Red-Flag Sellers: Where NOT to Buy OP Merch
-

@No:
Did you try getting a refund ?
I contacted them about the items' condition, but they only answered that they were very sorry and that was it.
It wasn't expensive or anything, so I didn't really bother to "fight" for it ^^; -
Then again you would probably have to provide pictures or something .
But yeah I agree , getting refunds from people who live in another country can be…..problematic .

Just wonder if anyone still have bad experience with Toyslogic, if they still do, please post here or email us.
Sorry this is really not meant to be an advertisement, but more an apology and to show my sincerity to all the One piece fans.

That's nice of you but kind of odd seeing as how there's already the pre-order discount that lasts within the same time frame and isn't that much more expensive than the one listed in your post.
EDIT: Note that it's actually quite great for most every other figure that's already out, of course. I'm just nitpicking with the Whitebeard example.
-
I decided to give Toys Logic a chance when I saw they had the Boa DX figure. Which makes me wonder how many they're getting in since it's rumored to be a limited editon prize figure.

when did you buy them?
-
The thing about buying pre-orders on ebay is unless the item is coming out in 30 days they're not allowed to take pre-orders for it. This is because you have a time limit to file a claim if you get scammed.
-
-
Can anybody attest to the reliability of Bigbadtoystore.com?
-
Yup. They're very reliable and have been around for awhile.
-
Ok here is my take on Otacute.
They admitted to me they automatically charge you for the weight of the box, which they ALWAYS believe it to be short of 3 pounds. The "shipping estimate" you get is the BASE price they would charge you to ship an EMPTY BOX.
I just recieved a TINY box that weighs less then a pound, and was charged like it weighed 5. I was charged like it weighed as much or more then the box my 3 POPs just arrived in the other week.
So I'm voting thumbs down for Otacute, or atleast a use with caution. The stuff is official but they are overcharging for shipping at an alarming level. I paid $20 to ship a SMALL less then 1 lb box UNREGISTERED SAL.
-
You think that's bad ? Try getting a book shiped . Heck from what I gather 70-80 % of sellers who list books cheaply then over price the shiping , especialy to my country . One german seller , from Germany , a neighbouring country , charged me as much for shipping as he would to have it sent to Chad , in central africa , by air mail .
Nothing new there .
-
You talk as if getting scammed is ok.
I am not stupid and DO NOT OVERPAY when I don't have to overpay.
Europeans are already fucked with their stupid customs, you would think you would be smarter in your shopping when knowing you have customs to pay for if its over a certain price. Bitch about that all you want because it's certainly stupid, I agree, but don't complain about being ripped off because if you have any ounce of intelligence you can AVOID being ripped off.
The guy from Otacute who responded to my rant when they tried to charge me $225 TO SHIP THIS TINY LIGHT BOX VIA EMS that they DELIBERATELY pad their boxes and AUTOMATICALLY charge you for nearly 3 pounds worth of shipping NO MATTER WHAT. They act as if a PLAIN BOX weighs 3 pounds.
Dervish tested this by trying to place an order on an in stock item and found, by default, that they do this too.
Seriously, even after I bitched at them that these were tiny plastic figures and they lowered the price, I still paid $20 for UNREGISTERED SAL. SAL!!!!!! For this size and weight it should've been $7-8 AT THE MOST.
They also have a shipping calculator on their site that they told me was bullshit because there is no way to calculate shipping before they have the physical box in their hands and weigh it, so the shipping estimate they gave me with this back in April was total crap.
Even after fixing the prices, what they were gonna charge me for EMS THEN, for this tiny, light little box was MORE then what I paid in EMS for the Smoker, Croc, and Tashigi POPs in their much larger and heavier box.
This is not how a reputable business, does business, and it's not "so what" to let people know that a company is pulling some underhanded bullshit like this.
And if you're not smart enough to figure out when someone is overcharging you, that's your problem. In this case it wasn't just MY money, but the money of 11 other people that was given to me in order to get these figures, and I don't appreciate on behalf of us all that they wanted to do this.
I give it to them that they were honest about what they did, but being honest about dishonesty doesn't make it better in the least.

should i ask ebay to cancel my transaction and wait till september?
i wan a super DX ace badly~ -
Ordered bunch of stuff from Kirin Hobby the other day.
The items came shipped in excellent packaging conditions, and while not as fast as some I've ordered from, it was well worth it.Granted they don't have much OP figures in stock, but they do have tons of other figures (and some at reasonable pricing) so I'm satisfied. Will shop for more.

