That's right, no One Piece next week. Aohige said it's on the last page of the chapter.

Another possibility is that the story moves to that of the rest of the crew. We will probably go deeper into their own mini adventure then at about the same time, they will probably all learn of Ace's execution and understand Luffy will try to save him. They will then rush to Impel Down and the Strawhat crew will attempt to escape the battle that is WB vs the WG.
This is all speculation so it may be just garbage.

Or Oda is working on the movie again. Or he just wants to take a break

No he didn't. Quit trying to stir trouble.

Doesn't matter who said it - there's no chapter next week anyway.

This post is deleted!

@Thousand:
No he didn't. Quit trying to stir trouble.
Aohige said it on another forum.
Relax, your on the internet. -
-
you crack me up everytime, thanks :D
-
does anyone think mr 2 will transform into luffy so luffy could get away to the kichen?
-
Not sure if that will work, since the two are wearing different clothes.
Ah, it just came to me. Mr. 1 will be the one to beat Magellan, because as anyone who's played Pokemon knows, Steel is immune to Poison!

even if it only provides a minute by him runing away or something that might be enough time.

It was a joke.:wassat:

I can buy this, I am a fan of the SH's coming to where Luffy is and being involved in the WB vs. One Piece vs. Shanks vs. WG vs Me vs…..well, you get it!
I think this guys right there was definitly no reason luffy was able to dodge that attack unless he used haki
so can king haki do all other haki's can do?Well….this explains alot!
LOL, hanyaball is by far the funniest character in one piece. he should join the strawhats and be ambitious about becoming captain (I know that's a horrible idea).
Couldn't agree more, I lol alot reading this chapter!
Oda 4 namaka!

Hm, looking at Mr. 2's map, there are two ways to get to Level 5; the staircase that Sadie and the Demon Guards are on, and one near Magellan's room. I guess Luffy could use Gear Third to punch a giant hole in the wall and take that one, but that would be too easy, wouldn't it?

really I don't see that written anywhere
EDIT: Never mind I forgot 2 read comments after that… wait who's Aohige

I feel like the pool of blood is kinda a shot at 4kids.

I think what you are seeing is the Lift. That other thing connected to Magellan's room is the Guards' chambers. On another note, I wonder if I should add these little maps from Impel Down to my Map Thread…?

….Yes, add the maps to your map thread. :getlost:
-
If I may speculate as to Luffy's escape, I believe we may have overlooked something. Yes, there are a lot of warships guarding Impel Down, but if the past has shown us any thing, it is that fishmen don't have much trouble destroying warships, even those as low as the guys in Arlong's crew. Now, should Luffy manage to free Jimbei, I'm sure he would be able to take down the ships surrounding Impel Down from under the water with very little effort, probably leaving a single escape ship. Possible? Maybe.
-

….? Well Impel Down isn't really "Geography", and the thread is "One Piece Geography". I know I put a thing or two in there that wasn't really geography, but this seems like it fits the outline and purpose of the thread. I'm just not sure it is important enough or that people will care about this.

Speaking of which, I really want to see Jinbei swimming…fat lard.

What was the correct translation of the Kaidou bit? Did it specify he was trying to stop Whitebeard, or was it vague and just said he was going to attack him?

Welp, I think for the most part, the maps that Oda has provided have all provided us with at least some little bit of information in their own way that we might not have been fully able to put together by ourselves. So, personally, I think I'd put them in there. :) Up to you, yo.
-
Oda's having a BLAST with this group of villains isn't he? I think OP is the most fun when Oda's having fun too.
Magellan in the chair is fucking priceless.
Great chapter. Love the twist on the Mezu being a zebra. Not sure how I feel about them being speechless but hopefully Sadi will be around to provide Mmmm~ heated dialogue.
I'm pissed about the week off especially since it could mean a color after the return which would delay our next mini-arc yet ANOTHER week (DAMN YOU AND YOUR PATTERNS ODA) but this was a great chapter to end on AND felt long as hell. With two big spreads in the middle I was surprised when it just kept GOING. Very satisfying read, should last me two weeks.
I will eat those words.
-
So far Oda's done
-Luffy
-Usopp
-Chopper
-SanjiPeople left are
-Zoro
-Nami
-Robin
-Franky
-Vivi
-Karoo
-BrookSo
7 more chapters of Strawhat covers
Probably 3 more chapters with colorspreads
With Goldenweek and normal breaks, probably a month off for Oda
so I think it's logical to expect the new mini-arc at the very beginning of Summer (end of may or beginning of june)i really really am anticipating this one, especially considering the fact that the last one had a ton of possibilities, and this one doesn't have many
-
Which is exactly why it's painful when we get color spreads AFTER breaks. It's like getting punched in the stomach, THEN the groin.
-
@45°Dunc:

Marine: "Kaidou meant to take this oppurtunity to eliminate Whitebeard."
Kaidou was gonna attack Whitebeard but Shanks intervened. -
Marine :According to central, It "SEEMS" Kaidou was going to try to stop WB and the Red Hair interfered.
The word "SEEMS" isn't sure the only way we can know what he really intends to do is for ODA to write a chapter about it lewl.
-

Yeah, everyone has a different version, thats the problem.
Obviously we aren't told much, but theres a big difference between 'eliminating' and 'stopping'. -

