The Daz
This is what I mean:
Robin Miss All Sunday outfit is different too. And both of their skypea clothes. And ETC.
And all examples above. THIS is why I wanted to see Oda do Kizaru before anime. Now there will be two versions of him =_=
@Al!naJames:
Buu - Miss Monday was black and Moria was white. This is enough for me to consider that Oda actually doesn't want to tan his other characters.
Most promising and most dissapointing indeed T_T
What are you even talking about?
About the cover of volume 52 if you couldn`t figure it out O_o

It's disappointing that Miss Monday is black?
It was a reply to the post above mine O_o Most promising and most dissapointing volume cover ever.
Usopp's shorts are a different color compared to the Jump cover (much like Zoro's Jump and vol. 51 colors).
D=
Ew, Luffy's pants are red again.
The SBS is officially dead to me.
Give us the dirt, dammit!!
There is none. Really…
Wait, no sbs or nothing usefull at all?
Probably nothing useful at all…
SBS 1
He wastes time starting as usual.
Someone asks if the mermaid met someone called 'Ochin' what she'd call him.
Ochin-chin, or penis in Japanese. Oh, that's so funny you fucking shit.
Oda says he only writes the masculine 'Ore' in hiragana because that's how he feels like writing it.
Someone asks if he's an Esper. Oda doesn't know. So interesting.
SBS2
Someone asks what the thing using Soru in his kitchen is. Oda says it's a cockroach. Almost a half page is wasted on this.
Someone asks IF CHARLOS WAS ABLE TO PICK HIS NOSE BECAUSE THE BUBBLE WAS THE SAME AS THE BONCHARI BUBBLE.
Fucking moron.
Someone asks why Nami kicked Brook on page 95 of volume 51. Oda said it was because he asked about her panties again. Wow, didn't see that coming.
SBS3
Someone asks if SBS actually stands for Shimoneta Boshuu Shimasu, (Looking for Dirty Talk). The reader goes on to admire Franky confusing the word 'hentai' (change formation) for perv during the Duval battle. Half a page is wasted on this. The other half is wasted on that fucking retarded "Let me join Shichibukai" dumbfuck.
SBS4
The wild and crazy antics continue with a similar style used by a fan to introduce a retarded-looking Jinbei.
A fan asks if his shadow was stolen. Oda asks Moria and finds out it belongs to the zombie with the My Life t-shirt.
ha.
Someone asks if Oda uses assistants or not since his art style is so consistant. Oda replies that he draws all moving things in the comic. Any mangaka that leaves moving things to assistants comes away looking somewhat 'different'. He specifies: crowd scenes, animals, smoke, clouds and the sea.
SBS5
A fan lists all the pirate name origins of the Rookies. Oda agrees with all but the source of Capone who he says is from Al Capone and William le Sauvage. Killer he just made up.
Then finally we get the first VA SBS.
First is Tanaka. Next volume will have Zoro and Nami.
I'll get to doing these in a bit.
But yeah. The SBS is dead.
I will say though. The cover, is far better than any of you ever imagined.
Ah, so we learnt… NOTHING this time. Great. Bravo.
I love your comments, though, Greg XD Made me laugh for good.
I also love it how whole Japanese Tegaki bord is ramping about the 52 cover begin EEW.
Greg became The Angry Manga Nerd there for a moment. XD But yeah… baaaad. Hopefully Tanaka's is better... I thought they weren't doing these?
are people really not asking good questions? or do they choose the ones that come from the 8-12 with learning disabilities sector?
mebbe they saved better questions for Tanaka?
Though, since I read that Tanaka doesn't read the manga, there's not much she could answer about things we might want to know anyway.
!
!
People probably aren't asking any questions Oda is willing to answer, like "What is One Piece?", "How long till Raftel?", "What are certain characters that has been around forever last names?"
Maybe if we had a solid way to send in our own questions the SBS might get a bit more interesting, but who knows.
@Cover: It does look more awesome! DO WANT.
Cover art: boring + dissapointng, E
SBS: Ugh… what? F
Under-cover: B! XD
Inside-cover picture: A+++++!!!! XDDDDDDD
Maybe if we had a solid way to send in our own questions the SBS might get a bit more interesting, but who knows.
Nope. Oda only selects dipshit questions. It's entirely his fault. I've sent countless decent questions that aren't detailed but are more about the creation process or his inspirations.
Nothing.
We get some fucker from France who wants to know what kind of bread Oda likes or Koreans that can't see Luffy's shorts on the logo.
But cheers to the aliens appearing. That's awesome.
Honestly, I say we shouldn't expect much. OP is a silly series with lots of awesome and epic stuff. So thus, we should expect the same for the SBS, maybe a little more of the silly.
I can't be entirely mad. There might be a good reason he only answers goofy questions. Though, it definitely gets annoying.
"What are certain characters that has been around forever last names?"
I'll go ahead and be the mature one by not responding to that.
Wait. Damnit.
Yeah, that sounds pretty abysmal. I'm all for being laid back, but it would be nice to have a balance between the goofball stuff and the informative stuff.
The cover does look a bit better up close, but I still think he could've down so much more with it. But again, Epic Fail for not ending with 513. Volume 18 has just over 220 pages, so it's not like they didn't have any more room.
Oh well, guess we'll be moving on to Volume 53 soon.
cover never looked bad to begin with
why the fuck would Oda put a spoiler char on the cover. If someone were to buy that volume with Kizaru on the cover before they ever got that far in the manga, and that someone only reads by the volume and doesn't read weekly jump they wouldnt know about him.
Tell that to Volume 14 (Mr. 3), 16 (Hiriluk, Chopper), 18 (Ace), 33 (Foxy), 45 (Garp, Coby, Helmeppo), etc.
He's put plenty of ''spoiler'' characters on the cover of the volume they're introduced in.
Considering all the hell that broke loose this volume, many of us expected a lot more than this.
The cover does look a bit better up close, but I still think he could've down so much more with it.
Well, I liked the cover to begin with but actually I was referring to the under-cover.
I see, wasn't clear to me.
Still, the main cover could've been worse I suppose. We could've gotten another Volume 34 cover. (The one with just cells of Galley-La and Luffy.) Worse one in the series.

