There is no chapter this week?
Yeah; the magazine's taking a break, so there won't be a new chapter until next week.

Off topic. For those of you who enjoy FT and its spreads, I took out that Azuma speech bubble stuff w/ a quick photoshop and uploaded it to the wikia. Although it may have looked better that way lawlz.

EDIT: Updated the pic
There is no chapter this week?
About the anime, i don´t really like it, it´s very lame. And sometimes they fuck up the charas with too much bright colors. Midnight´s eyes were a fail. And i don´t mean color tones. I mean their intensity
And the voices are one fail after another too, they only one that sounds good on their respective chara is Lucy´s
last week's was a double issue or something, so no "whatever magazine" fairy tail is in.

Very nice, you did a good job.
Kodansha finally gave their press statement on when they'd be releasing new titles, but more importantly, when older titles will resume. Fairy Tail volume 13 comes out in may, and the final 3 volumes of rave master will be in an omnibus in the same month. This is the info I was waiting for~
sweet i"ve always wanted to own the entire RAVE series. I do have alot of them in RAW format on my computer.
EDIT: Just got done watching episode 58, Lucy vs. Angel's fight was crammed into one episode and the fight was better animated, the music actually helped the emotional scene ie; gemini finding out that lucy loves spirits. Well next week should be everyone's favorite episode, mark your calendars boys n girls cause next week is a Gerard episode, YAY!!!, Aint I a stinka?
I'm kinda glad the Lucy vs Angel fight was one episode. Honestly I agree I think the fights in the anime are better then the manga. I don't know if it's the pacing, or just seeing the manga panals it in action. But the manga version just seems to be going thru the paces with nothing too extravagant happening. There are a few exceptions but most seem mediocre. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the fights, they're entertaining. They just don't wow me.
I'm going a bit off topic again and sorry if this has been mentioned. I wonder how long it'll take till Lucy gets the Capricorn key from the evil guild. After this arc she will have all of the zodiac keys except for Pisces and Libra
Nice episode. The music piece playing when Gemini was struggling to finish off Lucy was great. I believe it's a new piece, as well.
in the manga was hibiki Karens lover? cause I can't recall that.
I think he was just one of the many adoring fans, I honestly can't remember the manga version.
As for the anime, it held my interest until the OS arc started, and now due to the bad writing of Mashima I feel bleh again.
Honestly, I even excused the "Dragon slayer and Jellal in every arc," because I was enjoying it.
And to be honest, it makes more sense in anime format, I can keep up with Mashima's weird logic in the manga at times, but the anime is really much better at putting things in their place.
However, this arc is stupid, and I doubt I'll like it even in Anime format.

Looks good! steals :ninja:
The cute girl with wings on the side of her ears reminds me of a hentai:

I also think she will be a dragonslayer, or at least one or two of the kin

Zeref seems to be the New Dragonslayer for this arc. Melody's personality doesn't seem to match that of a Dragonslayer.
Zeref being a dragon slayer would be the dumbest thing ever, no offense.
The super-famous Voldemort of Fairy Tail and no one mentions he's a Dragon Slayer.
I think the reason he knows Natsu's name is the same reason Natsu and Gajeel couldn't pass the 80 year old block, something mysterious surrounds them.
http://www.mangafox.com/manga/fairy_tail/v24/c209/9.html The reason I'm calling him a Dragonslayer is because of this here. Look at his canines. As far as I know, there are no vampires in fairy tail, so fangy canines usually means a Dragonslayer.
Zeref being a dragon slayer would make sense though
Its ancient magic that has to be taught to you by a dragon. If he knows all sorts of Black Magic according to Hades then it would make sense for him to know it.
Why would a dragon slayer have an army of pet demons and not an army of pet dragons?
Why do his powers create an aura of his element, and neither Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy nor briefly Laxus created auras of their element to damage those around them?
I'm sure you're wrong about the teeth thing, for one they don't protrude that much, and secondly there are probably other non-DS villains that have had them.
I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong, but it wouldn't make sense storywise.

