I voted for Kumashi because he's funny XD
Gin vs. Kumacy
-
-
@Zyordius: I'm missing d3 and d100. Both are available, too.
I didn't really throw a dice, it was a hard and tough choice.
It was more a Cesar's 'alea iacta est'-usage of dices. -
Gin. Obviously. He's just cool like that.
-
Kumacy is cuddly, and has that delightful "something cute and adorable made very wrong" feel.
-
I voted for Gin.
-
I hate Kumacy with a passion of a thousand burning suns >w< The only thing he was good for was giving us sogeking again.
-
I didn't realize there was such hatred for him. Why, if you don't mind explaining?
[… shoulda nominated Kuroobi instead]
-
Kumacy is so kawaii~
-
Gin was awesome. Bearsy was just another shit Filler Bark character.
Why do people call Thriller Bark filler? I've seen shit like, "Other than Brook, Zoro's sword and the shichibukai, nothing happened!" The hell? You can call any arc filler with that logic.
-
I rewatched the baratie arc just yesterday, dubbed. Through the actions of what Gin did, I HAVE to vote for him. Anyone who is willing to take poision gas for his friend and leader gets my vote.
-
I didn't realize there was such hatred for him. Why, if you don't mind explaining?
Are you kidding? I wasn't expecting that this many people actually like that miserable waste of space. Though it might be that people actually just vote against Gin. :getlost:
-
Kumacy sure was hilarious, but I gotta vote Gin.
-

Hear-hear! Why anyone would vote for the background character who only served to be the whipping boy of the worst character in the series is anyone's guess…
-
Hmm, Perona's whipping-slave or a character with actual personality…?
Mhhhhm, this is hard...:silly: -
I gotta go for Gin. He was the first bad-guy-turn-to-good-guy that really made a strong impact on me. And all I think of when I see Kumacy was a really funny living(sorta) hiding place for Nami Usopp and Chopper… hysterical, but still not as cool as Gin. Plus Gin had way more speaking lines. XP
-
Bearsy. No real good reason as to why I chose him, though. I just don't care too much for either, but Bearsy is a zombie bear. These qualities are qualities I like.
-

What's more is that people actually considered him funny. And what's more more is that people actually found that Benny Hill chasing scene (in other words the lamest and most repetative cartoony gag ever used) funny. :wassat:
-
Some people are easily amused, I guess…
-
But I liked Perona and Bearsy…... in the manga.

<<<<<<<<<<< Do I really have to explain? Here's Gin:
Bad guy (turned good) that reached the Grand Line quite early and (even if utterly defeated) survived an attack from fricking MIHAWK;
Nearly died twice - hunger and poison (ok, maybe that doesn't count much in OP);
Fought equally against Sanji;
Showed absolute loyalty and care for his dumbass captain (even when that includes beating the crap of his captain :P);
Uses cool weapons;
Promised to meet again at the Grand Line, and by the way things are going and how Oda usually foreshadows a lot, this guy will most likely reach the New World (or Fishaman Isle, at least). On the other side of the ring…what? who? some dead stuffed bear. The choice is clear.

Gin deserves far more credit then people give him.
I really hope to see him again at some point. He for one is a person who I can see grow stronger.
-
Has everyone forgotten that Gin was dying of poison and had hours to live last time we saw him? I keep hearing "I hope we see him again," but we're never gonna. He's long dead by now.

Ahem, this is One Piece. A simple thing as "there should be antidote in the gas-mask" is enough of explenation to expect him being alright in the end.
-
But we know that there wasn't. The whole point of the thing is that he wanted to die on his way to the Grand Line. They gave him that, end of story, end of Gin.
-
-
The gas mask was used on him already, and he was still dying. All it did was buy him some time by putting fresh air in his lungs.
-
Lol, seeing that I really don't worry about the smallest fodder guy to die from any of Magellan's poison I simply can't see Gin dying from something trivial as MH5.
In One Piece I generally expect "alive until proven otherwise". Except for Bellamy. :ninja:

He says see you again at grand line and then he says I might die in few hours. Which in One Piece means he WONT' DIE ! -

True, but this is One Piece.
-
Gin hasn't been seen since. Safe to assume he's dead. Just ask Bellamy.
-
He also stated that Krieg's dream became HIS DREAM !
Vote Gin because he wants also to become the Pirate King !!! -
Gin hasn't been seen since. Safe to assume he's dead. Just ask Bellamy.
That was a rubber knife. He's fine.
-

Lol, that reminds me somehow of the "Oda has forgotten about Dragon" statements at the end of Enies Lobby or the "will we ever see Jinbei?" talk for nearly a decade. Don't make me pull out a Naruto image with "believe it" on it.
That was a rubber knife. He's fine.
You forgot to mention that MH5 was rubber poison. :ninja:

Nah, it didn't even need to be.
Poison can be beaten by Guts.
-
It would be really funny if Gin appears at the next chapter !!!
-
It would be fun if Gin appears in the chapter after the next one.
-
Even after looking at the picture i have no recollection of that bear thing.
So i'll vote for the guy who beat Sanji to a pulp.
-
It would be fun if Gin appears
Or it would be fun if he appeared the chapter after the chapter after the next one.

Touché, don't know how to top that. :getlost:
-
Gin probably ended up like Brook.
-
No he didn't. That was flashback poison. Stuff like that doesn't exist these days. If Magellan would have that Luffy would also be dead already.
-
Even after looking at the picture i have no recollection of that bear thing.
It's not like Bearsy is an obscure character… He was a big part of several chapters somewhat recently. I understand if people forgot who Banchi was, but I don't get how someone who posts on these forums could forget a character like Bearsy. He probably appeared in more panels than Gin, even.

The idea that Gin is dead is so rediculous that I can't even process it properly.
-

Then did Kuma raise on high the Holy Reappearance of Gin, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals … Now did the Kuma say, "First thou return the Holy Gin in a finite number of chapters. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then returnest thou the Holy Reappearance of Gin in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

What can i say, i tend to forget meh characters. Like how i dont remember what Enels priests sans Gedastsu looks like. I never really bothered to remember who kumacy was and now that wiki tells me that it is Peronas teddybear i really feel justified in it.
-

He was so bad of a character even Perona told him to shut up. :getlost:
-
Perona just found it fit for Bearsy not to be able to talk because she have had that thing as a child(as seen in Hogbacks brief flashback. She always seemed to have it with her). I think it falls under those stories with little girls(or boys) want thier toys to come to life, and what that happens, it becomes somewhat of a nuisense since its given an unwanted personality.
That is probally why I like the two so much. Same thing for other characters Oda creates with backgrounds that are there but not fully stated. Gin is like that a little too. I can't really call that terrible. You don't have to be a strong and covered with blood to be considered a good character.
-
He was so bad of a character even Perona told him to shut up. :getlost:
You would argue that Vivi is the worst character, but you definitely didn't forget about her. That's because the two things aren't necessarily related. You only quoted 4 sentences, and I can't imagine that it's so hard to figure out that they're about screentime and not quality of character. :getlost:
