Now knowing the truly true truth about the past, Sasuke vows to destroy Konohoa even more, still unaware that its a massive crater in the ground. The fact that Konan is standing there hearing all of this is completley forgotten a panel later when it starts raining.

Isn't Deltron just getting played? All the posts from "alex" are (if anything) pro- One Piece and con- Naruto.
The sooner people realize that I actually enjoy these giant quote-by-quote debates the better for them to not try it seriously or in some strange attempt to get me "trolled".

Hmm, well in this case I think it would be a strange attempt to get you "trolled". At least, going off of the users posting history.
-
Before I get on due my last Pm to you I will say that I'm not troll, infact I simply hacked into my Bro's account.
dexter.jpg
I will reiterate I'm not a troll I lied about about my other excuse. I Pmed because I thought you could maybe convincee me One Piece which you failed to do. From my time of lurking here I say you debating with various members then you mentioned of your original accouint name. "Zephos" then I saw some prasing you for your debating skills and so I decided to pm you…...
Whatever the case is, everything your doing is stupid.
I' ll go over my opinion in a more better manner
A film by Spike Lee.
A majority of times when I voice my opinion about One Piece, people just try to say that I know nothing because I have not spent enough time reading/watching One Piece.
Probably because that's what your opinions reveal.
So too clear that up so you guys don't try to use this against me, up until the beginning of June I kept up with the manga.
I have no doubt you read more of the recent stuff.
So in continuing with my way to dispell all the "quickfire" reasons that people who don't know how to present an arguement will fire at me. The reason I continued reading the series up until its present point at the time was that I was told it got good by some friends.
Did those friends include your post history where you anxiously follow the animes development in the US and state that you will "always love One Piece"?
I at the time they kept hounding me about it had already tried to start reading it twice. Both times, I couldn't get past the first volume. But to prove a point, I will go to almost any lengths, most people who know me, know this about me. So I read the entire series as it stood a couple of months ago. Now, I will break down why I didn't like it, and why it is one of the worst series I have ever read.
Skimming isn't reading.
First point, and it needs to be done first because its the most obvious. Oda's art style, some say unique, I say horrible.
Why can't One Piece look like Gundam Seed???
To me the character designs are horrible, the ship designs are horrible and backing for most scenes isn't exactly, well good.
One Piece's backgrounds are inarguably fantastic. You can't hope to win that one in a million years. Especially comparing it to treestreestrees Kishimoto and WHOWANTSSOMEMOFUCKINWHITESPACE Bleach guy.
This is the oldest point about why I dislike One Piece. Most people have used it as their sole argurment, I won't do that. But just throwing it out there, horrible, like it was drawn for children.
I remember that age when I suddenly turned on anything like Disney Movies and started swearing by Future Trunks and the like. You'll get over it eventually when you stop being so damned self conscious.
Luffy is the typical Shounen Hero,
And One Piece is the typical shonen. So what.
he never looses, and when he does,
dexter.jpg
he miraculously gets stronger and defeats the opponent in the same day (Crocodile).
He didn't get stronger, he just got lucky revivals and was better prepared next time. Crocodile was never about strength, he was all about devil fruit power.
See, this is why you shouldn't skim.
He plays dumb but when it counts he knows it all.
Like when?
One of those characters that just seems perfect in battle and yet is the perfect idiot. I'm sorry but its been done too many times. It truely is like these mangakas can only copy Akira Toriyama
Yes, because Luffy is very like Goku, so is everything else about the two. Identical twins.
But the fact is, if you don't present your carbon copy hero in at least a single different way the character will just seem boring.
Can you do anything right? Saying Luffy is very simialer to Goku is legit, but then like an idiot you try to say they are compleyely the same, which is flat out bullshit.
