I really don't get how Oda was able to say the manga was half over at the beginning of the skypiea arc because I though he would have to start filling in the blanks but the only thing he is doing is creating more blanks and question marks and skypiea has been over for quite some time now. Also the crew isn't even in the New World yet and this arc seems far from over also so how is everything going to develop? i'm not so sure they are going to fight. i see jimbei being the next guy to stay behind to hold back magellan while luffy and the other prisoners escape. like i said before i think this fight might end up being at the dock since mr 3 is likely to hold magellan for a short while while all the prisoners get to the dock. if jimbei stays behind to fight magellan then i think he might hold the advantage since water will be all around him now and he can fight to his full potential. i imagine jimbei being able to shoot water canons at people while he is underwater. he can knock people out on land with his punches that hit nothing but underwater i'm sure that punching power is much stronger and he can most likely shoot water lasers at people. i think luffy's real battle is going to be at marineford. if luffy fights magellan then i doubt he will get to marineford in any kind of condition to do anything worthwhile.

i'm sure luffy will want to go after magellan but i think jimbei will talk him out of it. jimbei will most likely tell him why he wants to save ace and prevent the war and luffy will understand and then escape. also if magellan destroys all the impel down ships and luffy takes blackbeards ship then how will blackbeard leave impel down? could that theory of san juan wolf having the ship devil fruit be right and that is how blackbeard will go to marineford after he is done? also what about shiryuu? could he of already made his way down to level 4 or 5? if he is allied with blackbeard then i'm sure he will head to the impel down lab and get the antidote for blackbeard and his crew. the lab is at level 4 and so is blackbeard so it's very convenient for him.

And the A-part, that luffy gets infamous and would not be able to mingle with the civilians cuz he'd be hunted - Fishman Island is under control of whitebeard and it's a gateway to the new world. I suspect there's a lot of independent nations in the new world, or nations under control of the four emperors.

Blackbeard and Ivankof will stand up again for sure, blackbeard is a shichi and Ivankof is one of dragon's commander, both definatly will not fall with 1 hydra.
I was wondering who can luffy fight when he reaches marineford? cant really think of a opponent for him, so magellen vs luffy part 2 is definately inevitable.

Really,really outstanding chapter.
I ll just go over it and comment on the stuff:
1.
First we get the perspective on the entire situation with Oda zooming in and out and counting all the facts so he makes sure people are not lost as to how, where and what is happening. He does it really well and in fact that was needed.
For instance if he didnt mention exactly how the beasts got infront of Buggy people would be speculating left and right which durring the magnitude of other informations we are getting (because of fast pace) would result in a chaos…2.
Then we get to a point where prisoners enter level 2 and IVA secures their path beforehand telling INazuma what to do…(btw I think that securing the path thing was drawn amazingly well...I basically got the feeling of how the stairs suddenly colapsed infront of Magellan)3.
Here is a part I find a bit distubing but in a way Oda has handled this great as well.
Its the fights between IVA and Magellan…where we dont get to see 2 things which I found disturbinjg:
a) Magellans reactions to ICA NEWKAMA kempo since I dont even imagine him countering the blows or evading thats why it bugs me
b) we dont get to see how Magellan Finished IVA of…(perhaps its the same as with luffy...IVA throws the punches at him...magellan gets smacked he lives but Iva doesnt)

Then Inazumas hope at seeing IVAnkov and the disapointment as his swift reaction that follow…(throwing stairs at him and Magellans comments are bad ass... )5.
Then ocourse level one final wall of defence…Magellan comes throws hydras at them and the storm of shit that was about to come down is prevented from the man you would find almost the last one to help comes in. (last one being Buggy)6.
Its not yet over without somekind of a question mark given to us…Magelan and the ships...what is he planing and how will his plans work**My answer to the question mark? I say one of the 2 possible:
a) he says as someone has said…set sail so they cant escape...
or
b) he says destroy all the ships (which imo would be better, considering that Jimbei isnt exactly a lousy swimmer)The X factors however IMO will play an important role in this one as well, no more I think they ll play the deciding role in sense of typical shounen cliff hangers when we ll think all went down the drain and they ll come into action! Them being:
- Shiryou
- BB
- like someone mentioned Luffys "bad habit" of caring too much for others to save his ass only**

She can easily make all the marines on a ship her slaves. Its obvious that all ships are gonna be destroyed, we will se that cliffhanger moment in a few chapters. When they feel that last moment that its all over, Hancock will come riding in with her boat. She is the secret ingridient in this arc, the Z variable.

