Agrees with Buster Call
I do not think the reason for the nobles coming down have yet to be shown.

I would be interesting to know the plot hole you found.
Sorry for the delay to answer. It's a very minor plot point. I only pointed that for fun.
During the Baratie Arc, when Luffy defeats Don Krieg and falls on the sea, Sanji is clueless about the weakness of the Devil Fruit. It's not untill Zeff warns him that a DF user can't swim that Sanji goes to save Luffy, saying "Why didn't you tell me earlier".
Skip hundreds of chapters later, and Sanji is fighting Absalom. There he reveals he read the DF encyclopedia as a child, and alwasy dreamed of having the invisible fruit. He even says that's the only power that he'd be willing to trade his ability to swim for.
So, if Sanji knew about DF's and their weakness, then how didn't he know it during the Baratie Arc?
Chapter 66:
_Zeff: I happen to know an idiot who would stifle that very spear
for NO GOOD reason…
What are you doing? He isn't gonna float back up without your help.
The sea hates those with the Devil Fruit Powers, and turns them into cannonballs.
Sanji: Oh, goddamnit! You should have told me that earlier, you old fart!!!
Zeff: Hmph..._
Chapter 464:
Sanji: I saw a Devil Fruit Compendium once, when I was a kid.
I wasn't interested in all the fake-ass things and sea curses inside,
but there was one part of it that piqued my curiosity.
A power that, if I should be lucky enough to run into it during my life,
I would gladly suffer the inability to swim to achieve.
Like I said, it's a very minor thing… I was just nitpicking.

Plot holes….just like Movie 10
@I:
S'ah-right with me, jus' I didn't know there were "sides," per se.
Yup. Certainly makes sense when you put it that way. Of course, I also know Oda somehow manages to think of the one logical avenue most of us miss when speculating.
And I realized after my last post that we were told (weren't we?) they are interbreeding at an alarming rate, and although many things in OP Land-o are very different, that can't be a good thing for intellect and such like other genetic stuff, which sorta blows my theory (and yours down below, for that matter) out of the water before it even leaves the dock, but lets pretend it ain't so for the moment.
Yeah, but as you yourself proved, boredom is a force not to be taken lightly. Perhaps one of them simply got bored, and has way too much time and power on his hands for his own good, and decided to play a little chess with real pieces, just to see what would happen. I admit its not probable, but it's definitely possible…
Now this is an interesting avenue for further speculation, right here. Lead me right down the path of wondering of the SA might not be the Teryubito's figurative "golden cage," so to speak. Aren't they supposedly granted all this "protection" etc by the WG because at one point their ancestors were powerful enough to have changed the world? Perhaps its a case of "Keep your friends close, and your [potential] enemies closer," hmmm? They may be allowed to say or do whatever they want, just without any real ability to actually make meaningful stuff happen, as a sort of distraction for them, if you will, because of some potential to cause harm to the WG. Its a thought. Oda has done more far fetched turn-abouts, and "politics," as they say, "make strange bed-fellows."
Yes, if the whole thing is for some sort of gain for the noble, and not just out of boredom or to work some sort of scheme, political or otherwise, for whatever reason AND they aren't just living in a guilded cage, yearning to be free.
In fact, I can't see a way that Sabo is the child of a Teryubito, at this moment. Not saying it can't happen, but right now it doesn't seem likely. Here's why: We do not know how long he has been living in that trash heap, but we do know he's been there for at least 5 years, since they say they've been saving the money that long. Sabo, we're told, is 10, like Ace. Is it even possible that he was old enough to run away to an entirely different sea so far away at such a young age by himself? If not, where is the person(s) who helped him? So, unless he was brought there by a noble for some reason, he was probably born there on that island.
So let's look at the idea of a noble bringing him there. Why would they? Unless Noble women need to try to hide getting pg with illigitimate kids, and needed to come there to have the kid in secret, then his mom is probably not a noble. If its a noble father, then to me it looks more like a by-blow than legitimate, and that would mean his mom may have been from this island, in all probability, because a noble's got no earthly reason that we know about to try and hide an illigitimate brat out of shame, or to bother doing anything for the mom and kid after the fact. They have been presented as people who do whatever they want with impunity. They may not choose to recognize the lilligitimate offspring as their own, but they have no reason to hide their behavior. But that brings us full circle. Why is a noble out of SA and getting brats in the first place? If the noble fell in love, then why not take care of the mom and the kid? Nope,
I can't see any logic to the argument that Sabo is a noble's kid. IMHO, that noble is coming for some other reason, although I have no idea what that might be.
But all of this is just pissing down a well, isn't it, lol. We just have to wait and see what the G'Oda has in store for us.
Remember that there´s not as much inbreeding as you say. Charlos wanted to take that woman in the street and from the sound of it they tend to form little harems for themselves. I believe Sabo could be the child of one of these women, who escaped as a stowaway with her child and got killed somwhow upon arribal, leaving Sabo to fend for himself. How having Tenryuubito bastard blood in his veins is going to help/deter him, and how is anyone relevant going to find out about it I don't know. The easiest story device would be having some sort of signet ring or amulet or something from his mother's that would identify his as who he is.
Hmmm you make interesting points. I liked the gilded cage theory, if you could call it that. In a way it makes sense. If it had to go down in any way, it would be the following to my opinion (crazy rambling warning):
The Tenryuubito are very powerful and old families who have contacts and information far above the value of their lives. If there ever is a powerplay between the Gorousei and the Tenryuubito, it would be because the Gorousei have the military might but the Tenryuubito know the True History or possess information to make or partially construct an Ancient Weapon.
However, a series of powerful families with access to said information must have devised a way to make it so that an uneasy stalemate is mantained, mostly due to the fact that they are on the losing side in terms of firepower.
Thus, a faction in the shadows, serving the Tenryuubito for generations would exist, like black ops butlers. Not even the Tenryuubito themselves would know the location of these vaults, but the members of this faction would approach the leaders at key times to reveal themselves and ask for orders, never revealing the location of the vault/vaults. This faction would have first and foremost the interest of the Tenryuubito's survival, and would be the personification of blind loyalty.
This would be the only way that the Tenryuubito and their closest circles could still maintain power as the Government would be unable to extort, torture or blackmail any of it's members to find the location of these vaults and eliminate the problem.
The Government would then have to cater to these families' every whim, provide them with comfort power and status and the assurance of protection in exchange for their passivity. However, they keep them under close surveillance to see if they can gather intel on the vaults.
I draw these conclusions from the fact that the only thing that the Government seems to mind is the True History/Void Century, One Piece and military might. In the absence of the former, the Tenryuubito would only be an asset to keep close and happy if they were still useful for something that the Government can't do for themselves.
Because we know the governmente is looking for the Ancient Weapon schematics, it is possible that this would turn out to be so. OOOOK /end crazy rant
Like what? I didn't see the movie yet.
neither did I. It just does not have a logical place to fit in the story.