So, when the straw hats escape, will Jimbei be carrying luffy, Ace, mr3, Buggy, mr2 along with him while he go destroying ships?
they're alll ability users…(that's one heavy load)
GOOD LUCK JIMBEI! WORLD"S FATE IS (literally) ON UR SHOULDER!
ps. i laughed hard that the four "demonic" guards...i should've expected after i saw minatorious i guess....
-
Marine :According to central, It "SEEMS" Kaidou was going to try to stop WB and the Red Hair interfered.
Hm, you're reading a different script from me. I've been reading that Kaidou was trying to approach (and attack) Whitebeard, not stopping him from attacking the World Gov. In your context, Shanks sounds like a douche for stopping Kaidou now.
-
Luffy and the gang defeat Magellan and think all is well, until Hanyabbal takes the position of Warden. Mad with power he causes Impel Down to self destruct as Luffy and Ace smile into the sunset
I still don't think Luffy will manage to rescue Ace. I still take it as if this is one of those situations, where all the efforts of the protagonist can't stop the worst case scenario from happening. I am aware though that everything points against that idea of mine, but I just can't shake that feeling off.

No matter which translation you use it will always cover the component that the Marines are speculating about it which pretty much makes sense since they only know that there was a confrontation between Yonkoh but lacking any concrete information.

Luffy failing at saving Ace will be the second huge depression after shabondy. I mean luffy is always optimistic but a second failure like that will (i think) change him. Maybe change him negatively. I mean luffy always save his friends when they are in danger. His character leads to adventures. If he fails to save ace he may in future be afraid of saving other people because of that :(

Luffy saves Ace.
Whitebeard still clashes with the MHQ.! Ace joins Luffy

Actually failing to rescua Ace would be a different failure category then the Sabaody failure. The category I'm talking about is the failure of stopping worst case scenarios from happening. We've seen that in the following situations:
-
At Arabasta. The worst case scenario the Strawhats tried to stop at any cost was the collision of the royal guard and the rebellion armies. They did everything to get there in time. But once they got there in time, Crocodile succeeded in making the war take place.
-
At Enies Lobby they wanted to escape before the Buster Call fleet gets there. But at the end they've been confronted with it.
-
At Thriller Bark they most certainly wanted to avoid a confrontation with Odr. But in the end this is exactly what happened.
So in short while the Strawhats won each fight at the end, they still didn't manage the worst case scenario from taking place. An author doesn't introduce a worst case scenerio if he doesn't want to use it at some point. However he has to wrap it around in the way that the protagonist want to stop it from happening otherwise it would be an anti-climatic way of storytelling.
And in this very arc right now the worst case scenario would be Ace getting sent to Marineford. I actually still think that this is possible. I don't think that he will get executed though. The main reason why I think so is because I still believe in the "next time we meet will be a the top ("Pirate's Summit")" statement by Ace. And the depths of Impel Down are the exact opposite of that. So a meeting between Luffy and Ace now has to be prevented in order to make that happen.
So you see, it's a different category then the Sabaody failure. The Sabaody failure is the same category as Zoro losing to Mihawk or the Strawhats losing to Aokiji. Here the Strawhats fail by being utterly defeated by an superior opponent. In what I suggest the Strawhats fail by stopping a certain development from happening. Two different pairs of shoes. ;)

IMHO, breaking into ID and saving prisoners is being a the top. I mean, look how many top criminals around and tell me this is not a "pirate summit"? eh?
-
A possible option is…
Akainu is sitting down in whatever level Ace is and just guarding him, preventing anyone from disturbing the plan...he wont move an inch from there untill Ace is safe and sound on a death row platform...
It would be a bit streched considering how we didnt get not even one hint of him being there but only then we could say Marines are doing their job as they should...
-

IT IS NOT A PIRATE SUMMIT!!!
-
Think Akainu showing up by the end of his arc is very likely. Don't think he's actually guarding Ace but he will be the one to transport him when the time comes. Luffy and co will get through ID and back on the surface just to be staring down the baddest marine in the face.
-

You best be joking, nigga.
-
You best be joking, nigga.
Nah I'm sure Ace meant he would meet his brother around all failed pirates and criminals.
-
Wow. And I was thinking Luffy dumped his Gumo no Fireworks. I could imagine the collateral damage of Jet Fireworks. Oda is probably saving it.
-
Wait…a thought popped into my head. How will Ace feel about himself if he does get rescued by Luffy or WB. Will he be able to live with himself. I get the feeling his pride is gonna force him to try to get stronger before he joins the WB pirates again.
-
IMHO, breaking into ID and saving prisoners is being a the top. I mean, look how many top criminals around and tell me this is not a "pirate summit"? eh?
…I'm sure i've asked this before, but are you mentally stable?
-
@Fiasco.:
…I'm sure i've asked this before, but are you mentally stable?
I'm as mentally stable as anyone who likes all the weirdness of One Piece and hangs around an internet forum discussing hypothetical things about a fiction work that is not even finished yet.
I was joking about the 'Pirate Summit' thing, but I'm not joking about Luffy's actions being enough to say that he is among the 'top' pirates.
"When next we meet, we will be at the top", right?
-
Yeah cause when Ace said that he defiently planned to get messed up by a big fat guy and get thrown into a dark damp jail with some tuna.
