@Crossword:
Kaya had her beloved caretaker reveal that he had never cared for her at all and was trying to kill her just to get at her fortune. And also the deal with driving Usopp away when his crying wolf antics bit him in the ass afetr he discovered Kuro's plan.
With Tashigi, Crocodile laughed in her face and basically spat on her belief system and view of justice after Robin took her down in Alabasta, and she was a bit of a sobbing wreck after everything was over and done with.
Conis, had the deal with the god everyone in Skypiea worshipped gunning for her and the Straw Hats all because of her and she kept beating herself up over with.
Cindry died and was brought back to life as a zombie by a controlling freak who claimed to love her but just really just wanted her under his control and pretty much stripped her of any remaining humanity. Remember how Chopper's speech on that matter brought her to tears?
Well, Marguerite's case is admittedly pretty wall-bangingly dumb, because I would expect someone who had just been petrified and almost killed by her idols just for the hell of it to not apparently be perfectly okay with it afterwards, especially since nothing suggests that Hancock won't resume her dog-kicking ways once this is all over and she goes back to Amazon Lily. It's one of the reasons that I didn't like how that arc ended. Wasted plot threads from start to finish.
Well, Zoro was nearly executed for protecting a child. Usopp was beaten up by his own village for trying to protect them. Sanji had to starve for about 3 months. I don't even want to get in to Chopper, and I could continue with the entire crew if I had to.
Mayor Budor had his town blown up in front of him and when he couldn't take it anymore he was nearly strangled to death trying to fight back. Coby was forced to work as a slave for Alvida. Gan Fall was thrown out of his position and had all his subordinates turned into slaves. Cobra, Chaka, Pell, Dalton, Brogy, the list goes on. I think Oda just puts everyone who's good through the ringer, and then lets them come out on top in the end.
