jesus, looks like Kamala didn't win any swing state.

It's hard what to feel right now. I was someone that was legit panicking a nfter Biden's bad debate, we got Harris and that period of them just calling Repubs "weird" and things seemed a bit on a brighter side, like ok, maybe we can do this....

...but all of the polls leading up to tonight just felt shockingly too close, people were STILL supporting him that much after 8+ years of this? It felt like enough people were getting sick of him, Harris picking up endorsements left and right.....but no. I didn't even want to get hopeful but damn it, I was. And it makes it hurt all the more.

Trump winning + Senate majority? + 6-3 SC. This was the chance to MAYBE start unfucking the country but to have to wait ANOTHER four years to (read: attempt to) do this is....apocalyptic. And I live in a pretty blue state, and I'm STILL terrified.

America is screwed.

maybe i should just go to bed, refreshing the numbers every 10 minutes is not good for my health....

I think it's....interesting? to put this saga immediately after Buu and before all the Super stuff, but then you had Kibito and Shin defused (+sticking with the previous explanation about the earrings) earlier, so....is this supposed a completely different continuity? Obviously there's no Beerus/Whis because then things would just be good easy but it's just a small thing I was wondering.

Recent DB stuff has been leading into the Demon Realm which is cool, because in the actual original story it's barely a footnote in the final arc, so always cool. They even weaved the thread between "Piccolo('s kind) is demon" and "Namekians are aliens".

I know this is silly adventure stuff but there is a level of psychological horror to have Goku and friends deage into children without even knowing. Like at least in GT Goku was like, in front of Pilaf when he was using the balls, this is some unseen element morphing them lol.

The anime has been super close to the manga for YEARS so I am more than happy they are pausing.

Dunno if anyone is keeping up, but it seems Rebirth of Souls is slated for an early 2025 release, and they've been announcing characters pretty consistently weekly. It'll cover to the end of the Arrancar/Aizen stuff
so far we have Ichigo, Uryu, Chad, Rukia, Byakuya, Yoruichi, Urahara, Matsumoto, Hitsugaya, Gin, Tousen, Kenpachi, Bankai Ichigo, and Ulquiorra.

IIRC The only times the main SH VAs were subbed out was when Okamura (Nami) and Otani (Chopper) were on maternity leave and it only lasted a few episodes here and there, and comparatively early into the anime's run. To potentially lose Yao in the last stretch of the series would be heartbreaking.

@pariston_hill You know, that's a good way to put it. I've heard her in other roles, she has range (ex. Erza from Fairy Tail) but the high-pitched fun shonen mc voice she used has always been reserved for Luffy in my head.

If they went to the trouble of redubbing the OG Dragon Ball series I think my brain would get some psychic damage...

The weird thing is, I'm fine with Colleen voicing Gohan in Kai (since he's not AS predominant as adult Goku), it's just when I hear her voice used for kid Goku that it completely throws me off, it's too close to Luffy (voice AND being the main protagonist). Yes I know it makes no sense.

Interestingly enough Colleen also voiced #18 in the Kai dub but for everything else after (games, movies, Super), they got back her previous voice actress.

Yeah she doesn't appear as often so it's not as noticable but Misa Watanabe (Vivi) is now 60.....not as old as Dragon's or Shanks's VA but still.

Interesting that Oda puts "Land of Mystery" not "Land of Giants", that and the Luffy gear "error" makes me believe the hallucination theory...

Also very telling that when pressed multiple times about Jan 6, he still just dodges the question, saying it was Nancy Pelosi's fault(?)

Okay Katey Segall as Kureha is a treat, they're really bringing in the starpower for this season.

Oda drawing the SHs in the style of their actors is really great.

Bit surprised Alabasta is /not/ part of this season, which is interesting, but it also means that we're not gonna be cutting around Loguetown or Little Garden or something just to fit it within a 8 episode season....granted if they had more episodes i think it could work, so I'd rather the option that gives Alabasta more time.

could you elaborate on this? In the manga Luffy is shocked that Nami stole the ship but is still adamant she will be his navigator, and when they meet again at Cocoyashi he doesn't make any move to leave without her.

The more I'm mulling it over, the more I'm not loving the casting choice. It could've been a surprise in a "wow Doom is masked who's doing that voice" kinda way but you don't throw millions of dollars at an actor to be cute about that kind of thing, it's a PR move through and through

I can't even view it in a "oh it's like a variant Tony" way because Dr. Doom /=/ evil Iron Man.
