This is why even Dragon showing up would be lame now, we have far too many big players as it is, no need to clutter ie ven more.
This was a good chapter. I like the awesome entrance that WB and his ship made. And I'm dying to know who opened the Gates of Justice. I'm so glad I didn't go into the spoiler thread this week.

I don't see why anyone does. It just 'spoils' it with a bad copy and mistranslations. Better off reading it in its complete form and enjoying it properly.

Ennies Lobby action happened in a time of 1 hour in One Piece time, we have 3 hours of action here and I believe that the war will be longer than people believes and it will be staged in 3 different parts.
-Huge battle in the sea.
-Whitebeard fleet against Ouka Shichibukai
-The end of an era
Something that a lot of people forgot to speculate are the Pacifistas and Vegapunk technology. Did you know that the space battle from science fiction are based in the old naval battles? I won´t be surprised if we see some advanced stuff from Vegapunk in the battle between the 44 Pirate Ships and the 50 Marine Ship.
Being Sentoumaru the captain of the scientific unit I don´t have any doubt that he will appear in the huge battle from the sea and will mark a difference for the marines until Luffy will defeat him.
Luffy won´t be an arm in a storm, he will be like a butterfly that moves its wings in concrete place and makes an huge storm in the other part of the world.
I definately think both sides have loads of tricks up their sleeves, and I recon vegapunk is definately a game changer.
I really would love to see the other Yonkou enter but the battle is already cluttered as it is. Also Vegapunk could play a trump card indeed
Chapters up at onemanga. Wonder who opened the gate. Everyone seems to be accounted for since Oda did reaction shots to the marines and all 5 Schibukai. Guess it could be someone loyal to BB or one of WB's men infiltrated the control room.
Why a conspiracy theory? Just say that Whitebeard opened the Gates! It's no big stretch to say that someone with that much power could do something like that.

Another clue that BB is coming, is the Gates of Justice opening. Noone knew almost that Luffy was there, or would care.. it has to have been BB who had the Gates opened. Either he had someone left in place at the machine room, or Laffite (who can fly) did it.
Another awesome chapter. I remember somebody said something along the lines that Whitebeard's ship was going to pop out of the water, great call on that. Shit is getting so intense, seeing all of Whitebeard's allies, the Shichibukai all excited, the brink of war…

yeah but why would he open the gates of justice? He or his allies didnt need it to open since they were not inside the stream. Did he know luffy was trapped in there?

Except they said the control room was in Marineford. No sign of forced entry from the outside. Somebody manually opened the door from the marine's side. At least that is what onemanga's trans indicates.
Looking at Garps clothing back in the day it just seems that he was an admiral at one point. No bases besides his hands are outside of his coat. Much like many other high ranking individuals in the series, but still.
These new pirates look like pirates and I like it. No serious beards though, hahaha. All that ugly curly hair, all those traditional hats, it looks freakin awesome!
Watch Kaku get recruited by that Girrafe ship some day.

I'd assume Blackbeard's the one who opened the gates, dispatching Laffite to open the gates… probably. The guy did sneak into Mariejoa earlier, so why not into some gate control room? And BB probably has further intentions regarding this war than to just sit back at Impel Down. :X
Furthermore, I do hope that Buggy will actually become absurdly famous at the end of all this. Think of all the grandiose tales of his exploits later: "THAT EMPEROR BUGGY...!! I HEAR HE ONCE USED HAKI TO OPEN THE GATES OF JUSTICE!!"

I know I said that, but honestly I was just piggybacking off of Zkaiser's prediction that the Moby Dick was submersable. So I can't really take much claim over the prediction.
The pirate ship spread is one of my new favorites. The giraffe ship just kills me.

I predicted that he would, but it appears to be incorrect. The Marines lost all communication with the power room, and DoFlamingo's ability doesn't seem to affect the consciousness of a person, so they should still be able to respond. Also, DoFlamingo probably has to be able to see what he's doing with the person to have any measure of success.
I don't know how they got opened, but I really want to. Maybe someone on Whitebeard's crew, or a strong fishman that wants to support him. The possibilities are quite a few.
I bet my sake on blackbeard. If he plans the aforementioned "coreshaking show" in "just a few hours" the only place it could possibly take place is marineford. Therefore he needs to open that gate somehow, and i don't think he would care at all if luffy n' co can slip through aswell.

The three important government locations are outside the current. ID is the only unassailable one (because of the Calm Belt), but EL and Marineford are just sitting in open ocean, with the gates in front/behind.

I should have worded my post differently lol; i think the gate has been opened for blackbeard, by someone associated with him. Might aswell be one of the shichibukai. I allways thought blackbeard went through an awful lot of trouble to only get that title for entering impel down, maybe he convinced one of them to join him during that dinner we once saw. :p

No. enies lobby goes to impel down. Whitebeard was in the new world. So was the new world pirates. He came from the new world, he entered either through the redline or more likely fisherman island.

The current is one directional (like any current). To get from Enies Lobby to Marineford, you have to go the long way and just pass by Impel Down without entering.
Whitebeard probably was probably in hiding at Fishman Island (seeing as it's his territory), as that's closest to Marinford.
It would be cool if Rayleigh was the one who coated the ships though, still hoping he'll make an appearance. Guess I can't complain about character appearances though, this is probably the first time in the manga that so many strong characters have been in the same location.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. A notorious guy like Whitebeard is sure to have a ship coater in his crew. Depends how rare they are, really, but a man like Whitebeard should be able to recruit one.