Goku was never dumb by the way, he was a naive county bumpkin.
Nami is your typical naive heroine
Nami isn't naive, if anything she's the most street smart lead.
One bit of naivete whch she really ahd no choice to beleive (the other option being giving up hope) does not make her a naive person., she believes by being a theif she can save her homeland from Arlong, and there it is in a nutshell. Her character summed up in one sentence.
What the fuck lol?
How does that describe her character? None of that is even relevant post-arlong. You suck.Sanji, now, I have not much on Sanji because he is another of those characters who can be summed up in one sentence. Or one word, boring. All he does is end up fighting women, which OH MY GOD he hates doing, I mean, wow! What a great base for a character.
He fought a woman once. Stop skimmin'.
But yeah Sanji mostly sucks when he's dealing with dumb gags.Zoro. Sword in mouth? People think thats badarse?
Badarse? Badarse??
And no, no one gives a shit about that. He's badass personality wise.
I think it looks ridiculas, why in the hell would you have a sword in your mouth?
To slice people with.
It offers no real offensive value,
Except when the sharp part hits something.
all it would serve to do as a hinderance to the motion of your other swords.
Not if you do it right, I'm gonna trust Zoro on this one.
Have you ever tried swing a sword around a great bloody blade sticking out of your mouth, you're more likely to cut yourself rather then cut your enemy. People will try to say, "well thats just how badarse he is!! Well I say, that is just how rediculas he is. Again, its the point of, Oh my god he's got a sword, hes cool! OH MY GOD HES GOT TWO SWORDS, HES COOLER! Well, just add a third and you have an instant character, no substance needed.
You don't get to fucking complain about unrealistic sword physics as a leghumper of Rurouni fucking Kenshin.
Usopp, I would start on him, but I could go all day, so I'll say this, Krillin.
Kuririn. And no, you've never watched DB if you think Kuririn is anything like Usopp. There was never an Usopp in DB.
Baroque Works? Can anyone say Team Rocket?
ahahahahahaha what
Arlong, well, worst villain in the history I'm afraid. Infact, the whole "Mermen" thing was repulsive.
He's bad because you were grossed out by fish-people? what
Third point, the story, the Sky Piea arc speaks for itself,
Skypiea was great fag.
the Arlong arc was boring
Y'know of all the neagtives you could barely say about the Arlong arc this isn't even one of them.
Your not even arguing anymore. Your just saying "X arc? sucked."
, the Baroque Works arc just keep screaming Team Rocket to me.
Alright for crying out loud, I'm getting really tired of all these idiots who have watched like ten things in thier life claiming old as hell tropes and traditions were founded by bad japanese comics in the 90's.
How un-pop cultured are you that you think that secretive organziations were created by Pokemon. Have you ever seen a James Bond movie in your life?
Now we come to the part where I praise the story, a little at least. When Luffy does his Gear 2 thing, I thought that was kinda cool, very Shouneny but kinda cool. But then Oda throws in a Giraffe and I again lose faith for his ability to actually think. The CP9 arc was pretty good, until the Giraffe at least. One simple thing like that just ruins the moment.
Enies Lobby was pretty bad, your starting to sound deliberatly contrarian.
So, all I can say is, I liked about 10 chapters out of 400+ chapters, and honestly 10/400 isn't a very good ratio. This is my opinion on the series, people have other opinions and they can feel free to voice them, but honestly, it won't change my opinion of what is possible the worst manga I will ever read
Then why the fuck are you PMing me essays.
And the pic you posted I've seen a bit better.
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/290/06-07/Just like an 8 year old.
I'm a aspiring writer, and I've been studying art and many others.
I get the feeling your whatever you need to be for the sake of the arguement. If we started arguing pottery you'd be an aspring sculptor.
I've never read Vagabond, or Lone Wolf Cub, Boti.
So you felt you were qualified to declare Kenshin the greatest samurai manga how?
I made a previous mistake on saying I tried only the first vol of Nausicaa( I was tired from work).

