Chapter 571 "The Execution Stand" Discussion

I'm not really doubting you on this, but I am doubting the source. I haven't seen it, and until I do I'll have a hard time believing it exists.

Shanks needs to get a peg arm.

Widely accepted? It's a fun little theory, but I think you're going a bit (a lot) overboard on the certainty of it.

Is Apprentice MIA? (I know his spoiler ain't out yet, but do you or BF or anyone communicate directly with him ever?)

Cause we're talking about Shank's arm. It's not all-time-low worthy, but we're pretty much scraping the bottom here, not that I'm judging.

I don't know anyone who communicates with Apprentice directly. Yes, he does seem to be MIA so far this week. The chances are pretty high that something will appear tonight, once people in Japan get off of work.

The spoiler will get posted once it is obtained. Until then asking in this thread will do nothing except for possibly annoy the people who post them (not me).

Anyway, as far as Kaido is concerned, it seems to be the case that Shanks is being kept busy by intercepting him, which pretty much implies Shanks doesn't want Kaido going to Whitebeard. If Kaido had any positive intentions, he would have told Shanks as much, and then both of those Yonkous and their crews would be rushing to Whitebeard's aid and… well, we would probably have a very different situation right now.

Of course, the only way I can see this arc being topped is if at the end of the series, Luffy actually DOES unite all the top forces for a battle.

It also said the same thing about Whitebeard, yet we all know how that turned out. Besides anyone losing there trademark arm will be weaker.

My opinion of this war ranges from incredibly shocked, mortified, satisfied, overwhelmed, disappointed, overjoyed and facepalm.

70% of anything negative I have to say about it stems almost ENTIRELY from pacing which is something I usually wouldn't complain about.

That said, if I had this whole arc in tank form and could read it one sitting, as I will in about 5 months, I think it will probably be one of the coolest arcs in the entire series.

There are still some things I could nitpick, but just sitting back and enjoying it as a whole is going to be awesome.

Wonder how many chapters it's going to take for the pirates to escape .

There are still some things I could nitpick, but just sitting back and enjoying it as a whole is going to be awesome.

And hopefully, if they can make in less confusing, it'll probably be better in the anime. I just hope that it won't be 1 chapter = 1 episode, because that can slow it down even more. If its like more then 30 episodes until this arc would be up to this point in the anime (if I counted right, knowing me I didn't).

I haven't had a facepalm moment until the Kizaru Sniper thing, of which I was easily the most annoyed of all, and was treated with a whole lot of pipe-down-you-whiny-fuck posts.

The rest though… Loving it so far. The lack of complaint material and the slow advancement are annoying because discussion material is scarce, which of course leads to me making posts like the one I'm apologizing for at the beginning of this post.

That's pretty much how I feel about it. While I've really enjoyed the chapters and don't have any outstanding complaints, I can't help but feel a little weird about the pacing given how frantic the action has been, Strong World, and a little shakeup in chapter releases, I guess. I'm hooked chapter to chapter, but would really enjoy going through it all together.

Shooting the Key instead of Luffy would have made Luffy lose all hope and give up on life at this point. Then Whitebeard and crew would be slaughtered , and Luffy and Ace get executed on National TV. In front of millions of people deterring everybody from becoming a pirate.

i would like to hope that there needs to be some form of distraction against the marines/Sengoku for the pirates to get away, be it Whitebeard and some form of sacrifice like I'm sure everyone already said, or Blackbeard FINALLY showing up, which I'm sure has already been said to death too xD

Granted you're talking from a viewpoint of not knowing what any other pirates in the NW world have done, especially the yonkou. I don't think Blackbeard will be making an appearence in this war. Most probably we will know about his plan just after it's over.

The marines would only be his enemy if he showed up and said he was giving up his shichi title or if he came in to the war killing marines.

If he shows up fighting WB pirates I don't see how the marines could ignore that and treat him as an enemy.
