true true my mistake but still nami did significantly damage unlike the rest . . . any way they can all probably take out the px's now anyway without even breaking a sweat the question is how are they gonna deal with all the new freaks that their sure to encounter!! remember the new world is like 10 times what the first half of th GL was
Your avatar makes me happy…
I like seeing Shanks =D
He used the back of his sword before (oh wait, wrong manga)
What??? I don't get it. Zoro used the back of his sword before… So why wrong manga?
its quite sad…the pacifistas are so great, but all they're really used for is stopping the grand line. if we ballpark luffy as an avg pirate, then everyone else in NW isj ust as strong :D
He used the back of his sword before (oh wait, wrong manga)
If your referring to Rurouni Kenshin, it wasn't really the back of his sword, although it is a bit confusing, I suppose…

I think it is a bit of a stretch for each of the Strawhats to take on a px without breaking a sweat. The monster trio - no sweat, middle trio - mild difficulty and weak trio - moderate difficulty. They each should be able to defeat one if not then the time skip was a waste and they would be fodder for the new world to chew up and spit out.

I like to image that the Weak tri is gone and now there is just the Monster Trio and the Moderate Six, or whatever, especially looking at chopper and ussop.

They will still be weak compared to the remainder of the crew. They will grow in the journey they take and Oda will give them opponents to fight relative to their strength.
Edit: I still wouldn't put them on par with the likes of Franky, Robin and Brooke, maybe Chopper. When chopper was first introduced, after the use of the rumble ball and seeing monster point I had hoped that he would have been the closest to the monster trio. Hopefully now he can show everyone that he ain't a pet

Compared to mabye yes but they all would fight differnt kinds of people so i dont know if you can call them weaker becuase well, franky wont be able to fight anyone fast XD and ussop probably could so i dont see them as weak anymore, more like they have all become what they need to be to halp the whole group. As Luffy said in Arlong park :3
I dont get why some people are upset that the pacifist was taken out like that if you think about it they are still a big threat would pose a threat to almost everyone but if you consider how many a produced by the goverment frankly i would expect the monster trio to be able to destroy them with relative ease lets not forget the marines true military power comes from there vice admirals and admirals if the pacifist are any stronger then what they are that would seriously upset the world balance more than so i honestly expect each strawhat in 100 or 200 chapters to be able to take down a pacifist with not to much ease but fairly comfortable.
I think you're overestimating pirates in the new world - the PXs did a lot of damage to NW pirates in the war.

Oda will give them opponents to fight that are best suited to their fighting style. Someone like Franky could probably take on a larger variety of opponents compared to Usopp. This is speculation but I still think that the weak trio may be weak compared the pirates that have made a name for themselves in the new world i.e. supernovas or any other pirates that aren't considered top tier

True
Well can't wait to see the other old rookies xD
Roronoa Zoro - The Pirate Hunting Manslayer
@I:
If your referring to Rurouni Kenshin, it wasn't really the back of his sword, although it is a bit confusing, I suppose…
Wasn't Kenshin using the dull side of his blade so as to not kill anyone because he turned from an Awe inspiring Gangsta to a big pussy who apparently dies from plagues and a yeast infection…..?
I dunno...yes I do
Kenshin used a special sword where the curved side, which is usually sharp, is dull and vice versa.

Yea i wasnt expecting ussop to take down Kid and the Lot XD I expect franky to take down huge monsters with brute power. I meen, Little Oars Junior wasnt even in the White beard pirate just a WB Freindly NW Crew so heavens knows what else is there :D It will be one hell fo a ride :3
Simple. Sprouting her body parts inside the body of her oponent, essentailly killing them from the inside . I doubt even Whitebeard would have survived if his heart was crushed from the inside, there is a sudden fist inside his throat or if his lungs were filled with hair and so on and so on. The way Robin can kill you are as endless as they are gross
Hence why I doubt they would ever go this route with Robin. It would overpower her way too much not to mention that it would probably be a bit too brutal
That's why I am hoping for the Robin growing herself to giant size option :) That would both give her enough power to keep up with the rest of the strawhats and won't overpower her too much. And that way if they a fishment fora crewmate they would have a complete set of all major races. Human, fish and giant :)
I'm absolutely certain that Oda said Robin can only grow things in places where there is enough room for them to fit.
Man can't wait to see the continuation of the #1 joke when they get on the ship. XD