Because SP was all worldbuilding instead of action.
Because EL was all action instead of worldbuilding.
-
I enjoyed Enies Lobby a lot myself. Second favorite arc. Sure it was mostly more action than story but that's because it was really the second half of the Water 7 arc where most of the story-building was done in the first half. The action was pretty incredible in my opinion and it still had its batch of hilarious One Piece plot twists, comedy, style etc etc everything I love about One Piece.
Of course this is completely off topic in the Naruto forum:P
@Robby, dont both arcs have a bit of bothO_o? (of course one factor much less than the other and in reverse).
-
CP9 themselves were the main problem, somehwere along the line Oda lost any sense of personality or quirkiness to them and clearly knew he could net more shallow pre-teens by having them be more stoically "badass".
-
@Deltron:

In defense of CP9, most of the "badass" crap only really existed for a few members like Lucci. On the other hand, you have weird stuff like Fukurou, Kumadori and even some of the "badasses" being weird in what they did like Kaku and Calipha. In some ways they were shallow, but not quite completely, with Oda's style always finding a way through.
As for the spoiler (now that it's confirmed):
! Well the one thing to applaude is that Pain is finally no more and only Nagato remains…but now it's up to Kishi to determine what to do without screwing things up too much. (as he's bound to do)
-
@Deltron:

We are the ones getting trolled in this case.
While I certainly endorse the humiliation of stupid trolls, I wouldn't care for watching a battle of attrition between you and the troll for more than a couple posts.
Posting what opinions Alex sheepishly tries to hide by sending them to you in PM is funny enough without the line-item rebuttals.
@robbybevard:
Because Skypiea was all worldbuilding instead of action.
Because Enies Lobby was all action instead of worldbuilding.
That's an excellent way to put it, though I wouldn't say "action" exactly, but "mindless action". EL had too many fights, too many flirts, and not a lot of creativity. Except for Gear 3, and the early fights involving the lesser CP9 like Fukurou and Kumadori, most of the EL fights were bad and formulaic, to boot.
Skypiea was just long, tl;dr for a lot of people. OP can appeal to both people who like action and appreciate a good story, but too much of either drives the other type of fan nuts.
-
@Deltron:
CP9 themselves were the main problem, somehwere along the line Oda lost any sense of personality or quirkiness to them and clearly knew he could net more shallow pre-teens by having them be more stoically "badass".
I don't know about that. Kalifa had her idiot bubble head thing going, Kumadori and Fukorou had plenty of personality (too much for me to point out), Jyabura was more wild and savage, a bad liar and ruthless mixed into one. I agree that Kaku didn't have much of a personality or at least Mr. Oda could never decide on one. One second he's an idiot, the next he's fighting with Jyabura. His sheer pride in being a giraffe always got through though and it was pretty funny to me. Plus he at least showed some form of redemption in the end. Lucci, yeah stoic but he was always like that from the beginning in Water 7 but that was his thing, cold-hearted assassin to the end though he did show hints of bloodlust. Of course if you don't like that sort of thing you don't like it. For me it's cool so long as Mr. Oda only does it once then it gets boring and repetitive (ala Byakuya then Ulquirra style.) Some say he should have went crazy in the end but I always respected Lucci for keeping his composure till the end and how much he idolized his motif, Dark Justice.
But yeah major off topic in this thread.
@Malintex, how was the action mindless or any different from the normal One Piece action? And how were the fights formulaic besides having a power up in them (which does not automatically make it formulaic)?
-
@Thousand:
Robby, dont both arcs have a bit of bothO_o? (of course one factor much less than the other and in reverse).
I actually personally enjoyed both arcs, even if they were a little long. Water 7 is amazing, One Piece at its very best. And even though it had the same villains, plot and character problems, for whatever reason, some people consider Enies Lobby its own arc, which is silly. I was jus tgiving very fast simple parred down answers that sum it all up for other people, near as I can tell.
Uhm. Naruto.
-
@Deltron:
CP9 themselves were the main problem, somehwere along the line Oda lost any sense of personality or quirkiness to them and clearly knew he could net more shallow pre-teens by having them be more stoically "badass".
they lost a lot of their personality as they stopped pretending being carpenters and went back to their former jobs, i agree.
but lucci was naturally badass and actually won some character (losing his pigeon-talk abilities though) and kaku won with his jaijabura rivalry/interaction, while he lost some kindness.
bruno and kalifa on the other had lost all personality.
but what i'm actually trying to say is that they won their personalities back in the cover story and if we'll ever meet them again, they'll be real persons and not some pretending or undercover police roleplaying bunch. looking forward to that.and naruto sucks

What made CP9 initially interesting was how on the one hand, in disguise they were these somewhat quirky, silly folk. But when they were on official duty they were non-nonsense and business-like killers.
During the reunion, we got to see that none of them save Califa were any less tense. This basically meant that, Devil Fruits aside, Kaku, Lucci and Blueno naturally didn't have any personality and were all meant to be little more than walls with different power ratings.
Oda had to add more personality to Califa and Kaku to make their fights interesting.
@Thousand:

