Okay, what is the song that plays during the teaser trailer?
No one knows I suppose? Hm, its understandable.

When do you suppose a full-length trailer with scenes from the actual movie will be out?
Because I really would like to see how they are animated.
I can't wait to see this movie! The way the site has redone the X-mark scene,I hope the whole movie is like that, the way it is drawn reminds me of how movie 6 drew it's animation. But yeah,I hope this is a good movie.
@Private:
Oh… In this movie, I hope they leave out those 10 freaking episodes in the desert. Oh, and that ridiculously stupid part where the elite soldiers drank the "Forbiddan Water" and lost.
That shit did nothing to the plot. It just stalled the fans. What the hell is Forbiddan Water anyway? They threw in this random subplot that lasted for 5 minutes and never brought it up again…?
Half of the Arabasta Arc was bullshit, but nothing can beat that climax. Best climax in this entire series, without a doubt.
If you are refering to the Duck Clan Guards, that was in the manga too
i wanna see it now! when it gets to theaters in japan, how long before a raw, do y'think? doesn't it have to come to dvd as well, tho? so not til june-ish, huh?
Shueisha + VIZ Media only care about the economic satisfaction while, the latter hides behind a veneer of gaining "corporate satisfaction" via a promotion of Japanese culture.
And behind them are working people.
But the heart of the matter is, it's Oda's work.
I mean, unless they take OBSCENE liberties with the story, this is the one film that actually stands the greatest chance of not sucking because it's based directly on a story that he himself created.
So hurray for them making money if it means more stuff like this.
'Course it could be a pile of horsecrap but we'll see how far they take it.
It's an even numbered movie, I have very high hopes for this film. I hope it works out, thanks a lot for bringing it to our attention, this could quite possibly surpass movies 2 and 4 as the greatest movie if they mix improvements in animation with a slightly better story than Alabasta..
I don't think they should follow suit for every major arc though, personally I loved the animation in Skypeia for example, but this could be fitting for an arc like the one coming up for the SH, if the mermen arc is anything like the Alabasta arc.
let them make a movie about gol D Rogers journee and namaka … period
and they have to hire oda for it..
and... i would be satisfied with 3 months no one piece...
all for the life of gol d roger and his namaka :p
You are KIDDING. An Arabasta based movie? Dude I was hoping for a Water 7 based one Water 7 OWNED! Dude…..my insides just tore apart, thinking the next movie was gonna be on my fav arc.
@Hii-chan:

I'm asking for the same. And I'd would hope it would impress me. And I really hope that this trailer speaks the TRUTH, as in no displaying of scenes that AREN'T EVEN IN THE MOVIE coughmoviesevencough Don't get me wrong Movie 7 was awesome but the fake trailer scenes!? Not cool.
rethinks this
Dude, if Mr. Prince is in there and is somehow "upgraded" I would trash all I said above and watch the thing! Same with the other StrawHats!
What I don't want is the an entire movie remake on the same shit that went on in the original season, such as the rebel war and Vivi's past. >>;;
thinks of an ultamitely powered Baroque works in a epic battle with the StrawHats
ZOMFG NEVERMIND! This could be good!
crosses fingers for Water 7 movie in 2008
I am a still a bit skeptical about this. The Arabasta arc is one of the longest in the series (about 40 episodes, anime-wise). That seems like a bit much to fit into a 90-minute movie. My worry is that some of the best parts will be cut.
I´m looking forward to that movie. The Alabasta arc is one of my favorites, and I wanna see that awesome fight between Zoro and Mr.1 again! And if they should cut it extremely…well...I´m glad as long the fighting scenes are there!
it's an intresting idea, and it makes me think what will be the next movie. skypea? w7 ('till enies lobby)?
Now now, just cause this one is gonna be a remake of an arc doesn't mean Toei isn't gonna go back to the normal made up movies next time.
I think my heart just stopped
oh dear, I think it did.
Sweet! Maybe Vivi and Kohza will do something besides trip and fall or get shot.
Yeah, like die, or get run over by Horses and camels
I kept waiting for her to get run over during that part.
Allright maybe they might do something cool, and I'll stop being mean to the princesss and her Rebelling lover.

