Cool. I'm just glad it wasn't the rumored $300
But fuck, Dissidia 012 is supposed to come out like, four days later…
God, March is gonna be busy.

kinda irked that after all that we don't have a price or a launch lineup after all.
Wasn't a fan of them giving so much time to S-F, Pro Evo and Dead or Alive either and then quickly rushing off the Nintendo games at the end. Although S-F looks to be the best on there. Unless Resi is really good.
Yeah no figure irked me too.
$250 sounds reasonable. I'm glad it's not three-hundred.
Yeah no figure irked me too.
Which means GAME can charge £200 for it while Asda or Toys R Us charge £180 like usual lol
Woulda been nice if they gave us an average (Although I suppose it's because it's in so many regions and different price for different countries.) Tho $250 is about £160 or so
Now….Shiny Blue or Black....hmmm
Blue easily .
Well that event was… entirely unnecessary... you take over an hour to announce only the release date and we don't even get a price but america does?
Almost as if that entire event was just done so that NOA didn't have to tell America themselves that Europe would be getting the 3DS two days in advance.
Considering that I used to work for GAME I'd expect them to sell it for £199.99 so that they can charge gamecare for only £24.99 rather than £29.99 since thats where they get most of their money from.
Edit: Oh yeah, they did actually also subtly announce global friends codes which they really should have hyped up more.
Edit the second: Play.com are selling it for £219.99 http://www.play.com/Games/DS/4-/15572510/Nintendo-3DS-Console-Black/Product.html
Edit the third: HMV for £229.99 http://hmv.com/hmvweb/navigate.do?pPageID=5235&clickID=hp020201
HMV's Price is £229.99 for 3DS.
First console since I bought my GameCube that won't be day one purchase. Really looking likely that I'm waiting for 3DS lite.
Anyone know if region locking is confirmed yet?
Game have also just priced it at £229.99. Looks like that's the UK retail price.
Kinda tempted to cancel now. Far too expensive and it's like £60 cheaper in America. Tempted to just buy one there and import all the games
Also Game have Nintendogs, Street Fighter, Ridge Racer, Samurai Warriors and Dead or Alive as March 25th releases
Edit: Nice to see Zavvi advertising all the stuff at £10 cheaper than Game XD
No news about region locking then? Godamnit Nintendo.

There was some wasn't there? How they said it was cus of different laws or something they had to

Didn't Zavvi go bust?
All the ones in my city closed.

online. cheap. faster than play and usually get pre-orders a few days early.
Weird; it seems Game have taken down their price.
Did they announce any of the US launch tittles?
Play have it for £219.99
Whereas other stores like this:
http://www.gamesbasement.co.uk/consoles/nintendo-3ds/nintendo-3ds-console-black-PD-8577.html
£159.99
Sorry game. Hurry up and get a proper price or else I'm cancelling.
Launch lineup for UK according to Game:
Street Fighter,
Nintendogs + Cats: Poodle
Samurai Warriors
Fifa
Resident Evil 3D
Pro Evo
Madden,
Dead or Alive

Sims 3
$250 sounds reasonable. I'm glad it's not three-hundred.
same here
and the programs like the pedometer,Hotspot locator and the Activity Log sound cool
the internet browser though needs to go..it doesnt work well much or has it been updated alot now?
re-ordered off Zavvi
£217.99 + Free Carry Case + 10% off a game (£3 off)
Ended up with Samurai Warriors and I'll pick up Okamiden, Pokemon and Resident Evil on launch
Since no one seems to have mentioned it yet, friend codes will still exist, but will be universal to all games (as in a friend code for your system itself), and if you play someone on wireless you will automatically get their friend code
I'm going to wait until region free firmware turns up.
Amazon is taking preorders now for both Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black Systems
So has anyone made a conclusion yet?
I'm officially going to hold out until at least Kid Icarus and Paper Mario. If even they don't spur me to buy one then I'm holding off until 3DS lite.
If however Unlimited Cruise gets a euro release that may change my mind. (Never thought a licensed game would make me say that)
haha. Ross wants Street Fighter vs Animal Crossing
Nintendo, do this and I will shut up about Earthbound.
Between the launch of the 3DS and E3 2011 a total of 30 games will be released for the Nintendo 3DS.

