@RCat:
You apparently missed all the times Kalifa called him out for sexual harassment. Also, it's kinda hard to "shit" on something that you rely on for protection. Don Krieg cast Jin off for growing a conscience after one meal. Ruthlessness. It' s a villain trait.
The sexual harrassment was played for comic relief, unless saying her name really was supposed to be offensive. You actually just reminded me of Spandam's one redeeming quality - funny moments with the rest of CP9. (It's been awhile since I re-read EL, maybe I'm forgetting something. In any case I don't even like Spandam.)
And his flipping out over Gin just proves what an idiot he was and lousy captain. Barely coming back alive from the Grand Line and he's ready to cast off his ONLY good fighter before heading back? Wow, he's dumb too!
Villains are usually the highlight of an arc for me, but this is the exception. Krieg spent so much time whining and raving and demanding things, and when he wasn't doing that he was being pathetic or getting his ass kicked. He did not do ONE cool or memorable thing. Almost the entire baratie arc was him throwing a giant hissy-fit.
Mood swings and temper tantrums are for girls on that time of the month, not the "biggest bad" of East Blue. And he's going to advance instead of Kuro and Arlong? smh
Vote Absalom, the guy that dresses like a British rockstar.