Isn't character flaming against the rules?
Anyway, Vivi DID do something in Arabasta - like… oh I don't know, saving the Straw Hats from drowning to death?! =_=; She's pretty weak, yes, but that's part of her character. Do you hate Usopp for being weak, too? And I don't think you could do any better to stop the citizens of a whole kingdom from fighting each other when the person who they believe to be their hero is planning to bomb the place up. She tried so hard, leave her be!
Kohza can die for all I care.
And he's not her lover, Nami is. OBVIOUSLY.
Isn't character flaming against the rules?
Kohza can die for all I care.
Slightly hypocritical, much? Someone out there might like Kohza as much as you like Vivi, you know. ;)

…No, nobody really cares for Kohza since his character is flat and is of no importance. 8D
I can think of a few people who'd beg to differ with you, and quite a few more who could apply that same logic to Vivi. Personally, I like both of them, and the bashing of either really doesn't phase me much anymore, I just found that rather amusing. ;)

Um. No. You can't say that Vivi is not important to the plot. Without Vivi, we wouldn't have one of the biggest and most important arcs of the series. Also, Vivi is one of the most, if not the most developed character in the series [that's because that she only gets to stay for a relatively short time, but still].
And I get the feeling that when they said that bashing of characters is forbidden they meant characters that actually matter. There's a difference - it's like comparing someone who said "Nami is a slutty bitch who only thinks of money and she should totally die and burn in hell" to someone who said "I hate Chu, he's so annoying, I hope Usopp hammers him to death". >_>
Allright, I'm sorry for saying mean things about Vivi, but it really did look like it. A whole army of people on camels and horses came running at her, and she was unscathed. IT didn't make any sense to me.
Though, the movie means a possibly better drawn Crocodile. Shiny.
Anyone seen this yet? If so… Well, my bad.
But yeah, they're just stills, but I guess those new pics of Luffy, Vivi and Crocodile is how the movie will look.
Hey thanks!
now I really cant wait!
OMG! Crocodile looked bloody awesome! If the animation is gonna be like that for every flippin frame, and they keep the great plot of Alabasta, this movie may beat films like Castle of Cagliostro and Princess Mononoke.
Well, I wouldn't jump the gun just yet… The designs themselves may look pretty, but we've yet to see how they're animated. Let's hope that's good as well.
There would be a god if they can combine the great fluidness of movie 6s animation with the detail of this one.
Stop talking about movie 6's fluidity like it's some kind of perfection incarnate, personally I prefered the way the fighting scenes were animated in both movies 2 and 4, not to say movie 6's animation was bad but it lacked consistency.
Sorry, but I'll personally take above average consistency over bi-polar fluidity any day.
Actually, I wish movies were animated more like movie 6. Even friends I have who don't like One Piece, want to watch movie 6 because of the animation.
Skypiea needs to be redone. I know two people who stopped watching the show because of long long Skypiea.
Skypiea was very boring, and the thing was, I was watching the HK subs so it was brutal. I heart this series too much to give up on.
oh great X3 a new movie !! <3
erm o.o; is it only me, or trailer doesn't have anything new?..I mean we've already seen all those scenes ;;;;
Yeah, I was a few second close from quitting during Skypiea but I didn't, so I made a good choice this time.
Anyways, I'll watch anything Croc (needs his own mini-series) is in. That guy made me like OP, so I know I'll love this movie. It's gonna be great to see this with slick animation and artwork.
Sweet seeing Kohza turned to Swiss Cheese in crystal clear animation, although his pose with the flag was quite badass
Um. No. You can't say that Vivi is not important to the plot. Without Vivi, we wouldn't have one of the biggest and most important arcs of the series.
Okay, I really wasn't looking to get into a debate about character importance, but saying Vivi is one of the most important charcaters in the series because she was crucial to one story arc isn't exactly accurate. Yes, Alabasta is a great story, but to be fair, without Kohza, it wouldn't have been much of a story, either, since his rebellion was the driving force of Crocodile's plot, Baroque Works was there to set that in motion, but the entire plot hinged on the actual citizens rebelling and Kohza was absolutely central to that.
And I get the feeling that when they said that bashing of characters is forbidden they meant characters that actually matter.