Hopefully should be, considering that it is Oda he won't disappoint.
Im of the opinion that there no longer is a weak trio. Everyone is going to be legendary in their own right. And be almost equally respected and feared throughout the OP world.
Question: if a pacifista scanned Ussopp would it recognize him as SogeKing? and will ussopp gain his own bounty or be continue to be known as Sogeking??

Only the fodder.

Later on but not at the present time. Chopper, Nami and Usopp will grow with the opponents they fight, fighting named pirates and getting recognition. They will be legendary at the end of the manga. I don't consider these 3 equal in strength to the middle 3, but I'm secretely hoping Chopper is because I was disappointed when he got lumped with Nami and Usopp to make the weak trio
Edit: Kuma recognized him so the Pxs should
#1 Joke needs explaination.
Doesn't have to be Perona, but if it's gonna be a running gag, I think it should have some sort of foundation. :P

Well… What if Chopper can control all of his points now? That would change the situation...
The Marines even commented on it, that the crew is unusually small but everyone on it is dangerous. If they find the need to comment on it, then we can assume it isn't normal. So its probable that the great majority of pirates at Marineford didn't have a DF, know haki, or were particularly noticeable in their own right.
Remember there was that guy who joined Shanks, he had like a 80 million bounty which would be moderately respectable in the first half, but acknowledged that he was still a rookie. Probably most of WB's crew was around that level, strong against normal people or regular marines but nowhere near strong enough to make a name for themselves.

Um,its the order the arived on Sabondy in and Zoro ranks them in that order.

I get that much, but how did Zoro get there first? His wrong ship introduction clearly suggest he's still not a candidate for best navigator. The way it is now, he just randomly appeared first and yet it's being brought up every chapter.
Well… What if Chopper can control all of his points now? That would change the situation...
Yeah, that is what I am secretly hoping for. He can fully control monster point, or something similar that isn't slowly killing him whilst he's in that state, and some new transformations. Oda can go wild with this because there's so many routes he can go with the transformations. Oda being the creative genius that he is shouldn't disappoint with this and has some awesome transformations lined up for Chopper, but I'm afraid that he still might be grouped with the other 2

What he MEANT was that we need an explanation for how the hell Zoro got there first. It's become a huge running joke already, since Zoro couldn't find his way into a city from THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE CITY.

Probably fate. He is spewing the same stuff as Mihawk and nearly went to Fishman Island without knowing
Edit: It may be a running joke with him getting to a destination my taking the most unorthodox route
My opinion: Zoro was a few days early so he thought he could examine a bit the surroundings before entering the city… And ended up walking straight into the city.

That still leaves plenty of room. As I pointed out she can fill someones lungs with her hair (or somones heart), grow a hand inside someones throat blocking their air and there is actually enough space inside the human body for a few fingers who can do a lot of damage. Hell considering she is a prodigy who knows what she can think if she spends some time studying Choppers books. Hence why as I mentioned this would be a bad direction to go. Way too overpowered

I'm guessing the PXs (and every other non-nameless marine) will recognize him. But his wanted poster will still stay as Sogeking as a running gag. We've never seen her replicate her hair, I don't know that she can. Don't know that she can't.
When Oda said there has to be enough room for something to grow, I took it to mean there has to be enough room that it doesn't touch anything. Yes, you could fit a finger inside someone's heart or throat, but that would require the tissue in quesiton stretching to accomodate it. Which is where I assume the line is drawn and it can't work.

Mihawk told him to go get him a beer and he ended up on Sabaody. Since Mihawk never got his beer, the rivalry burns anew.

