I'm talking about pulling water not that other crap.
Chapter 546 "Fishman Pirate Captain, the Shichibukai Jinbei" Discussion
-
-
Jinbei seems very strong when he is in the sea.
-
really very good chapter. It was fun to read. Very good timing for a more funny chapter.
-
Hahahaha Buggy is so awesome, loved him in this chapter.
-
Hmmm the afro look was much cooler to me though… but it is luffy's decision... sigh
Seems like the coolest thing in OP would be an afro-robot
-
@Zik:
I wonder how BB's crew got there if even there raft ships were no where to be seen? Secret marine escort?
It was shown that they arrived on a marines ship, whose crew they took out on the way over.
-
The question will be: how bb manages to leave again…
-
Jimbei is cool and all, but I still just don't find him that interesting. Crocodile is a million times more fascinating. I guess he's cooler than Boa, though.

No cuz Oda stated himself in this chapter… Jimbei is just too good
If he really becomes a SH which I doubt he will be nr. 1 or 2.
-
If they were on land Zoro would kick his ass.
Did you just say that Zoro would beat Jinbei on land?
Seriously? -
the only ones who have even the slightest chance of joining the SH crew are 1. Bon-chan, cause he has proven to be worthy of it and has a place in luffy's heart (lol, now that sounds gay)
and 2. Ace, cause he runs out of a crew and captain… but he's a loner from the start so he might just try to accomplish something on his own or he might also join his father to figure out why he abandoned him and what's HE fighting for...
jinbei and hancock have their own responsibilities as captains of their respective 'races', they could never abandon their heritage.
buggy is also captain and about to get a new partner with mr.3 and lot's of followers obidiently liking his feet.
and croc and mr.1 will form their own league of superheros -
I do hope the crew gets some fishman Karate. It makes you wonder what the fuck Kuroobi was doing when he was fighting Sanji. On Land Sanji should've been getting destroyed with fabricated water weapons. Oh and the same goes for under water, under water he should've been decimated with fabricated water weapons too. Instead Kuroobi who appears to be a fishman Karate noobs, simply used speed and his webbing to his advantage FAIL!
I do hope that the mugiwara get someone who can use Fishman Karate or it gets assimilated into the abilities of one of the existing members. I always thought that Sanji would've gone to Fishman Island for training rather than Okama Kingdom, but I guess it was too close to the current situation.
-
Great chapter as always. I like how Jimbei literally grabbed the water and threw it to make that current.

Kurobi and Arlong = shit comparde to godly Jimbei.
Only Sanji can rival his coolness. But who knows what will happen if Jimbei becomes SH.
But Sanji and Fishmen Karate… I think it is more suited for fishmen cuz of the water fighting more than human. But it would be cool if Sanji will be able to knock enemies down without touching like Jimbei. Even Zeff could stop bullets without touching
-
Just me or someone else felt this chapter was kinda rushed? Really, it's like Oda tried to put 2 or 3 chapters worth material into just one. Don't know… it didn't feel quite "right" as the other chapters.
-
^^ i think the pacing is fitting in this situation..they
re on the run and it has to go quick..it
s nicce to feel a little bit the action in the way oda gives us such chapters -

This is the pacing that this arc needs. Everything going on right now is a matter of urgency. To stretch this chapter beyond what it did would be lame. I mean a whole chapter to swim to a ship, Croc to look cool and Mr 1 to repaint his name on his chest? No! The pacing was just right, but due to the epicness of the chapter, you fiend for more, more detail, more panels and more One Piece. It's Oda's win!
-
Pacing was perfect this chapter…
-
-
-
Everything was perfect this chapter =P (like in the others too :D)
Yup,cool to see some REAL Fishman Karate at last ^^
Oh yeah, and : JINBEI FOR SH´s!!!( I don´t really believe it myself,but I can dream,can´t I? xD]
-
Why Jimbei is perfect.
NO DF but he can manipulate water like some fruit users their power… And I like characters who are powerful by their own strenght without DF like Zoro, Sanji and so on.
But Kimbei for now did the most impressive things... and even more impressive than most of the old villians.
-
He's still the Fishman Pirate captian.

