Well, the way I formulated this was a bit problematic but the fact remains that putting Goku up there killed any competition because everyone and their parents know Goku while most people haven't read the classics. And out of the people I know, most people who know Goku just watch 1-5 series and therefore lack the experience.

I know it's not canon, but I can't help losing respect for Goku after Super Saiyan 4. Why does such an abomination exist? The horror…
So I'm going with Kenshin!! but Guts is also pretty badass. I haven't gotten very far in the series though. I'm in the middle of the second flashback or something.

For those interested, the Star Wars mangas covered all three movies andwere released stateside, by Darkhorse, I think. But it was a few years back at this point, they might be a little hard to find.
The interior art is actually really good.

Without Lupin the Third, Mazaki may never had gotten furthur ahead in his development of film and thus, Ghibli wouldn't be around and Totoro wouldn't have appeared in Toy Story 3.
This is awesome. I saw Toy Story 3 recently and practically jumped for joy when I saw Totoro in the movie. maybe we ought to have a "best Miyazaki character" contest. that would be exciting…

Ok, last post on that matter.
I'm not saying it's bad that you like Goku, in fact he is a very memorable hero and a good Shounen character. Problem is, that most of the people that read manga nowadays started with DB, and that DB is the most popular manga/anime franchise in the world after Pokemon (Naruto doesn't count, that is too new). But because of that we have MASSES of fans who would vote for Goku anytime, thus making this competition kind of redundant. Goku IS the most popular Shounen protagonist, but we wanted a nice filler match and some suspense. Because you see, how can you expect other characters (who sometimes are in series that most countries can't even read like LW&C) to win against this popularity monster. It's not your love that I criticize, it's that the base of this competition is slightly biased.And now we either finish this conversation or do this per PM. This is enough off-topic.