She just seems too silent, and from my experience with different mangas and animes, the quiet ones give you a big surprise.
I have a feeling that she's actually really fast. The reason that she's so slow in appearance and personality is probably because she's supposed to be Sloth. I'm guessing each of the Seven Kin equate to a sin:
Ultear: Lust
Zancrow: Wrath (Has shown extreme anger/desire to burn everything)
Azuma: Pride (First to arrive on the island, smug, arrogant)
Kain Hikaru: Gluttony (obvious)
Melody: Sloth
Rusty Rose: Greed
Caprico: Envy
Those are just guesses, though, but I'm sure considering their group name, it has some relevance.
Ugh. Group of seven villains equal seven sins theory. I was wondering when one would crop up.
@Fire Fist:
Ultear: Lust
When has Ultear been shown to be particularly lustful? Maybe I just missed something here.
Zancrow: Wrath (Has shown extreme anger/desire to burn everything)
Okay, yeah, he is pretty wrathful.
Azuma: Pride (First to arrive on the island, smug, arrogant)
I fail to see how being first makes him arrogant, and I don't recall him acting arrogant, but I'd call my reading of the chapter skimming at best.
Kain Hikaru: Gluttony (obvious)
He's a big guy, so maybe.
Melody: Sloth
I just don't see this one at all. She seems more nervous than anything that I could interpret as Sloth.
Rusty Rose: Greed
Caprico: Envy
Now I'm pretty sure that you're just assigning these arbitrarily.
Those are just guesses, though, but I'm sure considering their group name, it has some relevance.
What? How on earth is "Seven Kin of Purgatory" relevant to the "Seven Deadly Sins"? All I can think of is the number seven and that kin rhymes with sin.

For the sake of bringing it up, she was acting pretty flirtations with Siegrain (for all intensive purposes, the illusion twin) after the Deliora affair.
Now onto other things, like why Charle bothers to wear cloths. If she was trying to cover up, then you'd think she'd wear something underneath them, but no, every other time she takes off in flight in the anime we get a clear shot of her naked ass… honestly, why?
And that's my random tidbit for today.
cats need no clothes
FFA makes theories.
Just gotta roll with it.
Well hold on now, the 7 Kin of Purgatory being related to the 7 deadly sins isn't a bad theory. I mean after all the master's name is Hades, and the title of those 7 has Purgatory in it, both of which are references to hell and what lies after. And on the fairy tail wiki someone put under Caprico's trivia,
As a member of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, he could represent the sin of Pride, due to his stereotypical appearance of the Devil (a horned goat-man), which is why Lucifer rebelled against God and became Satan in the Biblical story.
Of course this was removed due to pure speculation, but with the theme of hell in this guild, the 7 sins isn't so out of the question.

…OOOOOR Caprico could represent Capricorn, one of the 12 Stellar Spirits.
Which makes more sense.
I'm just sick of every time there's a group of seven villains, people decide that they MUST correspond to the seven deadly sins.
Indeed, that does get very old, but when the enemy is associated with hell it's not out of the question. In both the adaptions of FMA the leader of the 7 sins had names related to The Divine Comedy, Dante and Father.
But yes, it does get annoying. Just like I shake my head when people try to associate the 7 warlords from One Piece with the 7 deadly sins. "Hancock is Lust! Jinbei must be Pride!" … more like, you know, they're just the 7 Warlords of the Sea :P
The new episode was really good. I totally forgot about Hibiki's bullshit powerup on Lucy, but the spell at least looks awesome. Looks better animated, but I remember the original drawing by Hiro was awesome as well.
Was not expecting underboob in the anime… at the very least, they've become slightly more lenient. Even though they didn't show any blood on Hibiki, they sort of didn't show the place he was hit with an arrow and implied he had actually been pierced.

Well, I didn't mean any malice by it. Like Silence said, I just make theories. The point is, though, like iMustang mentioned, is that their Guild Leader is named Hades, who is the Greek God of the Underworld (and in Roman Culture, Pluto, who is also associated with Wealth, although the true God of Wealth is Plutus, his son with Persephone). Considering they are the "Seven Kin of Purgatory (Purgatorio), it would make sense if they were modeled after the Seven Deadly Sins, which are cleansed in Pugatory, according to the Divine Comedy. It would be a common reference to Dante's work.
I didn't mean any harm. That's just what I do.
You have harmed me, ouch.
I am injured…!

