Well, that was about as dramatic as suspected. Which is, not very dramatic at all.

Tiny is just the icing on the cake of fail. I mean, did you really run out of depressing things so fast, Kishi, that you had to throw in the king of all sad cliches, a DEAD DOG? Honestly.

The only thing I found remotely interesting is Yahiko. I mean, is he a little Hitler-in-training or what? God-aspirations at that age? Yeesh.

Yeah, this was a very uninteresting chapter. It's like Kishi couldn't come up with anything for Nagato's backstory, and at the last minute decided "Ah, lets just throw in every sad movie cliche we can think of and hopefully it'll work out". Well, hopefully the next chapter will end his backstory, and who knows, maybe Kishi'll surprise us…........or not.

I can't help but laugh about this. Kishi's trying so hard to make Nagato's back-story sad, but it's just so depressingly pathetic, and actually kind of funny. As it's been said, "It trolls itself."

in all honesty though, Naruto STILL should kill him. I mean honestly, mass genocide is never "excusable". :/

Even if his past was a tear jerker, and the 3rd hokage raped his family 80 times, and then his dog, and then him again.

Then the 3rd hokage should be the only person revenge is exacted upon. What's the point of killing the people who have nothing to do with anything?

Nagato's not a psychopathic villain, an evil mastermind or bad ass, he's just a tasteless douchebag. It'll be far too depressing if Naruto doesn't kill him. :/

If he died back when they were all still kids/teenagers, then he'd still look like a kid now. Unless being posessed by Nagato lets him age naturally at the same rate as his friends.

I think it's just the anticipation. We all know Yahiko dies, becomes the "second Pain" and therefore ends up becoming the main body of Nagato's "hive puppet mind". But Kishi could have done the whole flashback right here in one chapter, including the whole "we were trained by Jiraiya" bit that is obviously coming, without adding in stuff like "I used to have a special friend once…but he don't move no more".

I equate it to the dog that Robin found while wandering around homeless. In a way, Kishi is trying to copy Robin's flashback (post Ohara destruction) into his own story; unfortunately, his execution is lacking. The "Orphans of War" doesn't work in a manga like this; civilian or not, he's from a ninja village, which means that he should've expected crap like this. If he didn't want shit like that to happen, his parents should've lived in the country, away from the BS. But chances are, they weren't as "civilian" as Nagato or the Konoha ninjas would've liked to think.

It's still a pathetic chapter, and I don't know why I'm defending it, but just because it's a ninja village doesn't mean everyone is prepared to die at any moment. Not everyone in the villages are ninjas - look at the people who prepare the food all day.

That said, the source of Pain's "pain" was about as hilarious as the spoilers let on. On the level of unintentional comedy "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" was IMV.

Well apparently the first Naruto series is being reshown in Japan. It'll be in Widescreen and have new openings and endings. It'll be called Naruto~Shounen Hen~.

(for the most part so far) Naruto is just jumping on the bandwagon because it's more recent, it's having an anniversary and Pierrot is seeing Toei's ratings so far with DB Kai. I'd ask if someone is braindead...but that probably would have been known long ago.

As for why we still follow this...either some people are completists or we just like to see "how bad can it get".

Brain-washed fans hooked by the initial glory of the series' and too proud to drop them now that they sucks since their egos can't handle they're reading something that sucks or they loved the former glory of the series' too much to admit they sucks now or a combination of the two resulting in them hypnotizing themselves in actually thinking the series' are still any good.

Well that's my theory anyways:P

Ugh, that's one of his biggest problems right now, though. I haven't felt any kind of emotion for any death in Naruto since Azuma.

I don't know how Naruto will die, probably taking out Akatsuki and destroying the tailed beast machine thing, but i'm pretty sure he WILL die. My reason for thinking this? The chain of deaths related to naruto.

People have been dishing dirt on the series and it's main character(s) since part one. And even if Kishimoto for whatever retarded reason decided to kill Naruto for he'd just find a way to bring him back just like with Sasuke,Gaara,Choji,Hinata & Neji.

For me, it's the /headdesk and lol moments. I usually read the new chapters in the morning, way better than a cup of coffee.

Also, I really hope that Naruto and Konohamaru will die, don't want to miss that.

The only positive thing I can think about is that Kakashi will survive the siege. Probably the only male character I found cool and interesting. Shizune apparently died, but Anko's still kicking, so there's still hope for the girls.

Hmm, here's my prediction for the final chapter of Naruto:

Sasuke and Team Hawk arrive at a newly rebuilt Konohagakure, as the citizens stand proud and content with their new village, and they immediately proceed to trash the hell out of it and kill everyone in sight. In the end, everyone in Konohagakure is dead, including Naruto, whose severed head is held by Sasuke. Sasuke addresses the reader:

"Yeah, that's right. You just read this piece of shit for nothin', bitches!"

The final panel is him flipping off the reader, thus making up for all his emo-ness and establishing himself as the most badass character in Naruto. Him slapping Karin like the bitch she is and telling her to make dinner is optional.
