nakama-fansubs make subtile for One Piece [Special] - Romance Dawn:wub:
I thought this was some kind of parody. "Romance Yawn"?
Didn't it have subtitles to begin with??
I kinda remember seeing it when it was just a day old.
subtile Romance Dawn make by group NAKAMA trans<have typeing="" of="" nkm="" and="" fancy="" attact=""></have>
… Out of all the things they needed to catch up on, this was NOT one of them.

The person who translated the special, along with Dragon Ball's, did quite a mediocre job.
sr i think it is One Piece [Special] - Romance Dawn
but it don't must it
sr people
Is it that special from a couple of month's ago? If yes, then all I can say is coooool!^^
This group is drastically behind.
So they subtitle a special that CAME Subtitled?…
Yeah...
Erm, is that a beladed AF pranks or what the heck is the file I just downloaded supposed to be?
So they subtitle a special that CAME Subtitled?…

As I said in my first post I don't think there is an unsubed version. Or at least I've never seen one. There's no raw ro be found.

All the subbed versions "released" by fansubs back then were directly ripped from that Jump's streaming; but there was an option to watch without subs…i guess no one ripped and shared it.
It was scheduled to be released on dvd anyway, don't know if it's out yet...

I can assure you that the person involved in this release is only involved in the later stages of the release cycle. Our encoder isn't needed for TLC, Attack FX, Editing, etc. so he's on standby until we need him. As you know, we're pretty behind, and it was April 1st, so this was the result. The actual fansubbing is moving along at a decent speed as we're getting past the translation stage in all of them; a group of episodes should reach the editing and typesetting stages pretty soon, meaning they will be ready for release in the near future. I guess I didn't really need to say this here, but I figured there would be a lot of people like you wondering why we're wasting our time on an April Fools troll when we're about 10 episodes behind.

I didn't think this was an April Fools Joke.
I figured you actually Fansubbed the Romance Dawn Special

Thanks for the link m00n.

eighter play it with
http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&q=flv+player&meta=&aq=0&oq=flv
or demux with
http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&q=avidemux&meta=&aq=0&oq=avidemux
And watch with the player of your choice.
Thanks a bunch. Works fine for me now.^^

I'm still hoping for you guys to fix your Movie 9 translation.
@Cain:
I'm still hoping for you guys to fix your Movie 9 translation.
What's wrong with it?
@Gamil:
What's wrong with it?
I don't know for anyone else but I know that I had at least half a dozen times the "this can't be what they are really saying" feeling while watching the sub.
@Gamil:
What's wrong with it?
Nakama… Nakama... Nakama... Nakama...
Every single time the word appears...
Not even K-F does that, they only do Nakama when "It has extra meaning"
Not to mention copious ammounts of this type of nonsense.
[hide]
Though probably not too much a crime, save for the fact that they expect you to read all of that in less than THREE seconds![/hide]
Nakama… Nakama... Nakama... Nakama...

Well, they aren't called Nakama-fansubs for nothing. slapped
@The:

Kaizoku Fansubs translates the Word Kaizoku over to "Pirate" EVERY TIME.
Your Move
The community really needs more non weeaboo subs. I mean, "If you're ambition is strong your haki is strong."? THEY MEAN THE SAME GOD DAMN THING
I don't know for anyone else but I know that I had at least half a dozen times the "this can't be what they are really saying" feeling while watching the sub.
Pretty much. It's so confusing I just prefer watching it RAW.
But also, in their softsub script they forgot to sub the attack names (not so bad with Luffy+Co who you know by heart, but newcomer Mushul). I think they must've tried copying their Hardsub script over, and the Fancy attack simply didn't. Like copying a forum post but forgetting the hyperlinks.
I'm so insistant, not only because it's a good movie that deserves a solid sub, but with an official Funi release nowhere in sight, I'd really like to use the raw + script to burn a watchable DVD. My mom in New Zealand has been wanting to see what the fuss with One Piece is all about, she's watched some of the Funi DVDs I've sent my little brother, but everyone knows the series starts out rather slow and uninteresting to most. Also, my brother, who doesn't have the best connection for downloading episodes would like to see it too. I'm visiting them in July. I might just take a crack at editing Nakama Fansubs' script in a more Ybis/Funi-like fashion and do that, but there's still phrases in there that confuse the hell out of me.
I don't know for anyone else but I know that I had at least half a dozen times the "this can't be what they are really saying" feeling while watching the sub.
Indeed. Now, I don't like straight out bashing other subbers' work, but honestly, the movie 9-translation was grossly inaccurate. I mean, how do you miss the "Noko noko no mi"-pun when they literarily POINT IT OUT IN THE DIALOGUE? ("Noko noko? Kinoko?! (Kinoko is the japanese word for mushroom.)")

