Great chapter. Loved it. Reminded me a lot of the scene in Yu Yu Hakusho where Yusuke absorbs the spirit orb. I love how One Piece can present you with the most predictable ending ever ("FOOOOOD") and it's still awesome.
Also I love the length. I know this was an exceptionally dialogue heavy chapter but compared to Naruto and Bleach which you can read in 3 minutes or less, it's so satisfying.

I don't know if Luffy shouted 'Meat' or 'Food' is because he is completely healed due to his willpower, presumely the Haoshoki or he is just too hungry that's what explained he became very skinny and didn't eat any food.
We already know that Ace, Jinbei and Crocodile is on Level 6, the 'Eternal Hell' and Shiryuu is locked in that Level, maybe a maximum security cell to prevent him from killing prisoners or so. Also, Shiryuu's figure seems to have wings too, possibly devil wings or dragon wings? Shiryuu being the final boss of this arc would be perfect.
On the other hand, I was thinking about Iva saying of a prisoner who first founded the Level 5.5 had the Devil Fruit of 'Tunneling', at first I thought Ms. Merry Christmas had the Devil Fruit that allows her to turn into a mole and can dig some tunnels but she is now working at the new Spider Cafe and the the tunneling of Level 5.5 happen way before the events of One Piece happening. I predict that the prisoner could be Kijinshi or so?

Dude, to me it seems like he is just muscle, no skin. So no, I don't think that is a beard.
Actually I think that's his blood that's frozen on his face. Notice on the first two pages that they're still in a freezer like room. Why that part of the room still frozen and the others aren't is beyond me though.

I swear, "D"eus Ex Machina. Have you noticed that Luffy seems to get out of life or death situations without so much as a scratch on him? Also, how he heals much faster than normally thought is astounding. Methinks Oda was pretty clever when he chose that particular initial.

This was a really good chap based on the info Iva provided us. Although a light run down it was thorough. Also liked the quick showing of everything else going down in ID.
It's probably doubtful but I wanna see more lvl 6 prisoners Iva made it sound like a whole bunch of important/crazy strong ppl are down there.

damn i expect next chapter to be even greater than this one. i will try my hardest to avoid the spoilers but i don't think i will be able to resist. :( wonder if luffy will end up fighting magellan in level 6 or if he will encounter him somewhere else. would be cool if luffy had his final fight with magellan in level 6 in front of ace, jimbei and crocodile. although like i said before i don't think magellan will be luffy's final enemy. since luffy is likely to be immune to magellans poisons i think he might end up defeating him quickly but luffy will likely have to fight either shiryuu or whoever is coming to escort ace to marineford. if its akainu then this will be epic.

Luffy's healing rate really is insane, although I'm kind of wondering exactly how many years Luffy will end up living. With his frequent use of Gear 2nd and this latest shortened lifespan I'm thinking he won't make it to 30.

i just thought of something. whoever is coming to escort ace to marineford is going to be very powerful but i don't know if the marines can spare sending an admiral so what if they send garp? would be cool if garp was the final boss of impel down. luffy vs garp would make for a nice ending to this arc.

in Luffy's defense. I'm sure that Croc was sent there with straight orders from the WG, Luffy infiltratedthere, so it was Magellan's quick decision to send him down to lvl 5 (plus, he was sure that Luffy is going to die anyway, so it doesnt really matter where he is put). But if Luffy wasnt that much poisoned and the WG heard about the news, i'm quite sure that they'll send him down to lvl 6 (I think)

i dont think luffy would have been sent to level 6. croc was someone the government had put their trust in and who want behind their backs and did some sneaky little plot, so the wg would want to cover it up.
luffy infiltrated, maybe worth covering up, but if he had been caught outside he would be another level 5 criminal
i have mixed feelings about bon chan joining now, i didnt want hi before, but i feel like he deserves it

Perfectly made for me at least and the best moment for me was the pannel when the door almost break…
Now I am excited to see the next one, it should be a blast.
1. There is 7 hours left to the execution and people are going to go down to bring Ace up which considering Luffy first has to come out and eat will probably mean he ll chase after them , even if I wuld prefer that not being so...cause that is somewhat a logical conclusion and a clishe but I believe Oda will do better then that, well I hope.
2. I now hope and expect, Luffy finally snaps and removes anyone in his path...
3. Wanted to say that while how there can be a level 5,5 didnt really convince me, I must say about the hormones part and all, great job by the mangaka

Also Ivankov didnt heal luffys bloodm he just stimulated his antibodies- he is fighting (was fighting ) against the poison on his own. Oda made sure to make that very clear.

@ Marguerite: Don't forget that we don't know the outcome of the Shanks vs Whitebeard battle! For all we know, Shanks could be on his way as well! Also, I wonder if Garp would just sit back and let Ace die? It might jeopardize his position in the Marines but Ace is his grandson as well as Luffy.
If anything, I know Oda's gonna pull something massive off. It's his style. And I know he won't let Ace die like that…unless this is the moment that breaks the whole 'nobody dies in One Piece' trend :sad:

I just speculate. Actually Dirt monkey Al had a better explanation to this. She said that he had skin on his bones meaning that luffy lost a lot of weight during the treatment. That's a good explanation to why he is starving so much now.

Another great chapter. All the information we found out this chapter about people on Level 6 is just great. I can't wait to see Shiryu show up. With Ace getting ready to be taken away, things are getting right down tot he wire.

What battle ? Shanks went on MobiDick to have a discussion with WB, it was not a battle even if it ended with a clash. What we know instead is that Shanks fought Gaidou who wanted to stop WB. I don't think Shanks will try to save Ace by his own, it is WB responosibility, he won't interfere, at least not until absolutely necessary (WB defeated or unable to reach Ace on time).

I think it's hillarious all those Goof Balls locked up with Ace are the legendary pirates. Didn't a whole bunch of people say that they had terrible Character design and that they're not Level 6 material??? LOL
The Strongest Woman in the Pirate Era??? I need to see this lady and all the other legendaries… Why fight Megellan or Shiryuu??? Just use tunnel.. get to level six.. and free the legendaries! I don't think Megellan can stop Ace/Jinbei Combo let alone all the prisoners from level 6.

Iva said the treatment depends on the willpower of the patient, all she can do is provide him with +3% chances of survival. Luffy has the greatest will-power since Gol Roger so he is able to heal faster, with time-constraints of his brothers demise.
Honestly, these trials and tribulations are what probably killed Gol, he must have been forced to shorten his life many times, and only gotten to enjoy the title of Pirate King for a good couple of years before knowing his life would end, thus giving himself up.
One thing that is disappointing me though is no word of Whitebeard yet.. I can understand Oda's reluctance (however LAME!!!) not to show us WB vs Shichibukai + Admirals but at the very least Whitebeard should have crashed into ID and started wrecking @#%^ up… causing some kind of disturbance at least by den den "AHH THE OUTER WALLS HAVE BEEN BREACHED, SUMMON MAGGELAN WE NEED MORE SOLDIERS" or something to that effect.

The shear number of lifers and death-row inmates is a bit ridiculous. Is Luffy bad enough to be sent to level 6 if you include his win against Moria and beating on Carlos? If not then have all these people have done things worse than Luffy or Crocodile? Thats a lot of fallen Islands, cities, nations, fortresses, and strong marines/government agents if that is really the case.
Makes the scene with the guy getting beat for not sharing his bread with the gang of thugs even odder. They referred to him as a new guy so that means they just recently added another lifer to ID? Or were those prisoners actually on a higher level and simply dragged very far to level 6. Doesn't make much sense at all, which way you look at it.
