Besides, your reasoning was "it's okay if they're bland and have little personality because they were supposed to be". That means that there's a greater flaw at work than mere character design, as could be argued with the members of CP9. There's very little value in characters like that anyways.

^deep down inside you already know, we all already know, which is why the series is slowly killing us from the inside.
Neji's probably just gonna talk to Naruto or something, put his faith in him or some bull, or fight that one chick so naruto can talk to nagato (which is pretty much just a quick way to get rid of flower girl).
But in conclusion, he will not tribute to the story what so ever.:sad:

He's going to die a random one panel death so Hinata can get more character development. At the hands of Origami beaten by spit girl, none-the-less.
Because after all, killing characters is the only way Kishi seems to know to DO character development.

on a serious note, I am waiting on one of the Hyuga to die though, I thought hinata was gonna use her powers differently but that turned out to be a fluke. So I don't see the purpose of both of them (besides the bitch fight at the chunnin exams). Maybe he planned to but never got around to it..... :/

What happened to the days of the amazingly badass in both animation and music Haruka Kurata> Or the incredibly catchy GO! We are FIGHTING DREAMERS!!! Even Remember had a catchy backbeat with its "woah-oh-ooohs"
Guess the openings have to be filled with more lackluster animation and more emo music to match the tone. ANd its annoyingly telling that instead of the near equal billing the side characters used to get, they're all tiny and in the background now.

Like the song, but the visuals are disturbing. Kinda stupid how they've shown Deva/Yahiko Pain's face in the anime now and they still won't show him in the intro. Ah well.

Sometimes the song can be better than the OP, but I just don't like either. To tell the truth, Shippuden has only had two decent openings: Hero Comes Back & Blue Bird. ("Distance"…well the footage is cool but the song really could have been way better than "You are my friend/you are my fiend")

I haven't watched Shippuden since dattebyo quit fansubbing it, which was when they entered this half-filler half-cannon story. Could someone fill me in on what's going on, like if the filler's over, or if Suigetsu has made a cameo yet?
Also, the new chapter was terrible IMO, big letdown from the recent goodness of the chapters. Next week's should be interesting though

Well half the chapter gone in a flashback to a chapter 2 months before.
But at least now Naruto is the one reyecting the help, not Pwn Slug.
It seems that WhatHisName will leave us with a big naruto cliffhanger, of… Nagato? Yahiko? couging blood and Konan getting defeated by it.

The little differences between the two fights mean absolutely nothing when the main sequence of events follow the same pattern, right down to pacing of the chapters.
Jabura and Kaku were very similar characters, relative to the other CP9. Both were physical walls and fought like bulldozers - likewise, Zoro and Sanji approached their fights and won them in the same way. The battles were a "who can overpower the other" kind of mindless slugfest, which is why they were both terrible fights coming from OP.
OP usually flavours its fight with colourful attacks themed with some kind of underlying clash of ideologies. Buggy's greed, Krieg's strength, Kuro's peace, Arlong's order, Crocodile's position, Ener's vearth, Moria's fear, etc.
OP rarely has a generic fight, even "random encounters" turn out to have some uniqueness to them.
What, exactly, did Kaku, Jabura or Lucci have to contribute given this rich tradition of fleshed out fights? Even if they had something to contribute, that something wasn't any different than what Blueno had to give…or Califa, or Kumadori/Fukurou.
Since Kaku, Jabura, and Lucci were both physical fighters as well, the burdens fell upon Zoro, Sanji, and Luffy to bring uniqueness to the fight.
Only Luffy did that, albeit mildly.

Well, glad to see Hinata is truly alive and kicking. Also, Naruto's wanting to talk and find peace without fighting is a fairly interesting development. But Jesus tap-dancing Christ, I am so sick of hearing "stay out this", "Naruto needs to do this on his own", "Please let me do this by myself". OKAY! We get the f*cking picture! You don't need to reiterate it for every person that hasn't heard it!

Naruto.. a problematic kid is becoming a great ninja, he graduates and start practising with some of the best ninjas in konoha, he then start developing powerful techneques that allow him to be respect and others to say WOW in mangas, he then vanished for some years and returned as an adolescent ready to kick ass, a little later he vanishes again in order to become mega-super-extra strong, in the end after all this improvement he ended being a mudpie.. having gained all this power all he became is a pacifist and a member of green peace.. Y make love not war !!

Yes they do freakin' matter!!! The little details are what made the fights incredible. The constant barrage of kicks to get past by Jyabura's defenses. The bad lie in the middle, going all out in the end, that awesome strategy to pull off the finisher. On the other hand, we have a smorgasbord of techniques that are too numerous to describe finished off with pure focus (because Ashura is NOT a power up, it is an illusionary technique). Jyabura was all defense, Kaku was all technique. And how were kaku's techniques not funny and flavorable? He turned himself into a box!!!
Isn't every battle a who can beat the other opponent? And the underlying theme was the worth of their friend Robin and the burden of fighting against an incredibly powerful organization which should have been obvious with Jyabura calling Sanji an idiot for fighting for Robin and Kaku chiding Zoro for daring to go against the World Government especially for a woman. This is obvious stuf, malintex.
I don't know how you couldn't pick up on them. And no matter what angle you look at, Zoro's and Sanji's fights were nothing alike save they got a new powerup (though Zoro's doesn't actually power him up).
And now you're being biased, if you're trying to argue that way, you can say the same for every group of fighters from Baroque Works to the ull out brawl in Skypeia. Apart from the fact, they give the main characters spotlight and characterization and the emotional tones I already explained, they're to give a sense of struggle and they also make the characters stronger. And they're fun, this is a shonen for goodness sake. But I definitely reject your notion they were mindless and I explained why. If what I said doesn't fit the criteria of not being mindless then all the fights in One Piece are mindless.
Your problem is that you fail to see the creativity achievable in pure physical fighting (which can be quite creative since apart form One Piece, I read Hajime no Ippo) and for you, for something to be creative it has to be thrown into your face with over the top theatrics (yet I still can't figure out why Kaku doesn't fit your standards).
