Luffy is going to lose both his brother and grandfather at the same time? Unlikely. If a major Marine character needs to die, I'm hoping it will be Akainu, that asshole is gonna get it
I just wonder how Garp could continue to serve the Marines after seeing Ace get killed in such a gruesome fashion.
Akainu is being hyped up by Oda in this Arc. Also, I believe Oda hasn't allowed him to be engaged by Blackbeard because this most likely is a confrontation that will happen in the New World, although Dragon may be the Marines' final opponent.

Well…if a marine dies for some reason I feel that Sengkou is a decent choice, what with his history with Whitebeard a good scene could result. Garp is a good choice as well, though like someone pointed out that might be over doing it.
Or Blackbeard really does just sink Marineford and the marines loses a major base, keep all their main characters, and at the same time get a bittersweet victory, proving they can best the greatest pirate in the world yet at the same time paying for the someone questionable risks they've made (like having shichibukai in the first place). I'll say it again, no way do the marines kill Whitebeard and Ace without some sacrifice on their part.

Also, a lot of people think Coby is going to be a high ranking Marine in the future. Obviously he is nowhere near being ready, but when exactly do vacancies start to open up? Marineford would be a perfect place for some vacancies to open up and at some point, some new blood is promoted into those positions.