I don't think that is nitpicking, that is a having a 'keen' eye and shows you an ability to remember things and put pieces of information given over time together.
To me, Oda just drops too many hints that what Ace and Co. are doing is connected to why the World Noble is showing up in the Goa Kingdom. We know based on Dadan's response that this probably hasn't happened or at least is very uncommon and hasn't happened why she has lived there.
Porchemi tells Luffy that the money Ace and Sabo stole was for something very important.
While Porchemi is beating the crap out of Luffy, locals want to intervene but state that contacting the authorities won't do any good because Bluejam has ties to the Aristocracy aka World Nobles.
After Luffy is rescued, Oda tells us that their new gang starts to make a huge reputation for themselves, probably stealing from Bluejam and preventing him from going about the business of the World Noble.
And at the end of the chapter, you see Dadan reading a newspaper that announces the arrival of a World Noble.
Nope, it is very clear why the World Noble is showing up. To me, that isn't even the real question because Oda made it very clear why they are showing up.
The real mystery is what exactly is the 'business' relationship between Bluejam and this World Noble.
In the chapter when Ace dies, he says that if it weren't for the sabo thing and a brother like you and so on.
This proves the point that the SABO incident motivated him more to live. This leads us to just two different paths.
1. Sabo is dead and before dying made Ace promise to him that he will continue living and become a pirate.
2. Sabo is not dead.
Now the second point gets interesting. If he is not dead, why is it that Luffy does not share the same kind of relationship he has with Ace? Well, I am not saying he should consider Sabo as a brother but atleast a good mentor and remember him well. It is possible if Luffy-Sabo have not lived together for long. Everything gels well if Sabo somehow gets to leave Luffy-Ace post the incident.
Now how Sabo is affected by the whole turn of events is tough to predict because it seems like Tenryuu seem to be here on an important issue and I doubt if that is the 'infamy of Sabo and Ace'.
But it amazes me how Oda properly connects flashback to the current events. He is God!

I have to disagree with this a bit.
When Ace states what he says about the "Sabo" incident, I don't think it necessarily means Sabo is dead or alive.
Personally, I think Ace is referring to this. That link shows the exact moment Ace started to feel a kinship with Luffy, particular the two-leftmost panels at the bottom.

Your point does make sense. But then why does have to say 'sabo thing' AND 'a brother like you…'
I mean why does he have to reiterate the point about him being closer to luffy?

