I always roll my eyes when people get their torches & pitchforks at the mere thought of combining Hollywood with anything they already like. The key to a successful addaption is very simple: the more fans involved; the better. And if you want specific people, it's best to atleast try to get them into it first. The result will be things like Lord of the Rings, Spider-Man, and Star Trek.
Furthermoe, what's with this only covering Romance Dawn bullshit? You people don't think big enough; that would make for a rather boring, short, and predictable movie. Not to mention it would take forever to get to the Grand Line, which is mentioned all throughout East Blue. And just a heads up: once Zkaizer reads that I'm setting you straight, be prepared for a shitstorm. Speaking of which, for the love of ODA, please discuss plot holes and anything else you don't like about my ideas so that we may improve them. It's a much more productive alternative to threats of rape and other such mindless swearing.
Act 1 would start with Luffy's flashback, fallowed by a fusion of Romance Dawn and the Baratie, where Nami is hiring Zoro and his goofy side-kicks Jonny & Yosaku (who perform the booger gag that was originally between Zoro and Luffy) to take on the biggest bounty in the East Blue: Arlong. At another table, Fullbody and Helmeppo are bragging on a Den Den Mushi that the food here sucks. Sanji gets into a fight with them (Luffy, who came in earlier, has decided his chef thanks to that beautiful speech about the sanctity of food), who threaten to arrest him and "inform" (tell) their "superior" (daddy) for assaulting Marines. Zoro sees the horrified look on Sanji's face (who is scared to death of starvation) and takes the punishment for him (thus making up Luffy's mind on a First Mate). Later, Zeff is nagging Sanji for picking yet another fight and they start to bicker about when they were stranded, but that is interrupted by Luffy attempting to recruit Sanji. Zeff agrees, but Sanji stubbornly refuses to leave. Meanwhile, Zoro is tied to the stairway as Luffy over-hears that the Morgan Brothers aren't going to release Zoro as promised, but have him executed instead. He offers to break Zoro out of this make-shift prison. Just as Luffy is shot down, Jonny & Yosaku yell out that Nami is stealing their boat. Luffy runs up to the window, smashing Yosaku's face into the windowseal, and instantly knows who his navigator is going to be. Just then, Vice Admiral Morgan Krieg burts in and insists that he must confiscate this restraunt for "tactical purposes". But first, he's going to execute whoever had the goll to assault his sons and pulls off his should-pad machine gun, firing at Zoro (triggering a short flashback of Kuina winning against Zoro for the 2,000th time, making their promise with him, and then falling down the stairs), only for his shots to be absorbed by Luffy, who bounces the bullets back. Before they reach Krieg, he pulls his spiked cape around only to be punched in the face through the cape. While Krieg and Luffy fight outside, Jonny & Yosaku untie their buddy so he can get in on the action. Zoro grabs his swords out of the cupboard (where Patty hides his canon) and blocks Helmeppo's weird swords (yes, he has them already) with his "If you move; I'll kill you" pose while Sanji is busy kicking Fullbody senseless. Oh, by the way, Nami has long since given up on hiring these bounty hunters and steals their small boat to go home. Anyway, Luffy vs. Krieg plays out, but with the axe-hand replacing the spear. Luffy mallots Krieg into the outside deck just in time for Mihawk to show up and explain that he was ordered to kill Morgan Krieg for crimes of illigally rising through the ranks. Zoro rushes into battle and, of corse, looses miserably. Once in bandages, he accepts Luffy's invitation, knowing that his current path in life won't ready him to face Mihawk. At the same time, Zeff refuses to let Sanji back in and insists that he'll have to leave whether he likes it or not, and so he also joins Luffy.
One thing that really irks me, how are the Morgan Brothers going to agree to switching Sanji with Zoro? (For clarity, I'm giving pre-Jango Fullbody the same personality as Helmeppo since they'll have the same upbringing) Anyway, I'll get to Act 2 with my next post. And don't worry about Coby, he'll show up in Act 3.
