He's certainly the most human-like one of the crew ( and no he's not a coward). His evolution through the manga was great to witness, he doesn't have a superhuman strenght but when he has decided to do something he will do it.

This dude is a clear representation of the manga spirit, but tell me if he has had serious role as a fighter. Aside from that, he hasn't ever elaborated on why it is impossible for Perona to get the other "stuff" that she lacks, even though she obviously has never been written off to "fail" at those things– due to them never ever being revealed.

Well, there's really nothing against her character from JOINING, at least nothing to rationally note.
You can't claim that she's unable to get a sad past, chance to join, and a whole entire elaborate explanation that allows her to deepen her range with her devil fruit. Plus, you could easily see a personality of hers that differs from the other crew members, and a whole lot of other stuff that could easily appear.
You cannot argue things that remove her character from joining like Jinbei's unknown island situation and Hancock's known island-without-a-solution situation…
Perona was already removed from Moria in the manga, and she's free to do as she pleases-- especially if Oda is using her as a character who will have a bigger role in the future...

We've been at a standstill since chapter 560; or something around then.
Since nothing is changing, the wait is all that's going to eventually decide what Perona's reintroduction leads to… You've established absolutely nothing at all, as I have yet to convince you that her reintroduction is going to hint towards her at least acting like a "Vivi-like" character that guides them. However, I like to assume that this is beyond Vivi since it's turned into a hunch, I claim she'll join eventually.

So if I got this right, the core argument is simply that of the hax devil fruit along with an "It hasn't happened before, so it can't happen now".
The former I can partially agree with too, since she has indeed a rather broken devil fruit, however seeing as Haki is currently being more and more hyped into the story line, I feel that the problem is going to resolve itself very soon, whether she is to join or not.
The last thing, assuming it's about how she has no sad past and yet doesn't cut it for the other standard patterns, is just crap. It's back again to the part where arguers are stuck in the past, thinking that what hasn't happened yet can't happen in the future. I guess this bottoms in how Jinbei (probably) and Hancock have known sad pasts and have already started interacting with Luffy, hence they could be concidered more likely, but let's look again. Interaction with Luffy is just a matter of current time, and it will resolve itself before Perona is going to join. As for sad pasts, let's look at the other crew members and when their pasts were revealed:
Zoro: After interaction with Luffy, moments before he joined.
Nami: Arlong Park, after she joined temporarily.
Usopp: Dunno if it's concidered a real flashback, but Kaya revealed it right after he joined.
Sanji: Had his flashback after Luffy started concidering him a crew member. Chopper: Had his flashback after Luffy's decision to recruit him.
Robin: Do I really need to say anything?
Franky: Surprise.
Brook: After Luffy asked him to join.As you can see above, the majority of crew member flashbacks have occurred either as a surprise or after it's already been made clear that they're joining. Hancock and Jinbei do not follow this pattern. I do however not believe in patterns, so this is more to show that I don't think the matter of lacking a flashback in current time is relevant. Perona is free to have one even after it's been made clear that she's joining, if such were to happen.
To the people that talked about Perona supporters not counter-arguing the "core argument", does this qualify enough?

I mean, unlike Jinbei and Hancock, Perona, at her current position and stage, can join the crew NOW– not after further development and all that jazz.
She doesn't need a "save Amazon Lilly Arc, Fishman Island Arc, or something that explains how a certain character turns isolated" because she already gained that explanation as the story progressed. Which, I believe that these odd instances lead to something happening, otherwise she would have remained by Moria's side, like a fodder character would.
We all know that having Jinbei join before Fishman Island happens is rather absurd. Having Hancock just leave without any closure is ridiculous. We all know that Margueritte leaving with Luffy is pointless, and several other situations...
We are still on Amazone Lily. You don't know what will happen now. Maybe Nyon comes along and says to Luffy that he has to take Hancock with him. Maybe Hancock want's to tag along herself. Maybe she sends Margueritte with him?
You don't know. Anyways, Hancock could easily join right now. Her dream could be to gain the love of Luffy or just to be with him. Stupid dream? Maybe… but it is one! Another one could be to save people from the grasps of Slavery.
Plus, Hancock had more Foreshadowing then Perona does:

The only theory I've got of those two Schichibukai joining is because to make the team of Luffy on par with Blackbeards:
Blackbeard Shiryuu and the 4 prisoners are level 6 material.
At the end of the serie probably the whole crew would become level 6 material. But right know:
Franky and Robin are the only level 6 prisoners... this would mean if both Hancock and Jinbei would join they got 4 Level 6 prisoners... prob. 2 farfetched =P.
Oh well, I don't know what I would like. Nobody's joining the crew and making names while kicking asses? Or people who are already quite known through the world?

Brooke: Brooke's flashback just showed what we had already found out way before any of the TB battling even started.Perona has a complete and utter zero in terms of the story wondering at her past and potential conflict. An absolute zero. No weight of character exists for her at all, not even in the arc where she played her minor role.
She is absolutey nothing like any of the Strawhats on any matter of relevance.
Every single one of those characters had a flashback and past obvious either right away, or not long after their appearance.