In all fairness I wasn't bashing them really, I was just pointing out what I considered wrong with it. Ok, it might have worked better if I provided some examples but I couldn't hardly memorize everything. But from the top of my head I'm sure that there was a major screw up when Dalton explained the Isshi-20 deal to the Strawhats. Other than that I don't really remember and I'm actually happy about it.

And the OBVIOUS thing about his name
Mushuru
Why does that become "Mushul"?
It's obviously "Mushroo"

Wouldn't the u at the end need to be elongated to make it Mushroo?

Are you part of the Nakama Fansub team? I hope you guys don't use the crappy psychedelic colored raws with the picture cut off at the bottom that have been coming out for the laws few episodes since 392 or so.

Where was this line?

Also is there another sub out there for movie 9? I'd like to check it out if there is.
dudes, I wish I had read this thread before I downloaded this movie, I'm having second thoughts about watching it now..
Guess I should have done some research beforehand , :U
The April Fools aside, I figured I'd respond to a few comments directed at us:
A.) We are aware we are behind. And despite our busy schedules and limited staff, we are working as hard as we can to get caught up, but I doubt you guys would understand how hard it is to work with no translators (TLCers we have, but no one who can make a 100% accurate script without much needed reviewing and editing).
B.) I'm not getting into the nakama crap again, but we DID have a poll on our site and it seems most of our gathered fans want nakama, so nakama they get. However, we try to limit it as much as possible. Despite movie 9, anyone who has seen the latest releases should know this… It can't be helped if "weeaboo" words have become popular for some people in the One Piece community.
C.) We are going to propably have a version 2 of movie 9 someday, but obviously that is not our main concern atm.
D.) Movie 9 was done with VERY limited staff. We didn't even have the number of TLCers back then. I did the best I could, but it can't be helped that I have limitations on my Japanese knowledge. Our current work has no such errors, because we take the time to thoroughly inspect them, only to be criticized by another group of people for not releasing the day after it airs. I find it funny how we can never find translators, yet 10 people all seeming to know fluent Japanese jump the gun to insult or criticize. >>
Anyhow, this isn't intended for argument, but I wanted to throw my two cents into the barrel. Not many on this forum were ever supporters of us from the start, so I don't really feel the need to go out of my way, but some things did need explanation.
Also, quick side comment. W I can understand nakama, but why translate haki? "Ambition" just doesn't sound right to me, even if its the right translation. I wonder what Funi will use when the time comes.
Because Haki translates to ambition/willpower, so why NOT translate it? It's not about what sounds right, or what sounds cool, a sub is supposed to translate one language to another, not pick what words sound cool. Haki isn't some magical word in One Piece that doesn't have a translation. Not to mention, haki has never even been established as the official term for that power. No one has ever said, "Hey guys, watch me use my haki to knock this guy out!" or anything.

I don't know why you think we wouldn't be able to understand why you don't get far without translators. I think that'd be the biggest problem in a fansub group.
And I did appreciate you guys getting movie 9 out so quickly. Whenever you get version 2 out, I'll probably nab that as well.

Well whatever, I'm getting sick of arguing with this forum about untranslating words and translating words. I think the biggest issue around here is that all of our own personal tastes clash together.
Anyway, I didn't write that post as a way to get attention or anything, I just wanted to let people know that we are trying and that we're in a tight spot. It's not you in particular or anything or this forum's members. It's mainly the people bashing us on our site that just don't understand. But I suppose those people will affect any fansub group, even Yibis if for some reason (hopefully not) they should fall behind due to issues.
Anyway, once we get caught up I would like to do movie 9. It was a rush job mostly, and hopefully we can get a better version out with reduced nakama and get many things fixed in the translation.
@fdein - Well our main problem is translating, but we could use help if you're interested. However, it's not appropriate to recruit people here on this forum. After all, this is mostly a Yibis ground anyway (that's where it started) so it'd be disrespectful. If you are interested you can PM me and we'll discuss it there.

Yes, I am. You just have to click on my name to see my profile ^^*. And I don't think we'd settle for a raw like that.
I'd thought I'd add that "haki" does have relevance apart from ambition/willpower, although they are one and the same. That's all I'm really able to say.

The image is possible to fix. The color is simply caused by the saturation being too high, easy fix. In fact, I already have the encoding settings in place that fix the saturation and adjust the image back to what it was in raws for previous episodes.
The other can be fixed with cropping. Cropping doesn't encode too well. I had all kinds of troulbe with 385 encoding and I think they might have stemmed from the cropping I had to do. It was teh first time I've had to crop for a release.
you can fix it with avs, but not very recommended
the other option is to use an "HD" raw that looks like it was upscaled from SD.
by avs I assume you mean .avs files. I'd just fix it before hand with little compression so that actual encoding would be easy.
can't do no compression, hard drive would hate me.
I love when demonrin rages