A mere strong luck, probably. Remember when Zoro got lost at the skypiea? Dude had no idea where the south is(eventhough he's hanging out with a friggin' SOUTHbird), but before he knew it he's at the center of the battle already.
That or Zoro has finally gained some CoO skill to support his sense of directions.

I figure either Mihawk took him, or he left like 9 months ago and ended up on every other island in the GL other than where he wanted to be.

Actually no, she can't, during the sky island arc she says she can only grow limbs in places she can see http://somemanga.com/alt/One_Piece/231/citymanga.com/14/ well sorta anyway, she could grow a fist inside someones mouth but only if it was open already. Then again I could be reading too much into what the said there, she could just have to be able to she where the object is.

Chopper wasn't exactly weak. He was just young and inexperienced.
Chopper had the mind of a 15 years old and studied medicine while Luffy trained since he was 5 and was 17.
Chopper's mind is at least 17 now and besides getting more experience in several stuff (probably) he's grown and gotten stronger. I think we can expect great things from him.

How could she catch something she couldn't see? She grew limbs on the opposing side of a door in Alabasta.
She can grow limbs if she knows where stuff is, but doesn't actually need to see it.
Chopper did grow. He's BIIIIIG now!
I think you misunderstood the if I can see it part.
Robin wanted to say: I can catch what I see. And not: I can only grow limbs on things I see.
For example when Usopp was drowning in Skypeia http://somemanga.com/alt/One_Piece/237/citymanga.com/8/ she grew an Eye on Luffys Hand without beeing able to see the part where she grew her hand.
So I guess it's more like a: I need to know where I have to grow it.
–--
And by the way: She usually lowers her head and CLOSES her eyes when she uses her power.