hmm.. toyslogic have been processing my order since 09/07/10..
they have not added the 30% discount and is slow on replying..
-
Seriously, the toyslogic guy who posts here is just dodgy. He just doesn't want to be on the red list. His store is questionable for months/years and he says it's trying to improve /now/? All he had to say was that he was a One Piece fan and he was given the benefit of the doubt. That should happen when the store becomes consistently reliable.
-
i'm losing my patience with toyslogic.
They have not even generate a decent invoice.. let alone to trust them with shipping..
What i have in my account is the system generated invoice. (without the arlong park discount which have been promised)If they take like 1month to generate an invoice.. how long will it take for them to ship:unsure:? 1 year?
i know that they are busy with the san diego comic con 2010.. but cant they just keep us informed?
overall: Thumbs down for toyslogic communication
Now lets see if they will do their admin work when the fair ends.. which is on the 25th.
Toyslogic.. if you happen to see this post.. Please improve on where your lacking
-
Well at least they're somewhat trying , unlike other hacks who flat out steal your money and god knows there's enough of them .

Trying?
I've been waiting and giving them the chance since early Jul…Agree that they don't 'steal' money but its just too slow and it seems that the discount is just a lie

I noticed the following eBay store in the list of trustworthy sellers: "lacitedesnuages".
Just want to inform that they have a full-fledged store/website at http://www.lacitedesnuages.be/index_us.htm and I've always had a positive experience with them (I bought around 10 Portrait of Pirates from them since 2007). Their shop is located in Belgium and they're actually a pretty decent alternative to Archonia if you live in western Europe, since Archonia increased their prices (added 10% to 45% of the original prices) on all their merchandise last month.
The only negative thing worth mentioning is that the process of adding new pre-orders to existing pre-orders (in order to be shipped together and not separately) is a bit clunky on their site.

Hmmm, they don't have the "wrong" base that those GLM bootlegs usually have, they actually look pretty decent. It's strange that Luffy isn't really standing correctly on his base, but that doesn't have to mean anything, maybe he just wasn't put on right.
The boxes (at least Luffy's) don't have the Toei sticker on, I'm always a little bit wary whenever those are missing.Damn, I don't have my GLM Ace anymore, but were his pegs really black? I thought all of them were skin colored. o__o
Aaah, I dunno, it's just way too cheap to be legit, imo. After all, they could just use random images they found on Google or something and still sell bootlegs =/
Also, they never stated the name of the line or the manufacturer as far as I've seen. -

Damnit I really fucking wanted GLM Ace
I feel your pain ^^;
They could still be legit, though. If you can contact the seller and ask them about who produced the figures and they answer "Banpresto" at least you'd have something against them if they still sell you bootlegs.
Unfortunately I have never bought anything on that site, I know nothing about it … :( -

Calm down a lil bit,you wanted an opinion not an opinion+explanation.
Whatever..
I think they are fake because the skin is so shiny, look at these pics http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-01-49-en-70-3a4z.html
look at Ace tattoo,the shoes,the necklace…
Luffy pants,the shoes+feet.... -

Luffy pants, the shoes+feet....I'm not angry and uh, that's just the lighting. Anyone could put a light on it to make it look like that. I think I might get these regardless because the detail on them is superb.
Heck normally bootlegs are bigger or smaller so:
Dimensions: 6.57 in x 4.72 in x 3.54 in (16.7 cm x 12.0 cm x 9.0 cm)
Weight: 9.21 oz (261 g)Can someone see how big theirs is or something?
-
Did anyone ever get their discount from toyslogic?
They promised the 30% off but they have not even bother to adjust the invoice nor reply my emails/messages
what do you guys think of toyslogic?
hmm…
did a quick search about toyslogic on google and found out that many sellers have bad experience with toyslogic at 2009.. not sure if its still the same for 2010 but i think we might have to put them on the red flag again if they do not do anything. -

Well, let's see … I can only talk about Luffy and my Luffy doesn't have the base anymore, so you also have to keep that in mind for the height.
Height: about 15,7 cm (sounds about right, the base was about 1 cm thick)
His box is 18cm x 6cm x 12cm -
alright.. toyslogic finally replied my message but they sent me an invoice that was calculated wrongly.
They did not include the discount for the POPs i've ordered.do i have to wait for another 2 weeks to get their reply?

