I was in Odaiba (at the Jump 40th anniversary festival) and on a whim I thought "Let's see what 1 lottery ticket gets me," so I drop 500 yen and bam- prize A; the attendant rings a bell and hands me this giant box. I was a lucky gaijin that day :D

Need further help authenticating some POPs I'm purchasing. Could you guys give me your opinions as to how real these figures are? I feel like I'm fairly positive the Luffy is authentic and the Bellemere passes visually as far as I can tell from comparing with whatever online pictures I could find. Only thing is the package has no golden sticker and seller (as with a couple other peeps) confirm that this is due to some earlier POP releases not having the Toei sticker….please give your opinion if possible, thanks:

both look legit to me. i'm not sure as to why bellemere doesn't got the toei sticker. ^.^

I found them in tiny mall stands. I guess it depends on who licenses them, though. They had them in Beijing and Shanghai. Incidentally, many malls in the major cities in China license official Gashapon machines, too. Needless to say, I went a little crazy with my spending. xP

4 months ago is a long time ago. ;^; I doubt I'll be able to find another. The Ichiban Kuji stand I found ran out of the good One Piece prizes long ago. Blegh.

In reference to Mihawk and Kuma releases this week. I have them preordered in Japan and they have not shipped. I took a quick look around Rakuten and Amazon and they have no started shipping yet….so I doubt HLJ will be getting those till the absolute end of the month.

When I was in Tokyo during summer '08, I saw them at:

-nearly every conbini
-this Jump festival in Odaiba that I mentioned
-the Jump store in Suidoubashi

The lottery series that had the Gear 2nd Luffy and Franky as the top prizes was just ending when I was there (I never saw the large prizes at any conbinis- those seem to run out first).

I also want to know if they are any kind of figures from Whitebeard or Blackbeard. I don't really mind if they are POP or other kind, but I haven't found any collectible from them yet.

I don't think it matters where you start, just buy what you like. For me, I love the mini big head figures. They are cheap and I can collect lots of different characters for the same price as one POP. They can get pretty expensive though, especially for the secret characters. It might be a little harder to start now since there are already 3 sets out but you can still get complete sets on ebay.

As you've probaby heard, the Grandline Men figures are awesome. As for the Dragon Ball DX ones…not so much. I have both, and the Goku looks all right, but Luffy just looks odd. Not very much detail. But if you're a fan of both series, go for it! And at least those two are better than the Bulma and Nami figures...

I just hope a near future of Shirohige and Teach collectibles.

Thks again. I usually buy this kind of things in play-asia. I bought the first Luffy DX at HLJ and never recieved it. And yes, I was referring to the preorder figures. The four of them preordered at play-asia have been really cheap (well, the affiliation program $ helped a lot). I will try again at hlj when I find something that I really like (both White and Blacbeard or something from Usopp like the chibi POP).
