IMO #1, but the last 3 chaps of OP was great so its tie for me now. Even tho the Naruto is great right now, OP is about to pass it.

Why should the nine tail fox be the reason for the Hogake to be leader? Maybe his willingness to work together with the other four Kages or his information on Madara or Akatsuki in general would be a valid reason but the Hogake gets leadership for the nine tails?
And I didn't even started to hate the Sai/Sakura conversation until she started tearing up from the fact that Naruto loves her. If she didn't realize that then she is less perceptive than the guy who barely understands human emotions.
I liked the rest of the chapter, especially the little things. Somebody pointed out Sasori was the new puppet. I got a kick out of that. Also the Kage meeting was very interesting. The Kages clash nicely. All the more reason why I was annoyed with the cut scene with Sai and Sakura talking about Naruto.

Hmm, yeah pretty good chapter. And it's particularly good because, aside from flashbacks, I don't think we saw Naruto at all this chapter
So, it's finally out now eh? I don't know why Sakura's so surprised.

Mmmm, that was a good chapter, I liked that double spread, that was cool. Good to see that Sakura might play a role in the future. Yeah with that chapter Danzou might be controlled by someone instead of the whole Danzou = Tobi = Madara= (Obito?) issue. Only thing I could criticise was the whole Konoha is in charge because they got a host, I reckon it should've been the Raikage.
He is nuts through. He might be too rash and Danzo made a good case for himself. I vote for Gaara and all the villages have done horrible things.

This was a good chapter with good development. The last few chapters have been good; so good that I have started to read the comic again. There's a focus now, characters are evolving, progress is being made, plot threads are coming together… first time I really enjoyed the second part of the comic. This alliance sounds fun, Naruto's role as a host has just gotten very important, Sakura is finally forced to confront herself, and Sai may just be the guy to break the spell that Sasuke has over Naruto and Sakura.

I enjoyed the chapter. Sai telling Sakura how it is and the kage meeting was interesting. Danzou being Madara is alot more likely now. If he is Madara he basically manipulated it so he is the main leader of the alliance against Akatsuki. So he can basically undermine any thing they are planning to do since he will be a part of it. It's a win win situation for him.

That was actually an alright chapter, mostly because Sakura cried.
Naruto woud be a much better manga if every chapter ended with someone emotionally crushing Sakura.
Bonus points if it's Sasgay.

You know Kishi would be a tiny, smidgen more respectable if he didn't throw romance into this crapstorm. To keep having this Naruto/Sakura crap while throwing out Hinata's confession that literally did nothing but make Naruto go insano-foxo is just really stupid, careless writing. At this point, I sort of wished Hinata died so at least she could look like a tragic heroine who died protecting the one she loved. (even if she didn't realize it just made him crazier…look I like Hinata but I'm sure that Kishi doesn't really want to use her anymore)

This was a awesome chapter, the meeting was nice, seeing all of thier "body guards bust out like that ready to take each other down was awesome, i believe that was the fist time in a long time that we saw more than what? 4 people in a spread in a long ass time and finally someone told sakura off, i'm glad sai said that.

Best part of the chapter was that Kankuro took Sasori's body and made it into his own puppet. Someone in this series actually using their intelligence beyond the basic, "Haha, I used a clone of myself to trick you so I could get you in the back!"… Who would've thunk it?
Oh, and Kishi drew Hinata with Naruto before this was even a series. She'll just show up near the end when everyone's forgotten about her and Naruto will just marry her in a Deus Ex Machina.

The kage meeting was good, mostly because it utilized the characters well (bonus points go to Raikage), but the icing on the cake of the chapter was Sai (in his own way) telling off Sakura.
I mean, geez, somebody FINALLY said it. The whole stupid promise thing was a curse on Naruto and a curse on this damn manga! I can only hope (ha!) that Sakura wises up a bit and doesn't spend the next chapter crying.
Only downer to this chap: Danzou being Danzou. Stupid geezer, will somebody punch him already!? (preferably Raikage, please?)

Anyways, I haven't read the manga counterpart of this gaiden. Can somebody tell me what chapters it has covered? Planning to read it now.

NaruHina makes sense but Kishi refuses to write it so it just feels like he doesn't care as much as he wants to claim. (I'm starting to realize she's too cute and buxom for Naruto anyway) And…I really don't want a "School Days" ending anyway. (unless if Tenten finally realizes she's more useful than she lets on and massacres half the females in the cast in order to prove that she was more ninja than they were all this time...)
Oh, and I really do hope that Kankurou's new puppet is Sasori...at least one former Akatsuki member still has usage. (in a necromatic fashion)