I was always going to get it on launch. (Birthday is about 2 weeks later so it's perfect timing.) I'm getting the Blue with Samurai Warriors/Resident Evil and then just gonna play Okamiden, Dragon Quest VI and Pokemon White till they release better games for it

My birthday is actually in April as well XD, I think I initially had a similar plan but I'll probably just see if I can get my 360 replaced instead. I want Nintendo to change my mind though.
I've had mine preordered since July, price was never an issue so I'm getting mine on launch. Launch titles are disappointing but there are plenty of DS games left to play. It's out 2 days after my birthday :P

I only want my fucking Paper Mario and Mario kart and maybe Super Street Fighter IV and Ridge Racer for the side.
btw. something I noticed was rather amusing.
Zavvi has Pikmin advertised as a 3DS release.
bout time we got a new one. But doubt it's real :/

Well that will at least make things easier. Though I still think it's time for all handhelds to go full online, Phantasy Star Portable 2 manages to be a full online game, why can't others?
Not quite sure what you mean by full online. Do you mean like an MMO or something?
Nah, I just mean having an online community like Red Dead Redemption or Borderlands.
So you mean being able to play the main world game online? Honestly doesn't seem like a big deal to me, and it only works in a small few number of games
This is a contradictory example but as a Monster Hunter player I want to be able to play with people, not just by myself. With the majority of MH games being on the PSP at the moment, I'm left with only being able to play with my friends when they feel like playing. Now if there was an online community I would be able to play with people whenever I feel like playing.
Ehh..
I might get it, my birthday is in April, but I won't buy anything maybe other than Nintendogs..
Weak.
I really like the inclusion of a Home button that will bring up the system menu without quitting the game.
So it's like all 3 current gen systems where you have a miniature dashboard-guide without quitting the game or the actual system menu?
If true that does sound nice.
Any news about the NA price yet? That's what I'm most interested in at this point since I'm already satisfied with the software.

From the promo video it made it looks sort of like dumping you out to a Wii menu but apparently it just puts the game in a freeze state. It'll allow you to utilize some of the system's functions (I'm assuming not other programs like downloadable games).
Also, comes with an upgradeable 2 GB sd card. Don't know if that is specific to the 3DS or uses the standard model, but that should be cool. I wonder if it uses that for game data (similar to PSP) or if it still writes to the cartridge chip.

$250. I thought someone had been over this…
I don't think we have any idea what the games will cost, though. I'm hopinh for something like $40 or less.

Some on twitter were complaining the American games were costing the same as 360/PS3 ones. So some stores must have prices?
Although the UK sites seem to be all over. Game says £40, Gamestation says £32. Zavvi says £30.
i reckon it will be the same price as current DS games. If not then maybe about £5/$5 more
For anyone wanting to know, it's confirmed from what I can tell that people no longer have to use Nintendo points for paying stuff at Nintendo 3DS eShop. That's right, apparently everything has real cash value in whatever country you live in. But the only thing is, that many features of the 3ds, such as DSiware transferring, Web browser, Downloading games and 3d movies won't be at day one along with the eShop.
For anyone living in Australia, the launch details for the 3ds will be revealed February 8th.
It seems that Pictochat may have been killed off, but isn't really confirmed.
i reckon it will be the same price as current DS games. If not then maybe about £5/$5 more
Talking about the prices of the games, I think in America, it will most likely be $35 or $40 each. While Japan from what I heard is paying about 60 to 70 bucks.

I've seen price ranges at my local Gamestop, they are anywhere from $40 to $50 in the US so take that for what you will.
$40-50 sounds about right. pricing on pretty much all handheld games in the US these days has a ceiling of $30-35 except for a handful of premium titles, so it makes sense that they'll bump it up about $10-15 for now. They definitely won't be as cheap as DS games are currently because that's a factor of low sales overall and a glut of shovelware. New system means the pricing reflects novelty, lots of people looking for software. They won't come cheap.