Define "they". Also, while you're at it, define "characters who actually matter". Also, your example isn't very accurate, either, since "annoying" and "slutty bitch who only thinks of money and she should totally die and burn in hell" aren't really comparable. One is clearly a bash and the other is a statement of opinion. If someone used the second example for Chuu or any of the secondary characters, yes, that would also constitute bashing.
Determining the level of abuse one can heap onto a character based on their level of importance doesn't really work, since "importance" is subjective when you get outside the main cast anyway. In short, just because you don't like a character (and no one's saying you have to), doesn't mean you can bash them in one breath and then whine about people bashing your favorite character with the next.
Now, back on-topic, that little preview that Roman God posted is nice, I guess, but I can't say I really care for the art style aesthetically. I may change my mind later when I see them moving, but that style of cel shading bothers me and I can't really pinpoint why. It bugged me in movie 7, too, but then I didn't care for the design style for that one overall anyway. But still, I'm very curious to see how this winds up turning out. ^^
Anyone seen this yet? If so… Well, my bad.
But yeah, they're just stills, but I guess those new pics of Luffy, Vivi and Crocodile is how the movie will look.
Those stills are awesome, but the animations in the background looks like recap. Please God, don't let this movie be a recap. ;;
I'm gonna guess and say half recap and half new storyline. But I'm probably wrong.
I'm gonna not be an idiot and say that they are going to use newootage. Honestly, from the first trailers… nothing from them is ever used.
Prediction. Backstory of Arabasta. Whole Dance Powder thing. Vivi decides to infiltrate BW. Maybe see her finding out who Mr. 0 is. She runs into the Straw-Hats.
Opening credits. Opening theme plays, maybe the one in the trailer, with credits. Skims through Whiskey Peak, Little Garden and Drum Island.
Then we see them arrive at Arabasta as the opening credits end and goes into the movie.
Ending credits - Everyone celebrating
Well... I just stated how I would want it...
My prediction is set until we see a trailer that isn't teaser and material that will be used or altered.
Just saw the TV Spot…
If the movie is gonna look as good as the stills, then I'm gonna crap myself with excitement!
Viewing the 53 second trailer. Kinda short for a trailer.
Viewing the 53 second trailer. Kinda short for a trailer.
Well, it's more of a teaser, that's why.
I'm liking this because for everyone who has got into One Piece during the Water 7 arc can watch this film to get the "Jist" of it. Like the Dragonball movies helped me understand more of the story before I saw the series.
But the movie aniamtion looks different for nearly every movie, movie 6' animation was the best I felt,
They change the animation every year (I think). Like last year's Movie 7 was the "Big Boobs" artistic style.
Well, it's more of a teaser, that's why.
You're right it did tease me, it only showed a couple scenes and Vivi's voice. I liked the music to it though. Can't wait til the actual trailer, what Crocodile plans to do, and if they wear any cool outfits.
What's with me and outfits? I dunno, I just like what they wear sometimes.
But the movie aniamtion looks different for nearly every movie, movie 6' animation was the best I felt,
Yes! Movie 6 was by far the best movie I've ever seen. It wasn't the only animation, but also the plot, villain, and the action taking place that WOWed me. Plus everyone has cool outfits.
Movie 7 was okay too, but I hated how the trailer scenes weren't even in it, and Nami's jiggly boobs made me wanna stab her. I never understood why Toei would do that pr0nish crap.
Here's the movie poster. It's from Jump Festa, and Crossbones from KF's forums took the pic.
Why does this poster give me the feeling that the Arabasta storyline will be somewhat repeated? I mean, I thought Robin would be with the crew, not being Miss All Sunday again…
I like how Luffy gives the Superman impression of carrying a "danzel in distress". I want to kill Vivi sometimes, she makes the whole thing look like a soap opera.

Umm… The movie is a remake of the Alabasta arc...

Holy crap yeah. Usopp was the shit in that movie, especially in terms of how he looked. Sanji looked awesome too.
The poster looks pretty nice. Like someone else said, if the actual movie looks as good as the stills, we have a lot to look forward to.
Why isn't Zoro bloody? He should be bloody =O
Also, Luffy looks wierd without Pell carrying him. It looks like a bunch was taken from movie footage, cropped out, and put together.
