So we had Hancock filler , Jimbei/Ivankov filler , so who do you think is up next ?
Buggy, Mr 3, Mihawk, Ace, Garp…etc
Kizaru did a hat trick btw, he's really the man of the match.

We're pretty much due for something with Crocodile I think (and maybe Mr 1).
Also Buggy.
I want more Crocodile dammit. Show more of the clash with DoFlamingo, or give a bit more airtime to some of the more prominent NW Captains or WB Commanders
@No:
You sick man ?
Remember Impel Down ?
How could I forget?
Buggy-samaaaaa!
Enjoy your twenty minutes of fart jokes . :ninja:
I've watched 468-476
overall Toei fucked the arc up.
I wish they'd prolong the Jozu vs Aokiji and Whitebeard vs Akainu fight in the next ep…
Would be really good filler imo.
But I guess I'm just hoping too much...

If you pause it enough, it can fill an entire hour.
I really hate that Toei has turned Iva into a joke. He was never comic relief in the manga. In fact I thought the entire point to his character is that such a character can be taken seriously despite the appearance and beliefs.
Episode was decent. Disappointed in the lack of a slow motion scene with Joz punch.
Garps punch was awesome. His first move actually made him seem powerful instead of underwhelming like WBs Tsunami and that abysmal Mihawk showing.

what was so underwhelming about these things? :wassat:
Kinda fillerish, but at least it's combat filler, I did love the Momonga/Dalmation guy filler.
The admirals had some really weird face contortions this episode.

That wasn't filler (aside from the chit chat between the VAs of course)

Ivankov not a comic relief in the manga ? oO
if the anime has to have filler then have more commanders fighting marines filler than that Ivankov bit in the begining
The beginning with the silly Iva-chan stuff was just… silly. but the rest of the ep was pretty good. I liked it.
I felt like the bit where Luffy made his statement about Ace being his "only brother" was powerful
! maybe in part because it has more layers of meaning now that I know the truth behind it. Bravo Oda, again, for such fine writing.
It was alright.. I don't remember much details from this time so I don't know what's filler and what isn't. Not much happened and pace is still slow..
I rate this episode 3/5 AAAAAAAAAY-SUUUUUUUUUH's
@I:

I agree :) I got a bit emotional at that line
Even though the Jinbe + Iva filler was lame, I have to admit that Jinbe face with a running nose was the best.
Does anybody have any ideas why the anime named dalmation guy… well, Dalmation? I don't think it's an official name, or if it is, then that's pretty lazy. But I don't think so. Maybe they just gave him a nickname to call him something other than "vice-admiral no. 7".

He talked ?
Maybe he could get a name in the credits then ?
edit v
@ Nolus : well they did name alot of the WB allies before the databook came out .
Plus look at name's like Smoker or John Giant .
Oda sometimes takes the ridiculously easy route .

He has. His name is…. Dalmation...
Edit: Sry, did not notice you edited. But still... Smoker sounds cool, also John Giant. Well, I get used to it. It sounds interesting in japanese. So it's official. Then I'm happy overall.
My avatar stares at my posts strangely, like he was alive...
woah the luffy-begging scene was kinda touching o_O
its all about his voice.. its amazing..
anyway win episode
Ice-ball awesome..
Akainu kicked some major ass. and kizaru was just kizaru
marco was epic also
Akainu kicked some major ass. and kizaru was just kizaru
By Kizaru you mean an outstandingly great shooter, right ?
RIGHT !?
It's is wrong how much I enjoyed this epi.
Good episode, I like how it gives you the feel of an all out war, where everyone is just doing their own thing.
Perhaps the only bit that failed to live up to that, was the Ivankov spoiler (which really I won't even comment lol)
Hmm… well I can say I honestly didn't care much for this episode either, just like the last one.
If I may ask... what are you guys seeing in these episodes that I'm not? What bugs me is that fights keep starting up, and then they don't finish. I'm not sure if one major fight has been completed this entire war. Like 3 months of episodes and no one's been defeated other than Oars Jr. Kizaru must have fought about 5 different major characters by now. It's like I'm constantly getting blue balls each week from being teased with fights, but nothing coming of them, and I don't know about you guys but I'm not particularly entertained by it.
Bleh. Did not like this episode.
Although the scene with Luffy saying that Ace is his only brother was nice, but I felt it was more powerful in the manga.
Did really enjoy seeing the other characters like Izou and Doma, though.
Ok episode. Certainly not the best we've had this arc, but definitely not the worst.
@Monkey:

Not as much as he is in the anime.
Well this is an episode where the toned down blood really shows, I know no one wants to hear it but man it just kinda kills it for me :(

Interesting view.
Which perhaps I could understand. Let me ask you, have you read or are you reading the manga?