This was a great chapter! I liked how Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji defeated the Pacifistas so easily. Also, it was good seeing Sentoumaru again, and it was cool how he one hit the fake Strawhat with his axe. Anyways, my prediction for the next chapter is that the crew be reunited, and will start to set sail for Fishman Island.
Physicians are now analyzing luffys new strength applying real world formulas to a fictional world imagined by one author for 10 years old guys.
Anyone got a better idea for how to pass the time between now and the next chapter? Would you rather dredge up the Usual Suspects: (1) who is stronger (2) who has the biggest boobs (3) what is One Piece, (4) where is Raftel (5) who will join the crew next…
Personally, I love it when people make off-the-wall-but-rigorously-researched scientific, political or psychological theories about the OP universe. Gives my brain something fun to chew on when I'm doing mindless stuff during the day.
Hey dints. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the reboot, especially after seeing how time skips completely destroyed my enjoyment of a couple of other series. Oda has done an impressive job allowing the characters to develop over the two years without losing their identities.
Howdy!
I get the impression from his interviews and stuff that Oda has OP on the mind 24/7 – that it's not just his "day job" -- and that could be what separates him from the other mangaka in question, by caring more about his characters than the others do.
My one persistent worry though is that the inherent nature of the mission has now changed. Previously, the crew were a group of individualistically motivated people grouped together because their dreams were compatible. Now we have Usopp already having accomplished his goal to be a "Strong Warrior of the Sea." Zoro, who once threatened to disembowel Luffy if he got in the way of his ambition, has now swallowed his pride to become stronger for Luffy sake, not Kuina's. Sanji went through Okama hell for two years only because Luffy needed him. Nami cried because she couldn't be there to help luffy through a rough period.
Interesting point. And I do admit that I wondered about that too. And not all of the decisions Oda made about where the crew ended up (and with whom they trained) sat comfortably in my mind. Some, like Chopper's, still feel rushed and "forced" to me. ("Oda-san, didn't you forget to make something for Chopper to learn? And who to train him?" "Arrrgghhh! You're right, and the deadline's tomorrow. Give me a minute to think up something…")
I guess the reason why it doesn't worry me so much now, is because it feels natural that at this point in time, the crew would want to reunite for the sake of Luffy. They've all found out about his Impel Down and Marineford actions, about the loss of Ace, and so on through either the news or through their mentors. And it's not hard to imagine that they all
felt guilty or sad for not being there to help him when they were most needed. Also, each crew-mate (with the exception of Zoro, who was pawd before the others) saw Luffy's desperation and devastation whenever Kuma "disappeared" another crewmate, so that image of Luffy helplessly screaming would be strong in their minds as well. It was the last time they saw him -- or the other crewmates -- in person.
So it makes sense to me -- at this moment in time -- that they would be totally Luffy-focused, and want only to get back to him as soon as possible (and as strong as possible) -- because they don't know who he is with, how he is faring, and what sort of danger he's in. They don't want him to have to lose -- or lose them -- again, because they know their dreams are tied to his.
For Zoro, the case is a little bit different, because he didn't get to see Luffy's reaction to losing crewmates. But I think what drove Zoro to the same conclusion was the realization that he'd been mostly a liability during that final battle, -- literally unable to stand and fight for crew and captain, and though he'd taken a bullet (figuratively) for them all in TB and that was the source of his injuries -- or the main one, at least -- as long as he was still alive, he was determined to keep Luffy's dream alive, since his depended on it.
And yes,it's true that the whole goal of asking for training from Mihawk was to become strong enough not to let Luffy down again, but the strong way he says "To overcome you!" makes me think that he hasn't completely abandoned his original goal -- he's just allied it more closely with helping Luffy.
I don't think that Usopp has fully realized his dream yet. I think he's much stronger and a lot more confident, but that as soon as he gets in his next big fight, we'll see some of the old worries and confidence issues return.
I suppose this makes them a more tightly bound group than ever, but it might also mean that the story going forward will be more Luffy centric. It will be Luffy + supporting cast. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I agree with the first part of the first sentence, but can only say for the second part "we'll have to wait and see." From what we've seen so far in the two "new" chapters, the crew appears to be as "individual" and as important as their Captain – and with almost as much screen time -- as ever.
Apologies for length.
Ditto. And for the grammar and spelling too.Didn't get to proof read this one.
I liked this chapter a lot! It felt really nostalgic. It's the like beggining of a whole new adventure.
Can't wait to see what Oda has in store for the future!
Do we ever see her grow something behind her? I can't recall, but I also can't remember every time she used her DF.
Furtunately I do….
Nah not really, but I remembered this because it was something that bothered myself at one point.

the way i see it nami and usopp have log surpassed their previous level of power and while we can expect that they will fight ppl best suited to their characters i think it's safe to say that each member of the crew will make a mark by taking down someone who has a clear advantage as we have actually seen before (Arlong and the CP9) compared to the rest they probably are still extremely weak BUT they are strong enough that we can expect to see them take down some formidable foes.
@FolhaS:
Chopper wasn't exactly weak. He was just young and inexperienced.

She can grow limbs if she knows where stuff is, but doesn't actually need to see it.
in regards to chopper i always believed him to be on the same level as (or at least extremely close to) robin and fanky ( i cant say about brook because honestly he hasn't been displayed in any proper combat) except he lacked control, maturity and only had 3 minutes. i think now we can officially put him up there with the big boys (if we can somehow ignore his stupidity)
Robin is extremely powerful and i think the only difference between her and the three monsters is the fact that she doesn't have a massive amount of physical strength. she has already proven that she doesn't need to see her target to have her body parts grow (ropes, wings etc.) but i don't think that she would be able to grow parts inside ppl's organs and stuff. Since no one has actually seen the revolutionary army in action we have no idea what dragon could have thought her but we can assume that like franky and chopper he will have better control and a new method of using her powers!!
Anyone got a better idea for how to pass the time between now and the next chapter? Would you rather dredge up the Usual Suspects: (1) who is stronger (2) who has the biggest boobs (3) what is One Piece, (4) where is Raftel (5) who will join the crew next…
i'd go with (3) or (5)