I agree + feel the pacing has been high since Magellan owned Blackbeard in one panel. I expected bigger and longer battles all over Impel Down, floors being shattered, heroes and villains falling on top of each other, bottom floors being flooded, Iva and Sadi hooking up and all that crazyness. Occasional 2 to 3 pages giving small updates on the War situation.
But I'm not complaining here, One Piece is as good as ever. -
I feel like in the next chapter, Croc is going to be badass and take the Marine ship for himself. This will cause a fight between him and Jinbei. Luffy will fight and beat Magellan. I kind of want Luffy to beat him but I also feel that would be too fast. Magellan needs to pull out some cool moves before he goes down.

Jimbei vs Croc? Croc is cool but don't compare him to the godly epicness of Jimbei.
Croc would be destroyed. You know water is his weakness and that they are on ship in the ocean… Jimbei owns him really hard.
-
Well, Crocodile does have a built in defensive mechanism against getting wet.
-
Well do you have some proof? See Ruffy fight or Robin with a bit of water? Jinbei has the ocean…
-
well, crocodile could dry out the ocean…
-
Crocodile can presumably just dry himself up it he gets wet and reform.
I don't think there's going to be a fight yet. Crocodile's too smart to just up and betray his tickets out of this mess just yet.
-
crocodile could hardly dry out Luffy in his last fight. But other question.
Why Mr.2 wasn't going with Jimbei and Co. and stayed with the fodder
-
^ Mr. 2 wants to be far away from Mr. 1.
This was an epic chapter for 17 panels.
-
Crocodile can presumably just dry himself up it he gets wet and reform.
Nop,Croc can absorb water through his hand but if he gets wet that's it.He cannot dry himself because his powers don't work.
-
…What?! His powers still work. Being wet just lets you hit him.
Also, Kishido has become an instant fanboy, it seems. And I thought I liked a character… Yikes...
-
Uh…Croc's defense against water last time was absorbing relatively small bursts of water with his hand. That's hardly a defense for someone who can throw a torrent of water at you.
And yet, it's still a farily even game between the two shichibukai. On paper Jimbei should be able to overpower Croc, yet if that fishman lets his guard down things can change instantly. That's part of the drama of this arc.
Oh, but then again thinking that Croc is going to betray the team now is stupid. Without Jimbei and the escapees he'd be far overpowered by the marine's forces. The events here are bigger then one shichibukai, and maybe two as well. People are just getting impatient, but right now these guys need to stick together or they're dead. Betrayal is in Croc's nature, but right now it's not an option. Hell, I can't even imagine where any traitor would gain an advantage in this circumstance.

I don't think Croc is going to betray while they're fighting the navy but after. I think it's possible that after they've cleared the ship of Marines, Croc might decide to just take the ship and get out of there. Probably won't happen but it's one possibility.
-
Croc won't do any betraying until they reach MHQ if he is going to do it.

I made this post on another forum, so i thought it would be interesting to discuss it here too:
Facts:
- Dragon said in chapter 440 that they'll meet soon, that was 3 days after BB vs Ace
- Kuma said in ch. 485: "your son is indeed amazing Dragon". First time he disobeyed a order
- ch. 513: Rayleigh: "And you expect me to believe what you say" Kuma: "That is up to you even i have doubts in this matter"
He saved the SHs from Kizaru and co - Ivankov former Queen/King of Kamabakka kingdom, member of the revolutionarys, imprisoned in ID
- Sanji was send to Kamabakka kingdom
- Revolutionarys freeing slaves on Robins island
Theory:
Its was Dragons plan to separate the crew in order to meet later without leaving tracks and together they will free Ace.
In chapter 440 Dragon already knows the current situation (BB is a Shichibukai, Ace is in ID), with Kuma as a spy or other sources he should know something like that. I don't think that Dragon knew that the SHs would face Moria at Thriller Bark. I would assume that Kuma acted so to find out, if the SHs are trustworthy. The story on Shabondany is a little bit difficult to interpret. I think Dragon planned it from the beginning to seperate the SHs, whether or not they were in trouble with Kizaru and co.
Its a logical way to blur tracks, if you want to meat with somebody.
The question which arises is: why would Kuma have doubts?
Cause there were to many unknown. As example, how would Luffy reach ID?On this part, i've no answers.
But its to strange that Luffy ends up with Ivankov and Inazuma, that Sanji lands on Kamabakka kingdom and Robin is on an island were revolutionarys free slaves.Guess there are more people, who think the same with the new Robin cover
-
i never knew Kuma was dragons spy, nice twist.
-
Awesome chapter
I like Jimbei's Fishman Karate powers -