All of the battles gave off the impression of being staged. The whole key retrieval quest was an unnecessary, meaningless and trivial chore amidst a grand/epic fight to change history and save a friend. It was a bad excuse to get the characters to scatter and have individual battles.
Sanji v. Jabura and Zoro v. Kaku was basically the same fight, just with different characters. Punches, kicks, blocks, a sudden burst of determination, and a magic finisher.
Luffy v. Lucci was almost the same, but with the Gear 3 interim we got a preview of what would happen in future fights. That alone was really what made that flight slightly better than the other two I mentioned.
Compared with the chaotic battle royals of Thriller Bark, EL was really dull.
@robbybevard:
And even though it had the same villains, plot and character problems, for whatever reason, some people consider Enies Lobby its own arc, which is silly.
EL is often considered its own arc because it took place on a different island, or "stage". Whenever Oda switches stages, he usually switches themes or what plot points to focus on as well. This is what makes each arc unique.
EL was definitely not just "the fight part" of Water 7. Water 7 dealt with Water 7 issues that were also revisited and concluded on Water 7. Enies Lobby was an entirely different fish, almost like a side trip that was necessary for the main plot, unlike Skypiea, a side trip with no impact on the main plot.
Why is it that so many 'aspiring writers' nowadays seem to neglect common punctuation, grammar, and
orthogrspelling?I've personally found the punctuation can be used for dramatic effect, just like the reservation of cursing or anything not normal for someone you know to have certain behaviours.

Water 7 was a great arc and a great build-up for EL. I liked the characters (Giraffes rock!) and the story that Oda was telling is thrilling. The fight with Luchi was very intressting and showed how long Luffy would go to save his friends. The ending with Going Merry suddenly appeard Coughdeusexmachinacough was fun and the viking funeral brought some tears to my eyes.
Just jumped on the train here, folks!

Who says I was referring to Deltron? The statement in and of itself was indirect, to be honest. While Deltron might mix up "then" and "than" quite often – along with the rest of the world -- I cannot say I have seen considerable error on his part. I mean it is the internet, so I cannot really complain if most people don't really care. In any case, if there was anything in particular that sparked my statement, it would have to have been this "alex" critter…

How is it a bad excuse? It would make sense for Robin to have those cuffs otherwise she would have snapped Spandam in half. You could say "Well why didn't Spandam keep the key to himself, why make fakes and all the theatrics?" the answer is that giving the key to a CP9 member and giving fakes to the other ones was the best way to slow down and eliminate the Strawhats forcing them to fight CP9 and get themselves killed (which of course didn't happen) It was actually wuite clever to come up with sucha brilliant plan at such short notice.
And how could you compare the incredible fast-paced footwork of the Sanji fight with the crazy otherwordly techniques of the Zoro fight. Stripping to the most essentials, the Sanji fight was a test of endurance, the Zoro fight was a test of techniique. And the Luffy fight was in an other league of its own.
Edit: @Jarhead, once again that term is mis-used.

Eh, I didn't really mind CP9, since I saw them being cold assassins to be the entire point. Well, aside from Kalifa's IQ dropping like a rock. Kaku's fight had a smorgasbord of different techniques, so I liked that one. Made up for the mediocrity of Kalifa's fight and the battle of attrition that was Jyabura's.

Yeah the cp9 were kinda cardbord(just kinda, aside from lucci an kaku I cannot c where u r getting that from) but they were cold blooded assasins after all, aren't they supposed 2 be emotionless? Pain is about kick the bucket, side characters were neglected,and three bucks say that Pains death speech is going cheesy as fuck and going to have the word 'Pain' and used in the most worst way feasible. The debate between Deltron and a unfunny retarded troll is more interesting than spoilers.....

@Yonkou#3:
Yeah the cp9 were kinda cardbord(just kinda, aside from lucci an kaku I cannot c where u r getting that from) but they were cold blooded assasins after all, aren't they supposed 2 be emotionless? Making them bland after they way they were portrayed in W7 was imo, genius because it shows just how good they were @ the "undercover" aspect, able 2 create entirely diff personalities and stick with them. And if u ignore all of that u can't judge them @ all since they were all JUST comin back from missions, and hadn't. Had a chance 2 relax and go into their "Natural element" as it were. cough Rock Lee
