People in series don't automatically go: I know you hurt that person without even seeing you do it.
Even the worse of writers know not to do this.
I'm sure Gerarde will show up soon!

Well that's much better thanks for elaborating. You're right that Elfman won't come out of nowhere and fight the guy without knowing what exactly happened. But there are more possibilities except the one you just mentioned..Lisanna is probably running around searching for help. I'm not saying I'm sure that Elfman will fight that guy but for him it makes the most sense and he really deserves a proper fight now that he can use his powers to the fullest again.
Lisanna coming back from the dead is like Bellemere showing up out of nowhere.
@Thousand:
Lisanna coming back from the dead is like Bellemere showing up out of nowhere.
I wouldn't go that far.
We never saw Lisanna's 'death' did we?
Where as we were explicitly shown Bellemere get blown away.

Okay then. It would be like Tom showing up out of nowhere.
Why did they think that Lisanna's dead anyway? Was there even a body found? I'm genuinely confused about that matter someone please enlighten me. <_<

She was injured while on a mission and subsequently disappeared.
They assumed she was dead.
When actually an anima had opened up and sucked her into Edolas.
The alternate Fairy Tail assumed that it was their Lisanna (who had apparantly died for real) and she joined them.
I though Mirajane was mourning her "corpse" after Elfman "killed" her. I distinctly remember a lot of people wondering how she didn't notice her dead sister vanishing before her eyes.
EDIT: Yeah, it's chapter 199 page 7.
It was stupid.
The alternate Fairy Tail assumed that it was their Lisanna
really? before FT and lisanna went back home i thought that they confessed to lisanna that they knew all along about her being from another world?
I still think that whole situation would've been a little less stupid if at some point in the story Mirajane said something along the lines of ''…and she was taken up to Heaven''.
The alternate Fairy Tail assumed that it was their Lisanna (who had apparantly died for real) and she joined them.
Edoras Fairy Tail's Lisanna was dead for real. I guess the other guild members took her at face value, but in the flashback at the end of the arc Edoras Mirajane and Elfman revealed that they knew she wasn't really the ''real'' one.

Ok wow that's lame. Not only doesn't she notice that her sister is still alive her body vanishes and nobody wonders what's up with that? Obviously Mashima couldn't really decide whether he would let her stay dead and so he tried to make it ambigious by making the other two look retarded in hindsight.
I wonder if she'll marry Natsu <3

Spot on, this statements holds true on all Fairy tail arcs in past, present and future. Hiro would wreck his poor brain if he would even consider option of changing that rule.
Its 100% chance that Fairy Tail will triumph with perfect scores in this arc, Natsu propably will defeat enemy guild master with some asspulls and perhaps 'suprise' assist from Luxus, of course no charecter growth for Natsu either and no promotion either…
Well atleast art is good...pretty much only positive thing about this series...its even more light weight than Bleach.

No, just no. Nothing is more lacking in depth and proper writing than this Felch abdomination. True Fairy Tail isn't a great manga at all and most of us read it for the fun of it and not because we adore it so much but at least it has its moments from time to time. The last Felch moment that was worth remembering is somewhere buried in the SS arc.
I knew the song in the OVA trailer was sung by Natsu, but it turns out the Fairy Hills OVA ED will be sing by Lucy. And on April 6, they're releasing a new Character song album that'll have Erza, Grey, Wendy, Charle, Happy, and even Gajeel.
@Fire Fist:
Well,
! He did come back briefly in the dream world and they hung out together for a while until Simon finally realized it was a dream created by the Anti-Spirals.
Yeah, but
! I don't consider it an issue if they are visited by the ghost of their dead person here and there as a guardian of sorts. That's just me though. But bringing people back from the dead with no good reason is where I draw the line. Sometimes it works out good, but most of the time it's redundant.
And I'm open to more character songs. I wonder if another soundtrack will be released, though.

Elfman has had a proper fight against Sol during the phantom lord arc. Honestly I want to see him fight since he can transform into different beasts and who knows elfman may have a beast mode where explosion magic won't work it would be funny though that if he did meet up with Azuma and used it on him yet didn't use it against Evergreen in there short confrontation during the battle of fairy tail.
Fuck it.
Where is Gerard?
Damn good episode overall this week. While I never gave much of a shit about Midnight and his fight (completely forgot how that ended until now), I like how the anime tied up the connection they had with the Tower of Heaven. And Zero is definitely a much better villain than Brain. While I like intelligent villains, Brain just never grabbed my attention. But his alter ego has the crazy pyshco villainy I also really like.
Midnight's magic in the anime didn't make any sense at all now I think of it.
How did he know about Rob and Simon to create illusions of them?
Brain told him.
Alternatively, the illusions were being born from Erza's subconscious or something like that.
Brain told him.

I suppose Brain could have clued him in.
But I'm sure the way Midnight's powers were stated to work is that he bends the light to make illusions.
He has no psychic powers or anything, he can't read Erza's or Jellal's mind.