This ties into 'Luffy's quest as the stereotype Hero's journey" theory I have.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monomyth#The_Seventeen_Stages_of_the_MonomythLast step was "Woman as Temptress"
Next is "Atonement with Father"
The hero reconciles the tyrant and merciful aspects of the father-like authority figure to understand himself as well as this figure.

people saying crocodile might betray luffy now are crazy. he has no other choice but to team up with luffy and the rest of the prisoners so he can have any chance of getting close to whitebeard. the minute the ship is spotted at marineford they are gonna get assaulted from all sides by marines. crocodile is powerful but he would get destroyed by many of the powerful marines there. he needs all those prisoners and luffy so they can create a huge distraction and he can make his way to whitebeard. luffy's only chance of infiltrating marineford is waiting for whitebeard to attack and enter the island from the other side while all the marines head to the other side to stop whitebeard. when they finally find out about luffy's team they will split the marine forces and whitebeard will be able to take down lots of marines.
-
LOL @ all this Jinbei jocking. Talking about Croc barely dried out Luffy lmao. I'm sorry but Mr.1 & Croc would defeat Jinbei if Croc decided to just leave but I don't think he'll do that yet anyway.
do ppl actually think fishmen can control water? On some hydrokinetic ability? That has yet to be displayed. PPL are talking fishmen creating water weapons on land and shit and I'm lost. That'd kinda be lame, that just cuz water is around them they can control it and use it as a weapon. Logia's don't even do that, they can use their element but they don't just automatically control it. You don't see Croc on some Garra shit, if he was he would have never lost.

No it's not crazy. Currently Luffy is in ID and Croc is on a marine ship with one other ally. He teamed up with Lufy to escape and he did. He didn't team up with him so they can go beat up WB. I'm not saying Croc will do it now but I wouldn't be surprised. The only reason he wouldn't is because it'd be easier since he and Luffy are going to the same place for different reasons
the minute the ship is spotted at marineford they are gonna get assaulted from all sides by marines.
No. It's a marine ship. Lets say they manage to take out the other ships, nobody in Marineford is going to be expecting a marine ship with Crocodile on it to arrive. If anything they'll think their fellow marines were attacked which would leave them with their guar down. Nobody knows what's going on at ID at Marine HQ and they probably won't know until they all arrive.

I don't think so if jinbei dips his hand in water and fights croc it's over he lost to luffy's punches back then what makes you think he could survive jinbeis all out punch then he's dead for sureand if you think croc c an win well jinbei has water which is his weakness in the first place then….. well I don't even know what to think
plus mr.1 would be done in in less than a second
-
btw i just thought of something. could all the prisoners captured at the shabondy islands currently be at marineford? i think if they were at impel down we might of seen them. i think at least one of the supernovas must of been captured. since they couldn't process them i think they might be at marineford until they can get all the paperwork done and then ship them out to impel down. if whitebeard does go down then i want lots of future great pirates see his last moments. similar to how many future great pirates witnessed roger get executed. we might have a lot of the supernovas witness whitebeards last moments.

Poision hook in Jinbei's gills. For extra measure dry him up.
Flawless victory.

I completely believe that Dragon has had all this planned oue. Ever since Loguetown, everything went too smoothly for the strawhats.
-
croc betraying luffy right now is impossible cause croc isn't stupid. if he'd turn on them, jinbei would simply wipe him out with the entire ocean as his weapon and croc on a boat. and as soon as jinbei returns near ID and luffy and magellan are fighting somewhat near the entrance or outside of ID, magellan is sure to lose too.
just to mention it: kuma x dragon theories where already out when kuma sent 'em all flying… it's cold meat.
-
Croc isn't going to betray anyone right this second. They're all too useful to him right now. That said, yeah, pretty sure he could take out Jimbei. People act like the guy's made of glass or something. Water doesn't OHKO the guy, and Zik pretty much said it right. That said, the two couldn't fight each other on equal footing, since Jimbei is at his best in the water, and Croc's the shit on land.
