I vote Ryuuma because he's a ZOMBIE SAMURAI
Ryuma vs. Jinbei
-
-
i vote jinbei cause he's a FISHMAN SHICHIBUKAI
-
One of the things I dislike most about Jinbei is that he's not very smart. Instead of teaming up with Whitebeard to take on the Marines/warlords, he let himself get captured, and made himself of no use to the man he supposedly reveres as the saviour of his country.
-
I'm torn. I love Jinbei, and he was my clear favorite going into this. The Ryuuma campaigns, however, are so good that they've put me onto the fence. WHY!? If only I could see one of them put on a hat…

How do you know that it happened that way. For all we know he could simply have found out about the entire deal the second the Marines approached him to join the fight and got captured immediately.
-
Im not too sure who to vote for; Ryuma is an awesome swordsman ( i love swordsman) but Jinbei on the other side is a freaking shichibukai! Guess ill wait and see other people campaigning and vote during tmr morning.
-
Jinbei looks so cuddly!
-

As I understand Jinbei's motivations, he would never raise a hand against whitebeard.
As I'm at work I can only go from memory, but I remember it being said that Jinbei flat out refused to fight whitebeard, so the Marines locked him up to try to change his mind - even at this point Jinbei could have changed his mind and told the marines he would fight Whitebeard, from what I remember Sengoku saying, so Jinbei would have had multiple opportunities to get out and help whitebeard, even if he did not originally understand what was happening, which I believe he pretty much did anyway.
-
Vote Ryuma! -
Jinbei; I think he's going to be a very interesting and likable character as the latest chapters progress.
-

But being the man of honor that he is, he would never use such a sneaky tactic.
-
Jinbei
Don't really like either that mch, but Ryuma, just didn't really stand out to me, he just didn't leave an imprint in my memory that I regarded as being overly significant.
-
Even if Ryuma is pretty badass [even from the other story Oda did…] I voted for Jinbei, cuz he´s cool ^^
-
I voted for Jinbei cause he is badass and is NOT a freaking zombie/copy of Brook! Beside, Ryuma got owned by Zoro.
-
But being the man of honor that he is, he would never use such a sneaky tactic.
Real men of honour would put their friends lives before a government that allows slavery. Otherwise it's just pride. :)
-
Look at it this way, Ryuma was the prototype for Zoro. Without Ryuma there wouldn't be any Zoro. ;)
@Yamato:
HE IS THE BLACK HAIRED ZORO, HE GAVE HIS SWORD TO ZORO, HE IS MORE AWESOME THAN JINBEI, HE YOHOHOHOs LIKE BROOK, WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED????
A VOTE AGAINST RYUMA IS A VOTE AGAINST ZORO & BROOK:ninja:
OMG!! Now you guys use Zoro to pull me to your side ah… simply effective btw (I'm so easy to read, aren't I :ninja:). There you go… Ryuma got my vote!!
IMO both character are awesome. Jinbei with his way of doing things, his respect for Whitebeard (and fishman karate), and Ryuma simply for being a badass samurai that Zoro respected. Vote Ryuma because of the campaigners though but....

Vote Ryuma!geez Nectar….those pic is disturbing somehow :ninja:
Tare_chan, if you vote for Ryuma, I'll draw you a ZoRobin fanart… I swear! :ninja:
AH!! Don't try to bribe me!!
but I vote Ryuma at the end, so where's the Z/R fanart?? :ninja: -

Ryuma's got that slip-knot thing, that's almost like a hat.
You should vote for Ryuma. In fact, everyone should vote for Ryuma.
Vote Ryuma.

Whats with all the Jimbei hate? Not all of the Sea Warlords are evil y'know. Jimebi's already proven to be a very intriging character who will only become more interesting with time. Oda hyped Japan up for 11 freaking years with this guy. You know he's gonna be good.
-
Ryuma is so awsome i had to vote for him!

