Someone asks if he's an Esper. Oda doesn't know. So interesting.

Someone asks what the thing using Soru in his kitchen is. Oda says it's a cockroach. Almost a half page is wasted on this.
Someone asks IF CHARLOS WAS ABLE TO PICK HIS NOSE BECAUSE THE BUBBLE WAS THE SAME AS THE BONCHARI BUBBLE.

Someone asks why Nami kicked Brook on page 95 of volume 51. Oda said it was because he asked about her panties again. Wow, didn't see that coming.

Someone asks if SBS actually stands for Shimoneta Boshuu Shimasu, (Looking for Dirty Talk). The reader goes on to admire Franky confusing the word 'hentai' (change formation) for perv during the Duval battle. Half a page is wasted on this. The other half is wasted on that fucking retarded "Let me join Shichibukai" dumbfuck.

The wild and crazy antics continue with a similar style used by a fan to introduce a retarded-looking Jinbei.A fan asks if his shadow was stolen. Oda asks Moria and finds out it belongs to the zombie with the My Life t-shirt.

Someone asks if Oda uses assistants or not since his art style is so consistant. Oda replies that he draws all moving things in the comic. Any mangaka that leaves moving things to assistants comes away looking somewhat 'different'. He specifies: crowd scenes, animals, smoke, clouds and the sea.

A fan lists all the pirate name origins of the Rookies. Oda agrees with all but the source of Capone who he says is from Al Capone and William le Sauvage. Killer he just made up.Then finally we get the first VA SBS.
First is Tanaka. Next volume will have Zoro and Nami.
I'll get to doing these in a bit.
But yeah. The SBS is dead.
I will say though. The cover, is far better than any of you ever imagined.

Nope. Oda only selects dipshit questions. It's entirely his fault. I've sent countless decent questions that aren't detailed but are more about the creation process or his inspirations.

Honestly, I say we shouldn't expect much. OP is a silly series with lots of awesome and epic stuff. So thus, we should expect the same for the SBS, maybe a little more of the silly.

I can't be entirely mad. There might be a good reason he only answers goofy questions. Though, it definitely gets annoying.

Yeah, that sounds pretty abysmal. I'm all for being laid back, but it would be nice to have a balance between the goofball stuff and the informative stuff.
The cover does look a bit better up close, but I still think he could've down so much more with it. But again, Epic Fail for not ending with 513. Volume 18 has just over 220 pages, so it's not like they didn't have any more room.
Oh well, guess we'll be moving on to Volume 53 soon.

why the fuck would Oda put a spoiler char on the cover. If someone were to buy that volume with Kizaru on the cover before they ever got that far in the manga, and that someone only reads by the volume and doesn't read weekly jump they wouldnt know about him.

Tell that to Volume 14 (Mr. 3), 16 (Hiriluk, Chopper), 18 (Ace), 33 (Foxy), 45 (Garp, Coby, Helmeppo), etc.
He's put plenty of ''spoiler'' characters on the cover of the volume they're introduced in.
Considering all the hell that broke loose this volume, many of us expected a lot more than this.

Okay, so the VA interview. It's actually the second-most interesting piece of info from the SBS section. Even though I'm nothing less than furious over the continued violent decline of quality in the SBS, his answer about what he draws and why was very interesting. I wonder if he realized that himself.
Someone asks if the cast has drinking parties together or not. She says they gather in her rec room and make takoyaki. They always prepare a sleepy-time blanket for Yamaguchi.
Someone snottily tells her she can just go along doing Luffy's voice. She says the reader can do it if they want. She'll do Zoro.
Someone asks if when she gets sales calls if she ever uses Luffy's voice or something. She says usually when she just speaks NORMALLY they say, "Could you put your mother on the phone?"
Someone Negative Hollows her, she replies in turn…

I'm kinda disappointed with the SBS - and what's wrong with the last name question? Four of the nine Straw Hats lack family names - even if Oda's response is "they don't have any" I'd be satisfied with that.
Part of me thinks that maybe some of the questions he's getting might be hitting too close to major spoilers for him - a la "what is One Piece" as an extreme example. But something we might think is an innocent question could turn out to be something more important. Like the whole "what does the D. in Luffy's name stand for?" That was a super early SBS question (volume 8) and Oda was straight up about saying he couldn't answer it. Now we know the D is important and had he answered that earlier it would have taken away some of the mystery of it.
As far as Greg's questions go. . . I have no idea. As far as why he chooses the stupid question. . . I also have no idea.

Haha Tanaka's was cute.
I thought the bit about his art and assistants was cool, and I thought the rookies' origins were neat too. I don't expect much out of the SBS anymore, so I'm content with what we got.
I mean, you have over 50 volumes of comments from the creator. I'm sure that a lot of the questions he gets pertain to major spoilers, though it's tiring getting the same fart jokes over and over.

Tanaka's section was good, rather reminiscent of the old SBS, actually. It was mostly serious, interesting stuff, with a bit of random/stupid stuff that was still funny. It kind of makes me miss Skypiea/Water 7 era SBS's. The regular SBS… was mostly a bust. The bit about the assistants and the Super Novae was great, but the rest was not only not good, but so bad... I don't get it, Oda manages to do so well when writing the manga, and he used to pick questions that made a decent SBS. What happened? It can't be that all he gets at this point is crap and spoilers, can it? There must be plenty of about-the-universe/general knowledge questions that people actually ask, right...?
