About Zoro being the last one… As someone has said, we know already Zoro's comments about he is weak, that he needs to improve and that's why a chapter about that, it's not needed.
But, it would make sense if he, instead, thinks about being the right-hand, the first mate, to help the other SHs and of course, Luffy. Also, Mihawk could encourage to be the first mate and explain about importance of the role in a pirate ship. So next chapter title: "first mate".
The ship just got updated, from Merry to Sunny…
Anyway Franky said he will learn new ways to updgrade it in the chapter like others said, or you just see the pretty pictures?
The pretty pictures of course. Didn't you notice the unicorn in the background?
And the Merry wasn't updated. It was given a Viking Funeral and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. The Thousand Sunny is a completely different ship with only the spirit of the Going Merry. You should know this. Unless, that is of course you were just looking at the pretty pictures in that chapter. Understandable.
As for why I want an update on the Thousand Sunny it's simply because of what I said the first time. To see what was happening with Kuma and Shakky.
goes back to looking at the pretty pictures

What compelled you to believe that this chapter is boring/lack quality and need to be made-up?
I criticize many chapters, but not this one.

i didn't think it was very interesting. the only part i found interesting was robins story. next chapter should be more interesting to me personally since zoro is one of my favs and it might reveal luffy's message which is very interesting to me.
@I:
She does doesn't she? She looks suddenly younger, and happy, which I imagine is a relatively unfamiliar emotion for her, lol.
It's the blush highlights!
worst Chapter ever! Who cares about Fat-Lad and Metal-Face?
Robin and Nami were okay. Sad not to see something about our bisexual cook.

You are for real. Robin's part is the least interesting/most predictable/unfunniest part of this chapter. It didn't even give any clue of new direction. Nami's and Usopp's part are close second but at least the suicide attempt is better, and the pop greens thing increase the curiosity.
Nami is my favourite strawhat but it doesn't change the fact that her part is the second least interesting.
Wow, after a 2 week break everyone has such insanely high expectations. If this chapter was released without a break there would no complaints.
Robin is very cute in this chapter. I think Sabo will end up escorting her back to SA too.
Ussop being physically stronger.. He might upgrade his sling with a very strong elastic on Booing so he can match the multi mile sniping ability of Auger.

I wouldn't complain, but I would still think it was a meh chapter.

People are complaining about this chapter? WTH. We get plot development on a lot of characters (some more predictable than others; all but Robin containing some comedy or intrigue), and you say it's boring and "meh"? OK, hold on a second while I look for a manga with constant battles and action to satisfy you… oh, look, Bleach!
@ Sea: Off topic here. I just realize that both of us has similar avatars. (photoshoping someone who looks like a OP char). And I was wondering if theres anyone else doing the same, it'd be kinda cool to gather the entire OP cast using real life people
I admit that Robin had a nice character development there, which is why I still enjoyed her part. But it doesn't change the fact that this development is predictable. And, Nami's part gave us something to get excited about: the weather ball and its destructive power, same for Usopp's part, gave us something to get curious about: the pop greens. These two thing are new to us, thus attract interest. While Robin's part gave us no clue how she will get stronger, no new direction about it (she will get stronger with Dragon and everyone knew this). By the definition of "interesting", I rank her part the least interesting. However, I took back the weakest part, for it is too general.

Cool. I remember someone has Hulk Hogan as Whitebeard.

Should we make a new thread for this or is there one already? I'm a fairly decent photoshopper myself so if anyone has a good picture of someone similar to one of OP chars I could help editing 'em

Depending on the waiting times, my expectations are slighty different. I don't have the same expectations for a chapter of a monthly series and one of a weekly series for example. Anyway, that wasn't Oda's fault.
Those are things we basically know before. I didn't need this chapter to know that Nami was important for the survival of the crew. Their resolution was the only thing that was important. The fact they were predictable and that the pattern were identical prevent me from enjoying it.
Overall it wasn't a bad chapter, but I think it wasn't good either. Just meh.
I personally think the chapter was pretty nice. Not as awesome the the previous ones, but still a nice chapter which I enjoyed alot.

wow the text translation is really different from mangastream's.
Usopp! I love this guy.

I found Robin’s part to be the most eye-opening development she has had in a long time. This chapter showed some substantial side effect of her past. It makes her more interesting for me, more human than say if she got some new power up, a “ball” or a “pop green”. Power-ups are superficial, they are not what makes characters compelling. Robin up to Enies Lobby, and a little bit less afterwards, was one of the most unbelievable characters for me. Someone with her childhood I thought would have more problems getting along with people, and this was the first time I saw that her past had an everyday affect on her. I went: aha, she wasn’t necessarily normal, and had a difficult time trusting others, but look at how much she trusted and loved her crewmates. The scene all in all gave me a better understanding of how powerful her commitment was to the SH’s.

Wow, am envious. I can defiantely feel a difference when having to wait an extra week. It feels as if my wednesday/thursday present didn't come.
Next Chapter, we'll whats the message after Zozo Decode it slowly with His Rare Brain.

And she's drawn cuter now!! Development you can believe in!!
Usopp rly got here (once again) the best chara development..
Understanding finally what Luffy meaned back during the Arlong-battle, (that he rely on each strenght of his nakama) also Usopp now completely understood.
Also he,who always was the weakest, nor realized that which sure is a great achievement and a good built up for a later reunion and restart where everyone of the crew is 100% rdy to take the world!!

Well, I am fine with that. Each to his own, in this case, I guess. Your isn't a bad argument. Personally, I think manga is mainly about "What's next?". Robin's part gave me the least of that feeling. It's not about power-up, but new direction. However I enjoyed her part, that is all. Nami's part and Usopp's part are very human too.

