And when were they actually proven wrong.
General Sonic the Hedgehog Thread (Now With Movie 3 & Knuckles)

eventhough that's all Bioware and not Sega, Brotherhood & Unleashed.
-
I found brotherhood boring myself.
Unleashed ranged between average during the day to terrible at night.
I would not recommend either of those games to anyone.
eventhough that's all Bioware and not Sega Brotherhood & Unleashed.
For anyone else, gvr originally purported brotherhood and unleashed as instances of his beloved "sonic fanbase" being wrong, and what I wrote above reflected that. I have no idea what this edit is supposed to even mean aside from reminding people that sega commissioned bioware to make a drab sonic rpg.

Sandai "Terrible Taste" Mera.
-
Bye Zephos it was nice to see you again for like 4th time under an alt.
-
Why aren't you playing fantastic games like brotherhood and unleashed instead of making snide comments when you're on an alt account having been banned previously yourself as well.
-
I could do that if I hadn't already beaten them multiple times and yes I was banned once but unlike him only once.
-
Bye Zephos it was nice to see you again for like 4th time under an alt.
Seventh actually.
-
So… there's supposed to be a major announcement in two hours.
-
The entire game has been leaked for months.
Unless the announcement is that they've used the ensuing time to make the game good, I can't see it as being "major".
-
Sonic is a pretty laughable franchise nowadays.
Not really expecting much from Sonic 4.
-
So… there's supposed to be a major announcement in two hours.
Five hours later…
guess it wasn't that big a deal.
-
Seems like it was this: http://www.destructoid.com/sonic-4-delayed-to-late-2010-confirmed-for-iphone-174166.phtml
Make it work, SEGA.
-
Delay to make it better.
I like this.
-
Seems like the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT was the MYSTERY ??? PLATFORM they're bringing the game to.
Its pretty obvious it was gonna iPhone.
-
You know…I'm not upset about the delay. This is a good thing. Possibly more effort will be placed on the game.
But I just know 80% of the crowd who give two shits about SEGA (and 80% of the people who ENJOY bashing Sega, though Sega often deserves it) are just bawing off of this.
-
Downhill furry franchise.
-
If they actually take this extra time to fix the physics and level design, this will be pretty significant.
-
So they are not rushing it? Interesting. Especially from Sega and anything that involves Sonic.

Yes, if they actually take this extra time to fix the physics and level design, this will be a pretty significant downhill furry franchise.
-
I assume the majority of Sonic's current fanbase are into the whole furry thing.
-
Don't go to DeviantArt.
-
I don't go there but thanks anyway.
-
The fact that they're even doing this is hilarious and not a good sign at all.
lol if you think this like when blizzard does it
-
So is there a franchise whose fall was worse than Sonic's.
-
Ninja Turtles.
Multiple times in multiple media.
-
Why do modern Sonic games have all of those dumb and unneeded game mechanics.
Like Knuckles' treasure rap fest. Or the damn Werehog.
-
I love when people try to compare fun and well integrated things like FLUDD to stupid shit like that.

Ys4PRXf0TYsLONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (May 26th, 2010) SEGA Europe Ltd. & SEGA America, Inc. today announced Sonic Colours, the new high-speed adventure of our famous hero Sonic the Hedgehog. Struggling with saving a colorful alien race fall into the clutches of Dr. Eggman, Sonic will face many obstacles along an inspired sci-fi themed amusement park. Sonic Colours will be available on Wii and Nintendo DS at the end of 2010.
A unique playground has been seen orbiting the planet of Sonic the Hedgehog. Some rumors speak of an alien race called wisps, with a rare colored energy, which is now imprisoned here, by the evil Dr. Eggman. Sonic, once arrived on the planet's entertainment, you can use immediately made aware of this rare power to help colored wisps in the escape! The Wii version of Sonic Colours combines both 2D and 3D gaming perspective, while the Nintendo DS version takes advantage of the characteristics of the double-screen console.
"The lively alien universe of Sonic Colours allows players to race at breakneck speed along amazing planets, each with its peculiarities and unique visual style." Comment on Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing SEGA. "In addition to classic Sonic gameplay, new power-wisps, they offer an innovative way to explore these new worlds and help Sonic to run faster than ever!"
The new Sonic hedgehog Colours see our dear speeding, jumping off himself among enemies like never before in a Sonic game. The aliens WISPs are able to free their "Colour Power" that can be absorbed by Sonic drilling to create new roads, for example, the ground (via the Yellow Drill), or go through the whole internship at supersonic speed (thanks to Cyan Laser). Combining the different available energies can further increase the speed of Sonic and his abilities beyond imagination. Lots of power ups and exclusive versions will be available for Wii and Nintendo DS for a brand new super-fast gameplay of Sonic for fans around the world.
Sonic Colours will be available on Wii and Nintendo DS at the end of 2010.
Can't get any worse than 06 and Black Knight, but still…
-
April fools were last month sega.
-
With those aliens, planets and such things it sounds like a Mario Galaxy rip-off O.o
-
ok, thats it. we grab the pitch forks and head to sega.

They got those parts correct.
-
Sonic Colors get out.
Whites only.
-
Has the fanbase gotten their mob on?
-
I would imagine. Isn't it like their default knee-jerk reaction to any new title these days?

Any announcement these days.
This brings up the question of why would they even bother looking if they're just going to bitch.
-
Sigh. Cut and paste previous complaints, expectations, and references to the Sonic Cycle here.
I would imagine. Isn't it like their default knee-jerk reaction to any new title these days?
I think it became the default after Sonic Heroes and Shadow, when it finally settled in that no, it was never going to get better.
-
I wait for the fanbase to really show its true colors when SEGA eventually shows a picture of Sonic with his eyes a darker shade of green.
-
…
Pft...pft...
he..hehe...
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
gasp a..ha..haha…ha
No...haha...no seriously. Seriously Sega?!
-
Geee, there's almost literally nothing announced except the title and people are already saying it's bad? Pessimistic much… Don't you think if they've gotten complaints about certain things they'll try to improve upon those...
It's coming out this year, there might be more at E3. It could be good, it'll depend.
-
I was happy to see tails keeping up with Sonic. We all know whats gonna come…Griffith! Haha, cool.
-

Well, they've yet to do anything about it so far.
-
I instantly thought it was a puzzle game as soon as i head the word "Colors"
-
Oh dear. This ordeal can't be good.

Sonic Heroes and Shadow were pretty good. The games after that… not so much. As for Sonic Colors, it does seem like a Super Mario Galaxy ripoff, as someone mentioned before.

Like with…sonic heroes? Sonic '06? Sonic Unleashed? Sonic the black knight?
It's coming out this year, there might be more at E3. It could be good, it'll depend.
On whether or not it's sega making it.

No, they were pretty terrible. Heroes was the real downhill slide after the mediocrity of the adventure games. Shadow was just plain awful.

What? The adventure games were not mediocre. Those games were awesome and were what made the Sonic Games interesting for me. I hardly played the old Sonic Games, just one I downloaded off the Wii Shop. THAT was mediocre compared to the adventure games. Heroes and Shadow weren't as good as the adventure games, but they weren't "pretty terrible" as you put it.
-
No the adventure games had flighty controls and a terrible camera and were a partially successful attempt to bring sonic to 3D, and at the time people were hopeful that sega were on the right track. Then heroes came out, the controls and camera were worse instead of better and the levels were boring.
Shadow the hedgehog was your average 3d sonic game(already a black mark against it) but "darker" and with guns. No difference there, and it was rightly panned at the time
