I finally beat Yama in Spelunky on my PS3, yesterday. Also, I'm so glad that they patched in the daily challenge. That's going to have me playing a lot more. It's such a good game.

RE: Post how your day was…
I swept my room by my own volition for the first time in like, ever. It was definitely needed. You could literally see small clumps of dust and dog hair on the wood floor. I think it was actually making me sick, so I had to draw the line and stop being lazy. I feel much better now, as a matter of fact.

RE: E3 2013
Ah, I'm really relieved. People were saying that Sony would adopt similar policies to the XBone, but I can say that I'm fully satisfied with how the conference went. It was exciting and even funny to see Sony address the used game and DRM issues. That second half of it was truly amazing.

RE: Post how your day was…
Passed two certification exams in my computer class at the technical school across the street from the high school. I didn't think I'd pass the second, though, as I didn't go through any of the material, so I was pleasantly surprised at the results. However, my other fellow high school students took the test that I passed at my first go a few months ago for the third or fourth time, I think. I also believed that they all failed to pass, again. Just seems really strange to me.
After school, I finally beat Outland. Last boss was a definite toughie. Great game. After that, I finally downloaded and started Xenogears, which I bought over a year ago. I'm really digging the story, so far.
EDIT: More stuff that I did/thought during the day. Straight after school, my dad took me to apply for a tutoring job for the Summer. The thing that my aunt (she works there, herself) didn't tell me about it was that they don't hire high school students. Kind of bummed out, as I was looking forward to using the money gained from it toward buying lots of games. Oh well, my mother suggested that I could instead work for the Burger King on our street, but I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Me passing those two exams I told you about pre-edit presents me with an interesting dilemma: I was thinking about dropping the class for some more exciting electives next year, but I don't know if I should, considering how swell I'm doing.

RE: General Music Thread
@The:
what the fuck
Yeah, I don't know what's up with this guy.
@Nobodyman:My 3-years-ago self probably would have, sadly.
No, even then I would have done my research if I was teaching people or making some kind of comprehensive list. This guy sounds like a pretty lousy teacher.
Yeah, it reeks of laziness and just a lack of dedication to his students. I mean, living in a small town, you don't expect great teachers or anything, but even most have some kind of passion for what they do. Probably too prideful to admit when he's wrong, too.

RE: General Music Thread
I swear, the music that my sister's Music Appreciation teacher chooses to go over is absurd, at best! Would any of you ever consider making a rock history list (hi Zeph!) and include artists like Journey, the Eagles, Third Eye Blind, No Doubt, and Green Day while leaving off others like the Rolling Stones, the Who, David Bowie, Ramones, REM, U2, Radiohead or even countless others? The amount of musicians that are more important is mind-boggling. And presumably he's doing this with all the other genres, as well, though at the moment I'm more familiar with rock. In the jazz list I only recognized Louis Armstrong, but he left out Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, etc. It's like he just slapped together a list of his favorite artists in each genre without researching at all. Next thing you know, he'll be forsaking Prince for the Human League in the pop lists.

RE: Post How Your Day Was..
My mom comes back from Mexico tomorrow after leaving us all alone for an entire Winter break. We'll go and pick her up at the airport at noon, which means that I won't be going to school. It's fine by me because I wasn't able to attain a copy of the take home test we were supposed to do over vacation for AP American History that was mysteriously stolen from my backpack.

RE: Happy New Year
Happy New Years, guys. I'm kind of apprehensive about it because if the yearly trend continues, then I'll just retreat further into my shell and talk less and less. I guess that's being pessimistic, though, so I hope 2013 brings wonderful things for everyone.

Are those like pickles?
Yeah, they're like total pickles, in the truest sense of the word. [Unfortunately, not pickles that I (or anyone else in my family) like, though]

RE: Post How Your Day Was..
Yesterday, among other things in the grocery store, I jokingly said that I wanted sweet gherkins. When talking to my dad she mentioned this and I mentioned the sweet gherkins again because they have a funny name. It looks like she didn't know I was kidding because, apparently, this morning she went back to the grocery store and bought some sweet gherkins. They taste weird. Those probably aren't going to be touched again.