That's one of the things I remembered that made me loathe this arc.
What? How on earth is "Seven Kin of Purgatory" relevant to the "Seven Deadly Sins"? All I can think of is the number seven and that kin rhymes with sin.
As was explained- The seven sins of purgatory based on the famous poem.
It is quite a reasonable assumption to think they are going to be loosely based on these seven deadly sins considering they have the name purgatory.
And there is no reason why capricorn can't have a sin theme and be part of the zodiac.
I would laugh if Ultear represents lust considering her current battle attire xD
I'll put my guesses hidden here in case people just want to skip it ^_^ - even though I have so little to go on :D
[hide]
Ultear- Envy, considering her possible jealously of Gray's relationship with her mother. Wanting what he had? Envy tends to be related with anger as well
Caprico- Pride, Seems haughty to me and vain.Trying to come across as superior the whole time. Also all the stellar spirts have great pride(loki vs aries outlined that) Plus Mustang's quote on his appearance is interesting.
Rusty Rose- Lust, he's a pretty character and the roses in the background during his introduction seem to suggest a beauty theme for the character. Also his quote- "the eden known as battle." More beauty references
Cain Hikaru- Yeah.. gluttony- due to his physique
Meredy- Sloth. Sloth does'nt refer to laziness per se, it also refers to apathy and a lack of feeling(emotion) which she seems to have.
Zancrow- Wrath. He seems unable to control his emotions, a sign of wrath. Also he just looks like an angry psychopath.
Azuma- Greed becuase it's left.Maybe the fact that he wants the spoils for himself so much that he arrived first… I'm pure guessing on this one :/ [/hide]
By the way, while looking into to this I found out that Azuma is a famous volcano in Japan. I found that amusing :)
Edit: By the way I'm also just having a bit of fun with this :p
I looked up a bit on Capricorn, and if his deadly sin has anything to do with the personality of Capricorn, I think it might be Pride.

WHOA. Never even knew this was happening, but seeing that special in uncensored anime form is pretty damn awesome, lol.
WOW.
Looks like they're going all out for the DVD, 'cause those scenes would never be in the actual tv series.
Interesting? That the next anime opening?

Nice
Is it me or is the animation slightly better than the TV series?
Chapter's out: http://mangastream.com/read/fairy_tail/88559921/1
Well …Mashima suprised me
Nice
Is it me or is the animation slightly better than the TV series?
Yes, usually OVA's have better animation quality than regular episodes.
The chapter surprised me as well! I hope we get to see more of Makarov's background in the next couple of chapters.
Holy shit what that a surprise! My jaw was already dropped at Grimore Law, but when they cut to the flashback I was like "No… No..." and BAM! 2nd master of Fairy Tail... I nominate this for new biggest plot twist this arc has had. All in favor?
This arc is just begin awesome.
The fact that Hades is actually master of Makarov makes "everything" seems like Makarov will die. Or both will die.

Beat me to it. In just a few chapters Mashima made Mest memory magic make sense, put in play the most fearsome mage that has ever existed and now this. All awesome.
Oh wow, that caught me off guard
Fucking love this arc, so many plot twists it's ridiculous
My face…

I've been totally caught off guard. Keep it up Mashima. Keep this one awesome all the way until the end.
Ugh, I was liking this chapter up to when it was revealed that the big bad was Markarov's former master. What a shitty plot twist.
Yeesh, Makarov just keeps on triggering those death flags. When a older character in shonen is facing down the biggest, baddest threat yet, and starts flashbacking to his origin story, that's never, ever a good sign.
It's kind of strange. Fairy Tail itself is full of camaraderie to an almost suffocating extent, so it really makes me wonder how the master's son, let alone one of its own masters, have turned to evil.
All I'm going to comment on in regards to the OVA is quote someone here from when that chapter was originally released, and that's why does Japan insist on putting little girls in their pin-ups?
@Thousand:

Dude, you're just a troll now. Shut up.
That was an awesome plot twist. Hades being the 2nd Guild Master was probably not the dark secret that Makarov mentioned, but it is pretty cool. And 40 year old Makarov looked cool, too. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Also, I'm thinking his name is supposed to be Pureheart. Would make the most sense, considering that's the name of the Dark Guild he founded.
Just how old is Hades?
He looked pretty old in the flashback already.
Just how old is Hades?
He looked pretty old in the flashback already.
If I had to guess, I'd say considering the fact that he was calling Makarov "boy" in the flashback, he's at least 20-30 years older than him, maybe even double his age at the time. So that could make him anywhere from 100-120. Considering he calls himself Hades now, I'd guess he found some way of extending his life through Dark Magic, probably Necromancy.
Caprico is reallllly badass.