No, been anime only.
I agree somewhat. This arc doesn't really have very many completed fights. Because that's not really their goal. Their goal is to get to Ace, not get stuck fighting while they execute him.

I think we all know how this arc would turn out if every single fight that was shown and implied was given episodes upon episodes of undivided attention to themselves…it would turn into Bleach.
On-topic: I liked this episode. It didn't drag at all for me, and yeah, it got really awesome when Akainu and WB clashed. The Marineford Arc is going strong for me so far. ^^
Seems like there are a whole bunch of super grown-up adults watching the show now, eh?
The episode was a good one after all, even the Ivankov filler was totally in-character…
Not as much as he is in the anime.
Reread the part when Luffy reveals Dragon is his father to Ivankov… Still not as much as in the anime?

Yea but it's the Marines' goal to defeat the pirates. If the marines REALLY wanted to execute Ace that badly, Sengoku would just turn slightly to his right and shoot Ace right in the head. It just doesn't make sense that they keep switching opponents back and forth. At the very least, Crocodile vs. Doflamingo should have at least gotten towards some exposition by now.
Case in point, The Strawhats had a goal of rescuing Robin, in the same sort of way and once they made it to Enies Lobby and started picking their opponents, they stuck with them until it was finished. Same with the Alabaster arc and Skypeia. I don't really mind so much if the fights start late, but why can't they stick with one opponent? I think I'm most upset about being teased into thinking a fight is going to start, when it doesn't

I think that the war arc in Bleach has been better than the One Piece arc for that very reason. IMO of course.
Don't get me wrong though, I do Like One Piece's mantra of "Slower pace, less filler". But that aside, I just want to see a real battle, it's been three months. Let's see some fighting.
Edit: Just because I can't let it go without being said, I do think One Piece is the better anime of course….
Robin wasn't going to be executed, though. And I can't think of any time limit in either of those arcs (though in Alabasta there was that bomb). Time is crucial in this arc, even though the Navy keeps saying "Execute Ace!" and then nothing happens . The fights not being completed lends a sort of rush feeling to the arc.
There's at least two fights coming up in I think maybe two episodes that're pretty definitively concluded and another one that is even more so but that's about it for this arc.

Well, yeah, everyone has their own opinions and they are entitled to them. But like stated before, a war is taking place, and in anything that at least resembles a war, it hardly ever turns into a multitude of one-on-one battles. I'll be honest, I didn't even know that the "war arc" in Bleach was a "war arc" until I asked and confirmed it. It just felt too slow to be a war.

I believe Alabaster arc had a time limit since there was a war going on and the king was about to be screwed. But that aside, the marines know that the pirates HAVE to be defeated. That's their objective so it's just odd that they keep letting their opponents escape and swapping them with other fighters.
But let's put that logic aside, as a FAN, I would like to see something other than positioning for the final battle. Plus Doflamingo and Crocodile are the biggest perpetrators here, they should have started fighting ages ago. So I hope that makes sense, I just hate going "Ok Mihawk is going to fight Jozu now… oh wait no he isn't, he's going to fight Luffy, wait no, he's going to fight..." . But yea you're right, it's not the WB pirates' fault, it's the marines for not pressing them down and letting them get away.

Well war or no war. I liked episodes like Soifon vs. Barragan, Stark vs. Shunsui and the two vizards, Hitsugaya vs. Halibel. Sure they were very static and seemed isolated unlike the One Piece war, but there were people that were defeated, so it was satisfying to me.
I'm sure you'll be happy close to the end of the arc. As Crossword said there are some conclusive fights coming up. All hell breaks loose very soon.

Oh I believe that 100%. It's just currently I feel like i'm dating a terrible tease.
That aside, I have loved many episodes of this arc. The past two not so much because they feel transitory.

To each their own. I'll admit, I found some of those fights entertaining too albeit "isolated" like you said. Kira's fight was a personal favorite…don't know why.

I hope Kira gets Bankai soon and is promoted to Captain. He has an interesting Shikai.
Thought the episode was solid except for the very beginning with Iva and Jinbei. The episode did well extending one page panels into entire scenes.
Reread the chapter that's being covered next episode. This can be very good or very bad depending on what scenes they decide to extend.