They look like a good shop and I know people that have bought stuff before. But for instance, they advertised a Mario figurine in a green costume that wasn't luigi. Then in the review of the figure the guy said that he got Mario's normal colour. Seems a bit fishy to me. But if anyone has 12 dollars to spare then you could try these guys. Because I live in the UK I don't want to risk it.

Omg i just notice that there is this thread abt legit Ebay sellers when i just purchased from Ebay.
I am new into one piece figures and i hope my experience wont be a bad one.
Any one bought from him before? ?
-
Alright… toyslogic finally gave me a correct invoice..
i'll send them paypal payment tomorrow and see how it goes..i hope my $$ will not be stuck at paypal for a month as others have complained about having this issue with toyslogic.
Update:
Toyslogic finally shipped my order after 1 week.
Hope everything will arrive in one piece. (& with the correct items)My thoughts so far… They feel like they are trying but their communication is very bad.. it needs to be improved.
Another point to take note is that they have a tendency to send out wrong invoices + them being quite lazy to do a proper house keeping on the customer's account in their website makes you feel that they're dodgy.
However its not like those redflag sellers that are out to eat your $$. You'll just need alot of patience to push them for your order and to be very careful when going through their invoice.
Take note that they've started to ship my item only after nearly one month from the date i placed order so i cannot gurantee that it will be totally safe for everyone nor can i say that they are totally unreliable as it seems that they've shipped my item. I'll be on a neutral side until i receive my package.
Right now it seems like toyslogic is having a special promotion running through the month of August.
Details:
Until the 1st of September, all in-stock items are eligible for FREE ground shipping on orders over $75!
To take advantage of this deal, use the coupon code AUGFREE during checkout.
Unfortunately, due to the whole logistics of international shipping, we can only offer this promotion to US-based customers. Don't despair, international friends, we'll have more special offers in the very near future!

AFAIK, they're primarily an electronics shop, known for their cheap, bizarre peripherals.
I've looked at their stuff, sort of want the figure set with Blackbeard and Smoker that costs like $14.
What caught my attention on the set they were selling is their photo didn't have Ace's tattoo close to right.

I'm pretty sure they're fake. Even with different lighting, there's only so much a GLM Ace can shine. The light reflecting off of the figures in some of the pictures is just too glossy to be possible on a GLM figure. It's that kind of pink, almost translucent glossiness…and yeah, as Nia mentioned, my GLM Ace's footpegs are flesh colored.
When someone's trying to sell their figures, I feel like the best thing they should do to promote their merchandise is present it properly, so I don't really believe they'd do something like not insert the feet completely if they could. My figures fit perfectly into the stands. And they're also sturdy enough to not even be able to bend that way at the feet. It'd be hard for me to insert the pegs in a way that looks like what we see in the photos, actually.
Plus, I think GLMs are relatively rare and re-releases aren't frequent, so I don't think anyone would really have such a huge surplus of them that they'd need to get rid of some by slashing the price... :x

I just ordered a Mihawk POP from Kakaloo (mainly because he had the cheapest JP version I could find). When it comes in, I'll post some pics to find out if it is real or not.

I've ordered a bunch of figures from them as well (4 MBH and other stuff that's rather hard to get as a single item, but very cheap)
Just wanted to add that Kakalolo has a third account called "dragonball_seller2008" (bought something from that one, too XD).
All my orders are currently being shipped, I'll tell you how that all turns out. What really sucks about them is that you can't combine shipping, so the shipping costs skyrocket when you buy more figures at once.
I complained about that and so they gave me a 3EUR refund for buying 5 figures at once. Uh, yeah. At least it's something shrugs -

Hey–
Sorry if it's been asked before, since I swear I've read someone asking about this seller somewhere in a thread - but has anyone had any experience buying from the ebay seller aaycrs ? He sells a bunch of MBHs at relatively reasonable prices, though of course probably makes it up with those high shipping costs. Just wondering since I'm considering buying one MBH from him.
Thanks~
-
Anyone ever order anything from Kirin Hobby? They're an online store, but they have more than just a presence on their Yahoo Groups page. They have a Facebook page to showcase some upcoming products, and are also affiliated with Collection DX, which seems pretty trustworthy to me. Just wanted to know if anyone has tried buying stuff with them before. And no, they don't have One Piece merchandise…yet.
-
not sure..
Ichnob~ you'll have to remove inx_station from the red list once i receive my super dx from him.. should be releasing soon.. Great communication with him so far.. and he is hell lot better than fununiverse.