Obviously the Sanji now is a doppleganger from a parallel universe that got switched with Baratie Sanji during the Skypeia arc.
I agree that this was just a standard bulk chapter. It was not the most entertaining as some may have wished, but necessary to get to the stronger points of the flashback. I believe that may even be the next chapter, with how this one ended.
Although it was a bit long at the beginning, I would argue this is actually a really important chapter, especially towards the end.
I'm going to just say that it is possible that Sabo went back to where they hide the money and ran off with it. Who knows what happened, patience will reveal

Could it be that this last viewpoint of his - A power that, if I should be lucky enough to run into it during my life,
I would gladly suffer the inability to swim to achieve. - was just added to his opinion after he saw Luffy unable to swim, and initially only the curiosity piquing stuff happened. lol
He says he saw the Compendium once, meaning he just kinda skipped through it, with this fruit catching his attention. He does say he wasn't interested in the sea curses inside meaning he didn't read them.
Dunno, maybe I am extra nitpicking here. :D
Thankfully it isn't a plot-hole.
In Japanese it just says 'cursed by the sea' and simply 'cursed' when he brings it up again.
Since it was ambiguous and doesn't mention anything about actually swimming, it's good.
Still hard to swallow he didn't read anything specifically about drowning in the actual compedium but uh, I'd be willing to believe that Sanji has a one-track mind. Especially when it comes to that.
ANYWAY
Right, Chapter 584
Awesome.
I don't want to say it felt rushed, just a little sloppy, even for a boy's comic. It was really jumping around a little too much and I was almost starting to get dizzy. I think Oda still needs to come off the war high.
Best part?
Luffy playing Oda and saying, 'I'M A FREAKING SEVEN YEAR OLD THAT GOT PUNCHED WITH SPIKES!', and he even turned it into a nice routine between the two.
I was wondering what the heck Oda was trying to spell with what looked like 'GOAKIN-' on the map and by chapter's end we not only had our answer but more depth to the geopolitical arrangement of the world.
Awwwwwesoooooome.
Luffy and Ace's post-rescue conversation was also really nice. Thankfully it wasn't self-serving enough to hit us over the head with oozing dramatic irony, there was just enough in there to crack a smile and even get my left eye ever so slightly bleary.
This Flashback shall be forever!
I don´t know if the RAW´d been posted:

seeing as most people including myself didn't know DF users couldn't swim until Zeff told us they are..

"Maybe" the book he was reading has no information of the side effect of eating a devil fruit and it just says it gives you a power to be invincible or somethin.
And finally given information by Zeff about it.
Oda is a genius so Lol
I have a crazy, probably with a very low probability prediction: Luffy's mom was a Tenryubito, she fell in love with Dragon, married him, had Luffy, had to go on the run because she betrayed the Tenrybito by falling in love with a normal man, and this is why Dragon wants to destroy the Gov.. The Tenryubito are going to the Gao Kingdom because they founbd out that his mom is in the East Blue. so they are starting their search in the place they think is most likely: A rich(?) kingdom. >_>….
Anyway I'm loving Sabo more and more.. He's so cool...Why do people think the incident was him betraying Ace and Luffy? Why would theat make Ace want to live? I think he would get depressed becaus ehw was betrayed by his first and best friend :-/

Is there something wrong with that? Charlos had like 13 wives, and most of them probably were quite normal people. Like the woman he decided to marry in ch.499.
good point but maybe dragon was a slave and was forced to "mate" with a celestial dragon and then luffy popped out. After all the slaves escaped, he vowed to destroy the government.
Why would a Vice-Admiral's son be a slave?
maybe it was a punishment for stealing or something….
Sold into slavery for stealing?
We know Garp's a crappy parent, but not that crappy.
lol it could have been accidental. Think about it, i mean Rayleigh got captured to be sold right?
Rayleigh sold himself in to pay off his debts , and in order to run away and steal money from whoever would buy him .
Yes….just like a prostitute....thats the first mate of the pirate king for you
I was waiting for wintergt to get his recap out of the way so I wouldn't take an idea from him. Anyway, review time:
! Cover page - Crocodile: Now with my army of Hippo gangsters! I will reign supreme! Kuahahaha!
Mr. 1: Sir, these guys are only for the cover page.
Crocodile: Crap. Then, I'll just go and read me some Garfield.
! Porchemy pounding Luffy for info on the treasure - dials phone Hello, child services. Yeah, there's a 7-foot man has been beating up a 7-year old for 7 hours straight. Yes, it's been going on for that long! Well, he was first used a 1/7 ton hammer then he uses a spiked glove that I guess has seven spikes on it. Oh, the location is in a run down hut in Gray Term. You won't miss it. Thank you. hangs up phone
! Ace and Sabo having a change of heart and try to save Luffy -
This needs awesome music. No! That's EPIC music! I want AWESOME music! That's what I'm talking about!!
! Porchemy's (aka Butthead's ancestor's) irony - And I quote: "If I lose to kids, I'll quit being a pirate!"
3 seconds later…
Wump Wump Wump Even BlueJam's gangster headshot adds more to that shame!
! Luffy, Ace, and Sabo become friends and have misadventures glore -
It's up to you on who is who. :ninja:
! A tenryuubito is coming - Winter already did a reading joke with Dadan so let's move on to the main point. So, a Celestian Douchebag is coming to town. RUN!
! Before I end this I must say this:
The dude on the left looks like a perv. I mean look at that hand jester. :ninja: Anyway, good chapter. And credits to wintergt and Mangastream for the pics minus the non-manga one.

Not the technicality of a joke but the presumption that somebody would make a joke and someone else would make the same one later so that person waits for that person's recap so they can post their joke so it doesn't look like the other guy took the joke from him.