Read, It's Klinsmann.
Getting back on topic, This Chapter makes everyone of the crewmates remember what they can do for Ruffy. And that's really heartbreaking to see!
Especially Fat-Lads note on "Ruffy can't beat everyone."

Seriously, it's too tiring and boring for something that is not really a big deal. I just explain why I and some others didn't think this chapter was that good, but that's just one chapter.
This chapter is handled in a way it should be. The repeated structure is a rhyme, a chorus, a beat. That gave an impression of a strong unison, a strong bond. Events are necessary. So I said it's well-done, that's all. Impossible to make every chapter is out-standing and stunning. So I see no reason to complain.
people just need to complain.. that's all
Really people who are bitching about this chapter should stop to read mangas… From time to time we need some character developement and story telling. It can't be all action all the time... And really this chapter was about the MAIN characters (who are left out for a whole year) and their progression but people prefer chapter with no MAIN characters and just showing of some SN and cool location with no connetction to the crew?
You know, the pop green thing is quite interesting if you think about it. I mean, if Ussop were to use it as a weapon as well, which is more than probable, than just how many seeds is he going to have to bring from the boin archipelago? Is he going Gaara with u huge flask on his back or is he going to plant the seeds on the going merry (probably not a good idea seeing it makes things grow oversize, that's what I understood anyway.) The point is that he can't have an unlimited supply of pop green with him at all times so how is he going to do it?
Also, I think the Sh are going to have a huge advantage when they actually go the the New World. If you look at what Nami is going to learn about the New World weather patterns and Robin, who will most likely stock up on a whole bunch of important information about the place as well and Chopper learning about strange plants that are only to be found on that island and Sanji learning attack cuisine I believe they will be the most prepared bunch of all the Supernova by far even thought they will be there quite a bit later. I can see 1 or 2 supernova crews extra to have fallen prey to the New World by then or having become subordinates of some yonkou because they didn't have a choice (like: join me or be destroyed)

Maybe fill them in a Dial which can hold about a ton of it.
But those Pop Greens are rly interesting…sure something which combined with dials and his sniper abilitys could make him a brave warrior^^
IMO the chapter cover was the best outta this chapter xD
Well, I'm not dissapointed, since I was seeing this coming. Nami's going as expected, Robin was really cute, Franky is cool as usual, and Ussop's is interesting. But personally I was enjoying these few chapters since I have been missing the Strawhats a lot. :D
It's a good chapter for me~ not meh at all.
Well, to be honest, that won't really cut it. Seeing Van auger shot a seagull from a rooftop in Jaya that fell on the strawhats boat while the strawhats themselves, including Ussop, couldn't even see an island yet from their boat. Ussop will have to do something 'bout that eyesight of him.
its great to have SHs back i missed them
good chapter but not as exciting and adiciting as last
i hate myself for not noticing ace instead asce
I am music-illiterate, so I didn't get the Bone to be Wild joke, but when I saw people mentioned it, I chuckled. Cool.
just search "steppenwolf - born to be wild" on youtube. What I actually noticed in the song is that it really says: "looking for adventure and whatever comes our way"

How should he increase his eyesight?
He can just use sniper goggles but hasn`t he already one of the best?(the one page where Usopp buys them in Lougetown says so or?)
indeed, but if, in the end, it'll come down to a true sniper fight against van auger (like in behind enemy lines) Ussop will need to have matched van auger's eyesight or he'll be doomed. Van auger could hit him from miles away.
Nice chap. now there is only zoro and luffy left. Hope 2 see some luffy haki training with rayleigh ,and maby we will get an explanation on the subject
I rly hope Zoro wont train with Mihawk..but i also can
t rly imagine that.
But just fighting all Baboons doesn`t seem to be enough, maybe Mihawk at least tell him something about using his Haki more(ashura).
Could be fitting for the chapter that Luffy and Zoro each in their own way learn that technique^^
I don't know, eventually the monkeys will know all his techniques and he will have to learn to counter his own techniques, allowing him to see were the wholes in his defense are. He will have a hard time winning and won't get any further with his current techniques so he will have to find something new. Perhaps, bringing zoro to the point that he is so frustrated that he can't move ahead will activate his Haki, just like Luffy at the war when they want to slice Ace's head off.
Also, I know that Zoro trained in a Dojo a long time ago but at this point he isn't the kind of man to accept lessons from Mihawk, his sworn nemesis, his true goal. It's like Luffy learning Haki from blackbeard
When Usopp said, "I am going to become the true King of Sniping" the Sogeking song went through my head!
@Mr.:
Chopper with Hiruluk and Kureha still with Dalton as king.
Non-cyborg Franky with Iceburg as the heads of Galley-La.
Robin still at Ohara with her mother and Saul.
Brook with his crew meeting with Laboon back at the Twin Capes. It's a bit harder to come up with a similar situation with Usopp and Sanji for me though.
Yasop teaching to child Usopp how to use a slingshot
Sanji with Zeff's clothes managing the Baratie or kickin' someone in the face
Not bad, but I wish these side-stories could go faster (although it's not really possible, I know)

Yeah, the Baboons sure are the once that give him a good training, but in my eyes thats not rly what i hoped for his development.
But we will see, when you will be right that this hard training will bring Zoro to overcome himself(his techniques)and so to learn Haki(which he sure have inside him, seeing him use ashura).
But non the less Zoro has to learn Haki(or another technique) for the NW in my eyes.
That Mihawk is Zoros sworn enemy..ehhm, he doesn
t have a grudge against him.
Mihawk is just at the top and he wants to reach him..it`s more like a sportive rivalry^^
Hey, btw, what happened to side-effects of Iwan hormones on Luffy?