11 years for a whining guy brought to a prison and that boring fishmen karate? :) Yeah vote for ryuuma :D
-
Well, I am still waiting for Jinbei to become more than just a boring and generic character.
However, Ryuma never became more than that :/Ryuma's design is WAY more badass though, so I am voting for him.
-
Okay, I've decided. This time it's gotta be Ryuma.
While I don't dislike Jinbei, I did find him a little underwhelming as a Shichibukai and maybe if I understood his motivations better, like if we had a flashback or something, I'd feel more for his cause. Right now though, I don't really feel anything for him at all.
Ryuma on the other hand, just gave me a really creepy-cool vibe throughout Thriller Bark. I liked that he was both noble and ruthless, even somewhat sadistic, really an intimidating adversary for Brook. That and his battle with Zoro was unforgetable…and he's sort of like Brook...and I like Brook.
-
But being the man of honor that he is, he would never use such a sneaky tactic.
you voted Ryuma.. but seem to defend Jenbei..
-
Jinbei's a fish. I bet he even smells funny D: Vote for the walking corpse/dragonslayer :D
-
Both characters are awesome, but I'm gonna go with Jinbei on this one
Too bad he hasn't had much time to shine yet, though… -
WHAT. THE. FUCK.
Ryumma's campaign is waaaay better than Jinebi's, how can he be losing? Do people here actually vote against the character with the better campaign? What's teh use in doing this epic style edits and shit if people are not gonna take them into considerationa nyway? I mean this is the third time now that a character with a massive and badass campaign is losing badly.1)X drake
2)Mr.5
3)Soon to be RyummaI mean at least Drake was against a straw hat so you can kinda understand but this shit is ridiculous. VOTE RYUMMA IF YOU APPRECIATE HARD WORK AND DEDICATION. VOTE JINBEI IF YOUR AN EVILBASTARD.
-
you voted Ryuma.. but seem to defend Jenbei..
These things don't really contradict each other. I do like Ryuma more (so far) but that doesn't mean that I can't defend Jinbei when I think an argument against him isn't very solid.
@Yonkou#3:
BLAH. BLAH. BLAH.
Please tone it down a little bit.
That said you'lö have to live with the fact that at the end this is a popularity contest, which means if people simply like a character they will vote for him/her/it without giving much about the campaigns.
I know that this can sometimes be disappointing for those people that launch awesome campaigns but that's simply how it's supposed to work. Life isn't always fair. Why should this forum be any different?
-
These are real people voting, so you can expect campaigning to have the same impact it would on an election. Sometimes people just have their minds made up and aren't willing to be persuaded to think otherwise. The goal with campaigning is to target those who haven't actually decided yet. Losing your cool and bitching about things is going to have a negative impact on those people.
Fortunately in here, campaigns are fun. Even if a character loses, it doesn't make their campaign less fun unless the campaigners themselves allow it to affect them. A week ago I was 99% sure that Banchi had no chance to win (now it's around 90%), but that wont stop me from making the campaign of my life for him. If he loses, he'll lose with style.
-

Ryuuma said once to his disciple:
"only because life isn't fair doesn't mean it has to stay like that…".
That day, the disciple understood the difference between the strongest swordsmen in the world and the rest.Nobody actually knows ryuuma is the master of zoros master...
Vote for ryuuma.

I'd still say that Jinbei doesn't seem that honourable, at least as I see it. When your choices are to help your friend or tell the truth to an evil slave-trading government that treats your people with contempt, I think then blind devotion to telling the truth simply becomes more prideful then anything else.
-
To sum it up. Jimbei has the potential to become a great character. What we got after 11/12 years is simply disappointing. That's all! Now vote for the samurai whose body+brook shadow managed to give a legendary fight to zoro.
-

Right, the campaings are there for fun (and I do think that the vast majority has big fun with them no matter the result).

Well of course it's a bit fishy to you (no pun intended), it's a Yakuza's honor code which seems to apply for Jinbei. ;)

Some people (especially when authors create them) just can't bring themselves to deceive. Luffy is one of those people, he would regret trying to deceive someone, so he would never ever do it. Based on what we know about Jinbei, it's probably similar.

I can do that, but as to everything else you said. Bite me.

Is also asking himself wtf Spongy is talking about. ;)
campaigning for ryuuma and being crazy :D

I agree, there is no use in campaning if people vote first then look at the campaing…

Unnapreciative people who don't take hard work seriously? Good thing this isn't the internet :ninja:
Seems everyone forgot about the Wapol campaign…
...so much hard work
That being said. Chiiiiiiiillllll ouuuuuutt!
It's a nice day outside
-

Some people like to look at campaigns to decide who to vote for, some don't. What's the problem?
-
campaigning for ryuuma and being crazy :D
Just a quick one, Is it just me or is ur sig outdated?
VOTE RYUMA!
Tis the right thing to do! -
Voting for Ryuma… Hiroy's campaigns won me over.
-
-
It's a nice day outside
Bah, it's too hot in london, and I foolishly brought my coat to work since it was cool this morning. Looking forward to sweltering all the way home…
...but of course, Ryuuma doesn't sweat since he's a zombie. So vote for him, citizens of Arlong Park!
-
Some people like to look at campaigns to decide who to vote for, some don't. What's the problem?
Agreed. There are some members who decide to vote once the matches start. So the campaigns are not in vain. Though there are also some, like me, who have made up their minds beforehand. I never really cared that much for Ryuma other than his decent battle with Brook and his battle with Zoro. I just felt that he was being too hyped.:ninja: I mean, Cindry was actually able to somehow break the hold held on her through Chopper's determination…yet Ryuma remained an arrogant prick towards Brook's determination of regaining his shadow. The only time we got to see the "real" Ryuma was when he was dying and giving his sword to Zoro. The only shadow zomibe I loved was Cindry. I loved her look, her hatred of plates, and her interactions w/ Hogback and Absalom.
-
Ryuma seems pretty cool and I like Samurai so he gets my vote this time.
-
How the fuck is Ryuma losing.
-
I have a hunch that Jinbei will be a lot tougher in this in the 2nd round (assuming he gets there).
-
The Ryuma campaigns have been pretty awesome. But I'm just not that attached to him. I saw some posts about Ryuma's character being from another manga. Perhaps this is where some of Ryuma's fanbase is from, or not. Either way, all in all, I really liked the twist with Jinbei. In that, he's honourable, and isn't just some sore ex-pirate who's bent on burning ants with his magnifying glass. So far, this is what I'm liking most about him, so my vote goes for him. Because I really thought he'd just be Arlong v2.0.
-
VOTE RYUUMA!
-
Thought this would be a LOT closer. I mean, Jinbei hasn't really done anything yet except be hyped for a VERY long time.
-
Just a quick one, Is it just me or is ur sig outdated?
Yeah i will change it right now :)
