Also gonna need to see Usopp either to repair his relationship with Luffy or go his own way and goto Elbaf. And then we're in store for a Koby/Helmeppo, with a badass looking, scarred up Usopp (which every Usopp fan would love!). I think if we get Franky, we could use abreak from Usopp anyways. Need to get used to one comic relief, before we get into another one.

I have to say, as much as I love Usopp, that having him follow the Giants to Elbaf and actually getting stronger would be…. interesting. Especially as I think it's likely Elbaf is in the second half of the GL (this is just speculation, seeing as how strong the Giants are) it would mean that we would likely not see Usopp for a good long while to come.

Although I think it's far more likely Usopp and Luffy will make up, the fact that, in-the-end, Usopp was unable to face him and still kept the mask of "Sogeking" may be an indication of a departure. Who knows... Oda does!

Secondly, where has it been conclusively stated that Marshall D. Teach is a relative (or a member of the "family") of Luffy/Ace/Dragon/Garp? I'm thinking the next big "shocker" in one Piece may be when it's revealed that not everyone with a D. in their name is related to the others. There's a difference between speculating that all the Ds are related and actually trying to use it as fact when it hasn't been officially confirmed. That, however, is simply my personal opinion, and everyone is free to disagree with me as much as they like.

I believe the giant Saul have said that everyone in his family has a D. in their name.
In the family ~> Has a D.
But has a D. ~> not neccesarily be in the family.
As for myself, I do think that all the "D."s have something to do with each other

theres always the possibility that theres clans of the D, like Blackbeard and Saul belong to one (theyre both giants, and blackbeard being smaller, means he could be half human) and the other Ds are among the Human clan. Now… is it possible we'll have fishman and whatever other race out there, have D Clans?

what the hell? wasn't Black beard, like, only 2-3 feet taller than Luffy? I don't think that's enough height difference to mark him as a half-giant.

I think the manga made all of the Blackbeard pirates out to be giants.. or at least bigger then normal. The anime made them more "normal"

Minor correction. Saul said that everyone in his family has the D. in his/her name. That however doesn´t mean that every D. is part of his family.

If that should be to complicated then perhaps this should explain it. If my last name would be Smith, then apperantly everybody in my family would have the last name Smith too. However not everybody in this world who is named Smith would be a relative of mine now would he?

Blackbeard and everyone in his crew, even Doc Q, were huge! However, I doubt they're giants or even half-giants; it's possible since they came from Grand Line's second half, but we do not know where Ebalf is or if it's anywhere close to Whitebeard's territory.

Personally, I think the only giant hybrid in the next part of the series will be Whitebeard, who I believe ate the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Kyojin, which turns him into a Giant.

Didn´t the giant matter actually long got cleared up eversince Karsee and Oimo appeared. I mean until then everybody thought that the Mighty Destroyers would be giants. And then when they stood next to real giants you could see how small they were actually.

But what´s even more important then that Oda made it clear himself that those Mighty Destroyers are just regular humans by giving Oimo the line: "The blood that runs in our veins is far different than that of any overgrown, tiny humans!!" Stephens Script on Chapter 378

And what´s even more interesting is that the Mighty Destroyers are much larger then any of the Blackbeard crew so if they aren´t even half giants half humans then I doubt that it is the case for any of Teach´s men.

Uh… no it didn't. In Episode 145 the Blackbeard pirates are indeed Huge.

Thank you! That is exactly the point I was making. And to address Afro D. Luffy, No, I was not being "uppity" at all. I was merely expressing my surprise that many people believing that all Ds are related as fact was/is really surprising to me, when no such thing has been stated as truth anywhere.

It would be like me saying, "Well I'm wondering where Nami got her need for money since her father Dragon has no such desire." Do you see the problem with that sentence, Afro D. Luffy? There is no evidence that Nami is Dragon's daughter anywhere, but using speculation as fact tends to get a little irritating after a while. See what I'm saying? (Incidentally, no I don't think Nami is Dragon's daughter; that would be pretty lame, in my opinion).

Wow…all of them really are "giants"...weird. Even Doc and Van Anger. They are all the same height.

Yeah, Chopper better fight Doc Q, Nami would look a little odd. And yeah, I see some giant traits there. They are ate least as tall as the destroyers, which is suspicious.

I never noticed that they were that big, at least twice as tall as an average guy, and Teach and Burgess are probably three times as wide. They're suspicously big, but we've had big characters who weren't half giants or anything before (at least it wasn't stated that they were), Yama, the Mighty Destroyers, Aokiji's insanely tall also.

Eh, Kumadori was pretty big, but Chopper fought him good. And his Monster Point dwarfed the poor guy… I wonder if that'd be the case with Doc Q too?

To add to the whole Smith thing… That has a origins...

Warning: Non- One Piece related trivia.

A long, long time ago, surnames were not set in stone. If you were the local Blacksmith and your name was John you were known as 'John the Smith'. At some point in time, it was decided everyone should have a surname, so the scribes went around every village and recorded names. Now a lot of villages had a smith in them… So there ended up being a lot of Smiths.

Incidently, the name 'Fitz' means 'Son of'. This is a simulair naiming system. In the old days when this happened, people said my name is 'John Fitz Patrick' meaning 'John, son of Patrick'. They recorded the name as 'John FitzPatrick' thus 'Fitzpatrick' became the surname.

I know a lot of family history... :ermm:
