Chapter 566 "Fierce Attack" Discussion

I'd think Croc would have the advantage in that fight. Since he's sand, he's basically billions of tiny pieces. That should have a significant advantage over string, since capturing and controlling a few would be useless, as is cutting.

That's how I see it as well, but admittedly we don't know a whole lot about Dofla's strings–it'd be weird, but it's a whole different story if they were something he could actually wet. At this point I'm just hoping for cool one liners and poses, and then praying for Croc's safety.

He made him more badass.

He made him survive Jozu's attacks.
He gave him power ups. Those hurricanes are destroying everyone and shit.
He made him the strongest man's rival....actually before attacking WB had Croc in his mind !
He is setting even more background for him.
He didnt show Croc's full face intentionally in chapter 0.

Meanwhile Doflamingo managed to slice a pig...and was blown away by Croc.

So if you think Oda will make Dofla win this because of his next arc villain potential you fail...because Croc cant be beaten at this point..he seems more and more important for the story every day...

well, but dofla was actually the guy who let jozu hit croc.
giving dofla the slave-market thing, showing that HE has the new era somehow planned is something i would say.
and you say dissing BB is something cool…dofla does this even at the Marene HQ.

i dont know but giving croc some mysterys is nicce but who says that later in the story dofla also wont get some...i mean in arabasta we didn`t know of the conection to WB..

also that croc didnt show his face at chapter 0 or that he had a powerup cause of those hurricanes...well when you think so i cant argue..it`s the way you read the manga thats okay.

but in the end just ask yourself.
would it be entertaining when croc would fight luffy again .
i mean sure it wouldnt be bad , but you wont ever think that luffy CAN`T beat croc up a second time..i just mean that the magic is gone..croc was defeated by luffy so having that again would be like...well luffy punished him for arabasta but nahh now is the main deal..
for me it would just underrate the arabasta-arc

sure croc deserves a second time in the manga, i LOVE this chara..best villain so far!, but i see potenial in dofla and it`s time that we will ahve another great villain in this series.

and anyways i don`t think that they both will fight to the end..it´s just another clash for an instant in this WAR!!, but when some1 has to win it will in my eyes be dofla!

pretty much agreed, am not a croc fan or flamingo, but i don't know why ppl think flamingo got this fight in the bag, the guy hasn't done anything so big, which i could say waw his awesome, he is a funny interesting character, but as for him being a big shot in battle he has yet to prove it in my opinion.

DoFla has been set up nicely to be the star antagonist of an arc in the future. As long as that's the case, waiting until then is probably better writing.

you hate him you want him to be punished…
just wait alittle longer..dofla still has some things going on who will even build up more of the tension.

Yeah overusing sables is a power up and being well after being attacked by the strongest brute force fighter is also a sign of power up. And not showing Croc's face still has something to do with Croc's past. ( you think it doesnt ? )

Damn, it looks more and more like Croc will be the next nakama.
Character development, an as yet unrevealed past…and he was a boss.

But I can't see how he will be able to interract with Robin, whom he tried to kill and whom he ordered around for years.
That wouldn't work...unless he gets turned back into a woman I guess.

I'm a little confused as to how there is a high quality scan and only a cam raw. It's driving me nuts that everyone is already reading it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A yeah, the spearman. Totally forgot about him. I wonder though why Oda put him more like some sort of Pandaman-esque background character in comparison to all the other 12 guys that no matter of size stand out. Also I wonder why that guy looks as if he's wearing sunglasses when he's in the background (this is the second time already) while in a close up he doesn't appear to wear any. :blink:

Kizaru instead is able to pwn luffy who is able to pwn mantra specialist Boa sandersonia. Which means that even with mantra rayleigh is still needs to be fast as hell to keep up with kizarus fast moves.

I mean it was obvious in the fight against rayleigh. Even if you know what he is going to do, kizaru still rushes you with like 1000 lightsaber attacks/second…. If you aren't fast you wouldn't keep up.

Ryuksgelus's post on this was pretty sound. Again, you're assuming that Rayleigh's mantra….hell even if he has that...is the same as Sandersonia's mantra. Big mistake. You should take into account that Rayleigh may have abilities we don't know about yet.

Quite the opposite. Doflamingo is more likely to win because he DOESN'T have that ultra high level of build up. Think about it. Doflamingo is a very ambiguous caracter. We only have hints to his powers, his true intentions, his nature and his character. There has been a lot of subtle buildup, though he himself hasn't done anything significant. Meanwhile, Crocodile has been living up to a lot of the potential in his character, and also has the weight of a previous major villain. What is there for him in victory?

Crocodile has already had his day and played several important roles in the story. The few remaining mysteries seem to be on the tip of Oda's pen as all the right characters are assembled (Whitebeard and Ivankov in particular). His case is practically closed and his story seems to be wrapping up. Doflamingo's story, on the other hand, hasn't even begun and he's still very much in the dark. What little we do know about Doflamingo is that he's infamous for having the highest revealed bounty in One Piece and apparently has the strength to back it up (whatever that strength may be). For him to be defeated by Croc-boy would be completely anti-climactic.

Also that tiny Franky? Watch that guy be his brother who was raised in the new world. That is just way to much of a coincadence. Oda drew him right there so when we see him talking to Franky about he was in the great war we can look back and go "ohhhhh it was true!". I honestly think he will have some relation to Franky later. Like for some reason this kid was born in a way that the parents approved and kept him. Where as Franky was dumped because he didn't meet certain requirements.

Okay this chapter was freakin awesome, so many cool things happened. Croc saving Ace was such a twist and the ship being underwater. And soon we'll see Garp and Sengoku in action, prob the chapter after the next one. And about time Marco did something after about 8 or 9 chapters.
I give up trying to predict what is going to happen … Oda is far to predict
EDIT: and it does seem aokiji and garp have a history. Looking forward to seeing more about that

Geez you are all thinking so finitely. I said I want Croc to make Donfla shut up and show him how a true pimp does. He can do that without Donfla being on the ground with his eyes whited out. All I want is for someone to make him get serious for a minute or land a good solid hit. A character doesn't have to lose to be shown as human. Example is Kizaru. After one shotting rookies for 7+ chaps Ray shows up and forces him to direct all his attention elsewhere. Despitie the fact that it can be argued Kizaru was winning, and we still see him owning to this very chap we don't think of him as an invincible beast because we've seen someone match him.

When WB's ships rose, they said they had 14 commanders on the ships, meaning Thatch hadn't been replaced, so seeing as we got 13 people already referred to as commanders, and now the chain guy is in the front of that pic, that skull guy should just be a normal crew mate and not a commander.

Crocodile helping WB pirates is not very like him. I wonder what happened between Croco & WB in past. Also Marco said, it saved him the troubles. I wonder what he could have done from that distance. Also poor Oz Junior only getting up to get thwacked.

Doflamingo hasn't done anything yet, though. There's barely anything we know that can even be 'shut up'. There would be no real pay off at all in seeing him even get hit, especially since certain factors are supposed to lead us to believe that he's capable enough to keep his cool in a battle with the lowest rung Shichibukai. If so much as the smile were to be wiped off his face now, it would just make him seem so much less significant.

um isn't' there only 15, cause 1 of them hasn't been replaced. you know the one that blackbeard killed. so

Pocketman's hat has the same insignia as Marco's tattoo and what some of the other Whitebeard Pirates have on their clothing.

He's not a New World captain.