Well I get the hurry Luffy is in, but somehow I just wonder when the heck Oda is going to return to his prior pacing. It wasn't bad, its just that too much is happening at one time! (though I did like Mr. 3 pulling his sacrifice at the end)

If you remember, Mr.3 can create extremely thick walls of wax, and Magellan's poisons can penetrate it as you all saw (at least, not that easily). If Magellan's poison was truly corrosive, why aren't all the people he has poisoned melted into goo, or have any burns of any sort? His poison only works inside the body, so if wax acts like a water-proof barrier, it will prevent poison from getting in. Recall the Mr. 3 survived in a Bananawani's stomach acid by encasing himself in a ball of wax. The only way that he could probably get through that wall is if his men bring out flamethrowers or something…
Also, I wouldn't worry about Ivankov and Inazuma too much. Ivankov, in all his years of being in Impel Down, must have gotten a sample of Magellan's poison and developed a natural antidote to resist it, and give it to the rest of the inmates who lived with him. How else would he know how to cure Luffy? Luffy was poisoned for a considerable amount of time, while Iva was just poisoned mere moments ago. He could be just feigning defeat until he can get Magellan off-guard and beat his ass.

Buggy can only fly in a small area around his feet, as long as his feet have direct or indirect contact to the ground. So as long as he doesn't learn to walk on water, your idea is impossible.

Will Jinbei go after Croc or stay to make sure Luffy makes it out alive? Will Luffy follow Jinbei or help Mr.3 knowing he is obviously going to last less than Iva or Inazuma?
When the fuck will Daz Bones do something? Him fighting Magellan is what I want to see. Biggest danger for him should be breathing in fumes and possibly the poison tipped horns.

This might be the best opportunity for Luffy to take. Magellan is just going to keep coming and coming so they're going to have to fight him eventually. If Luffy could maximize Mr. 3's wax powers to cover himself in, then he wouldn't have to worry about getting put out of action by Magellan's poison. With him, Crocodile, Jimbei and the various others working together, they should be able to defeat Magellan…....but then again, I don't know Magellan's true power so I can't factor everything in, but it'll be worth the try. Once Mr. 3 is glazed over then it'll be trouble once again. Right now, I think he's the best chance they've got.
Oh, and I realize that others have suggested the Luffy Candle Champion. So....there you go. I just hope they don't let Mr. 3 go to waste. It'd be their best chance, I think. At least for Luffy.

I get what you're saying, but to my understanding they only sink as a byproduct of them not being able to swim correctly. If a regular human were to jump into the ocean and flail around they would sink just like a hammer would. To my knowledge the devil fruit doens't cancel out the buoyancy of the user. A bad example would be, if Luffy were to wear water wings, he wouldn't magically sink despite his flotation devices.
The nickname "Giant Battleship" could be referencing anything at the moment and I would like to keep the option of him being a ship a possibility along with the other predictions of him being a firepower fiend or just a huge guy.

As fearsome as poison is, with Jinbei,Luffy,Croc (not sure if he'll join in), Mr1,Mr 2 ,Mr3 and others i'm sure they can take down Magellan fast. This way they'll get rid of a threat and be able to escape smoothly then.

well, i liked chapter, well as every new… i don't think i'll be able to predict anything for the next one...but i'm hoping to see luffy(wax boxer, or sth similar) vs magellan...i don't worry about iva&inazuma they could steal some most frequent antidotes while being in lv5.5...the part i don't like is waiting...

After that he will most probably go his own way, following his plan. I don't think he is going to risk a fight against either Luffy nor Jinbey for he will gain nothing from it and possibly lose.
Other than that great chapter. Magellan really is a one man army, definitely very close to Supreme Admiral level. It's true that he hasn't encountered a strong long range fighter so far, but even so, he's pretty amazing. Poor Mr. 3. However, if he goes down, it will be with a DON!
