I find it interesting that episode 391 on hulu is season 11. Makes me wonder even more how a "season" is defined.

Does One Piece have official seasons? I mean, East Blue is Season 1 but after that it's pretty vague…
-
Wikipedia has the episodes separated into seasons, with episode 391 in season 11. I don't have the slightest clue what constitutes a season however.

Episodes 1, 2, and 391 is now on Joost as well. They even have an ad for Full episodes of One Piece on Joost's front page.

Yeah, but for me it says:
"Sorry, this channel is not available in your country.Use the Shows, Music or Film tabs to find shows and channels in your country."
That's weird, because Bleach and Naruto and the other anime don't say that for me.
-
The odd thing is, the files have been on the server since last night…
I wonder why they're not added to the website yet...
Yea, episodes 3, 4 and 392 are already in their server. Dunno why they haven't added it yet on their website :ninja:
-
They're on Hulu now as well…http://www.hulu.com/one-piece
-
apparently episode 391 is part of season 11 according to hulu. probably not definite or anything, but we could use that info to figure out the other episodes seasons if we wanted
-
May I ask how you know that the file is on their server, Alexander Anderson?
-

Yes it does, according to the Japanese DVD release and the Rainbow Anime Databook
Season 1 - East Blue
Season 2 - Laboon, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden
Season 3 - Drum
Season 4 - Arabasta
Season 5 - TV original (All the Filler after Arabasta)
Season 6 - Jaya/Skypiea
Season 7 - G8 and the Davy Back Fight
Season 8 - Water Seven
Season 9 - Enies Lobby
Season 10 - Thriller Bark
Season 11 - Sabaody -
Was just gonna say, looking at the wiki it was pretty obvious the seasons were divided along certain arcs.
-
Okay, 3,4, and 392 are supposed to be up this week.
There's not a lot of week left…

Season 11 - SabaodyActually I'm pretty sure Skypiea is Season 3 here in the US.
-
4kids did cut out a lot of content, that probably messed around with the seasons.
-

True. The "seasons" in the Japanese version have ridicculously inconsistent lengths, and seem like they just randomly slapped some random arcs together…
-
@Alexander:

Probably would be better not to say anything.
Also, I really think it's a bad idea sharing that file off their server and uploading it else where, especially since it's not been officially released.
-
Thanks for the episode Alexander . And I don't really mind if you don't say anything. I don't need to know that badly :ninja: .
-
So, it's still not up yet. Maybe Funimation forgot about us, but they better not do this to 403, when the simulcast starts.
-
I'm starting to doubt they can live up to the one hour after streaming stuff
-
You kinda have to remember this is an holiday weekend.
-
So? I've been working my ass off since Saturday.
-
Different companies have different holidays.
-
Fansubs don't have holidays T.T and we don't get paid shit :p
Well, if Funi wants it up 1 hr from airing they have no other choice but to work on a Saterday or Sunday. -

Well, if Funi wants it up 1 hr from airing they have no other choice but to work on a Saterday or Sunday. No, they dont need to work weekends. they're professionals in communication with the actual licensor. they actually have copies of the masters weeks in advance. they don't have to subtitle it post-airing on saturdays. They have it done and approved beforehand, and just hit an "upload" button when the appropriate time comes.
They aren't going to be frantically scrambling to subtitle it as fast as possible right after airing like fandubs do in an attempt to be the first ones out.
-
I think the holiday weekend probably has a lot to do with it. We'll see what happens on Saturday though, okay? Funimation is a good, fan-friendly company - if they screw up, they will make up for it (they said so at the panel I went to :) ).
-
@Dixxy:

we can only hope this is true
-
What are we whining about now?
-
Something about Funi not keeping a schedule or something. My computer's to slow to run the videos on Funi's website anyway so while I'm grateful they're doing this, I could give less of a crap about the schedule.

Actually I thought they just get a good raw but not very much before it airs since FUNimation might have someone spread the raws before airing or something
-
…........... are you serious?
-
-faceplam very hard to the moon-….
-
Well, there might be leaks but they obviously get a script and raw early as airing
-
yes, because funi has to scrounge for leaks
that's exactly what's happening
-
It'd be a huge mistake to give them a raw weeks before airing as one said.
and I'm just saying their staff shouldn't be trusted to keep the raws weeks before airing. There's always a factor that one of their staff members can distribute the raw before airing. -
-
Anyways, since we're not getting anywhere I just stated my opinion. I doubt that they're getting their raws weeks early.
-
What are we whining about now?
Ah, hey, Q. Let's see… how many times does this make you coming back?
Just pullin' ya leg. XD
-

someone hasn't read this thread
Whoa, I didn't know this was gonna be announced already  It's loading really slow for me too, they're probably getting pounded pretty hard, also strange that they'd leave the .flv out in the open like that.
I'm also kinda shocked because I did that episode only earlier this week and it's already up
Anyway, if anyone's interested, we do have a little more freedom with names and terms now, though they still have to be approved (and sometimes they get changed), but if anyone has suggestions for upcoming names/terms and all that, I'm all ears.
One thing I might do which I can't really do with the simulcast is post some translation notes on my currently-neglected OP blog for each episode as they air.
Anyway, time to get back to work on 403!
-
Oh, hm thanks for the info :)
-
Here's my two cents…
I trust Funi, and I highly doubt they would hire people who would go and obstruct their business by posting the raws before they air on TV in Japan. That would be dumb.
I like how there are so many on this forum keeping in touch with the official guys about this stuff. Nice to know the info is always legit (or usually anyway).
-
Of course FUNi itself wouldn't do it
-
I'm pretty sure episodes aren't finished until a day or two before they're ready to air.
-
392 appears to be up.
What I'd love to see: an RSS feed so we know when the episode is out without visiting four times a day.
-
If you are talking about people ripping the raw from there site, well it wouldn't matter because they are releasing it an hour after they air.
