Like I said in spoiler thread I don't like the overall pacing lately, there's been so much hype and buildup Oda needs to deliver WB/Great Event already and he better deliver them well.
Despite that, this chapter contains interesting details and info:
1. BB commented on Luffy's Haki, yes Haki, not spirit, deal with it people, we all know there's only gonna be more of em in the New World. Also there should be no surprise that BB can detect it, it's been shown back when Haki was first introduced (Marco commenting on how Shanks' Haki's strong as ever)
2. Awakened Zoan, first gotta say "Claymore" instantly popped in my head >.> I like the development, for all we know Zoan's the most underpowered of the 3 types of DF. This "Awakened state" just gave them an entirely new potential tier (think what it means for Chopper and Drake etc.), and I'm all for that.
3. Love how Oda handles his characters, BB, Croc, Magellan all showed badassness in this chap:
BB: Being his usual, cunning self. But what I really liked was his comment on "nothing is impossible" and "OP must exist", confirming once again that he's one of those pirates who still live their dreams, and in OP that's what seperate you from the rest of the crowd. (now that's mentioned, one'd think BB and Flamingo wouldn't get along so well back in that meeting at HQ)
Croc: "No, actually I don't give a damn", very glad Oda hasn't resorted to sacrificing Croc's char to showcase some new big bad boss (yet), our favored villain is still his calm, cocky self.
Jimbei also had nice screentime this chap by pointing out to Luffy the simple yet less obvious truth, which usually is what Luffy is good at himself. Still our last Shichi so far hasn't been too impressive and more of a sidecast, just showing you the scale of this arc.
Finally, Magellan's my man. Dude knows what he's up against yet he still won't finch. Pwned BB(however temporary) without any BS exchange, even Croc dubbed him "Boss of Hell". And his "last words" with Hannybal makes you almost feel sympathy towards the ID crew (minus Shiyuu, who has clearly defected if not joined BB crew)
Overall, again, a slow but nonetheless decent chapter.