Even though that's what I thought at first too, after the big reveal, the cover makes all kinds of sense.
Well, the cover isn't that bad, but holy crap on the Pandaman under the covers adventure! This was the most eventful one yet!
And the SBS was another crappy one. I feel like Oda only does one or two really juicy SBS' a year though so I can live with it.
So, we got Pandawoman now. Is she new?
So, we got Pandawoman now. Is she new?
Did someone spot a well-endowed Pandawoman during the Kuja thing? I know we found a female-ish one but I forget if it was really a woman. Check the hair-style. Again, the appearance of the aliens has me creaming my pants.
Okay, so the VA interview. It's actually the second-most interesting piece of info from the SBS section. Even though I'm nothing less than furious over the continued violent decline of quality in the SBS, his answer about what he draws and why was very interesting. I wonder if he realized that himself.
Someone asks if the cast has drinking parties together or not. She says they gather in her rec room and make takoyaki. They always prepare a sleepy-time blanket for Yamaguchi.
Someone snottily tells her she can just go along doing Luffy's voice. She says the reader can do it if they want. She'll do Zoro.
Someone asks if when she gets sales calls if she ever uses Luffy's voice or something. She says usually when she just speaks NORMALLY they say, "Could you put your mother on the phone?"
Someone Negative Hollows her, she replies in turn…
Someone asks if she really eats something during the scenes where Luffy is eating and talking. She says she strives for reality so they actually prepare what Luffy is eating for her and she eats it while doing lines.
Someone asks if she picks her nose during scenes when Luffy picks his nose and talks. She reconfirms, she's an actress that strives for reality.
Someone asks if her lines where Luffy screams physically exhaust her. She says that in ten years of doing the animation her height has shrunk from 175cm to 147.5cm.
Someone asks for her to become their mom. She says ok but she'll turn into a dad with a crewcut from time to time.
End.
I'm kinda disappointed with the SBS - and what's wrong with the last name question? Four of the nine Straw Hats lack family names - even if Oda's response is "they don't have any" I'd be satisfied with that.
Part of me thinks that maybe some of the questions he's getting might be hitting too close to major spoilers for him - a la "what is One Piece" as an extreme example. But something we might think is an innocent question could turn out to be something more important. Like the whole "what does the D. in Luffy's name stand for?" That was a super early SBS question (volume 8) and Oda was straight up about saying he couldn't answer it. Now we know the D is important and had he answered that earlier it would have taken away some of the mystery of it.
As far as Greg's questions go. . . I have no idea. As far as why he chooses the stupid question. . . I also have no idea.
Hahaha, I enjoyed Tanaka's SBS.
"Sleepy time blanket for Yamaguchi." That is adorable.
yeah thanks Greg, Tanaka's was kind of funny. I wonder if Oda or someone else helped with her answers or if she really came up with it all on her own…
Haha Tanaka's was cute.
I thought the bit about his art and assistants was cool, and I thought the rookies' origins were neat too. I don't expect much out of the SBS anymore, so I'm content with what we got.
I mean, you have over 50 volumes of comments from the creator. I'm sure that a lot of the questions he gets pertain to major spoilers, though it's tiring getting the same fart jokes over and over.
it's tiring getting the same fart jokes over and over.
Exactly. It's nice when he puts them in unexpectedly and randomly but now it's become, "HAHA! YOU SAID 'PENIS'!!!!!", corner.

I think I'm in love.
Tanaka's section was good, rather reminiscent of the old SBS, actually. It was mostly serious, interesting stuff, with a bit of random/stupid stuff that was still funny. It kind of makes me miss Skypiea/Water 7 era SBS's. The regular SBS… was mostly a bust. The bit about the assistants and the Super Novae was great, but the rest was not only not good, but so bad... I don't get it, Oda manages to do so well when writing the manga, and he used to pick questions that made a decent SBS. What happened? It can't be that all he gets at this point is crap and spoilers, can it? There must be plenty of about-the-universe/general knowledge questions that people actually ask, right...?
@Al!naJames:
Wooohooo! =D Means I`ll only have to burn the super-cover XD
Hehehehehe. Good one.
But the Pandaman-Cover IS nice o_o
What a lovely cover…
I love the cover, beautiful. <3

Thank you Dixxy Mouri. Summed up my points perfectly. And at any rate at least compared to the regular questions in the SBS it's a freakin' goldmine.
Well it's official: Kubo's side notes between chapters this time was more revealing than the SBS…though I like the confirmation of Capone Bege's inspiration. That's one no one picked up on.
