Maybe Enel suffocated and died because the air got too thin for him to breathe, so the Maxim is still floating towards the moon with his corpse. That would be so Un-Oda-Like. It would be funny though. I hope he does something neat with Enel.
Chapter 428 "Let's Return" Discussion
-
-
Yay !
Sanji tied the anchor of the giant marine ship all together ,,so that they cant continue to get after merry….there r all stuck together at the first tower....hehe...this week spoiler.
-
that would be impossible….even for Sanji.....
-
Sanji probably found Spandam, beat the crap out of spandam, then made him show the gate control mechanism. Gate gets shut as the Mugiwara get the hell outta dodge, the whirpools appear, the BC ships sink so they can't persue.
-
I highly doubt that's the case….. because Spandam is already been beaten to a pulp....anymore beating won't get anything out of him....
-
next chapter will close most of this arc up
-
hopefully so…... it's been a long ride..... time to move on....
-
@Anal:
48 hours until a new spoiler thread. Then another 15 hours afterwards until another spoiler thread gets closed from all the bitching that's bound to ensue over incomplete information. That's my guess anyway. Any other guesses? :ninja:
People won't understand the little snippet of japanese text or the babbelfish translation, thus leading to atleast 10+ pages of nonsense, so pretty much the same as yours. As for the chapter itself, after bringing back Merry, I really can't predict much of this manga anymore. However, if Toei knew about this head of time, I guess that there might be a chase of some kind like the newest opening. Although, I guess Merry's rebirth will shock Usopp and Franky the most, considering both were present when it got 'destroyed'.
-
429 SPOILER:
Jay and Silent Bob will beat up the Buster Call, then Jay will say that the Going Merry looks like a big bong, and then Aokiji will be all like, "Snootch to the fuckin' noonch." -
No, It's A LION will send Ritchie to eat up the buster call…... lol....
-
No, It's A LION will send Ritchie to eat up the buster call…... lol....
HAHAHAHA… this one got my stomach hurting
-
I just can't wait to see what "uncool" thing that Sanji did….... I hope it's a huge explosion....to put an end to all the tension........
-
Here's hoping the Sanji sabotage is reasonable, we already saw Conehead missing the opportunity to kill the FF and Giants and a Captain getting ko'd by Kokoro (yes, Kokoro), the Marines not figuring out someone's destroying their ships from the inside would really be the final proof of their utter incompetence.

Wouldn't they be incompetent already for destorying their own base, or for letting a pirate crew get so far into that base?
The Enies Lobby marines have already underestimated the SHs big time, and paid for it.
Also…what's so unrealistic about those things you mentioned? The captains aren't some invincible character and they never were, and the FF thing was a perfectly good mistake...since that VA didn't even bother to check the bottomless pit.
Now the Ghost ship, that's kind of BS.
-
What are our nicknames for the VA's again? Conehead, Scarface, and Helmet I have; what about the smiling cigar guy and the Lulu look-alike?
-
The last one is Mohawk; I don't think the fat cigar smoking one ever had an official nickname.
Wouldn't they be incompetent already for destorying their own base, or for letting a pirate crew get so far into that base?
Given the fact they've been ordered to destroy it, I'd say it's actually the contrary of incompetence. Also the EL Marines were just the common grunts, against supernaturally powerful opponents in the Strawhats, you can't reproach them to be no match. They did take care of the Giants and FF though.
Also…what's so unrealistic about those things you mentioned? The captains aren't some invincible gods or anything, and the FF things was a perfectly good mistake...since that VA didn't even bother to check the bottomless pit.
Before the Bridge of Hesitation fiasco the HQ Captains weren't supposed to be pathetic to the point of getting their asses kicked by a geriatric secondary character.
There's no such thing as a "perfectly good mistake". A true professional would have checked if they were really dead instead of assuming so.
-
I just can't wait to see what "uncool" thing that Sanji did….... I hope it's a huge explosion....to put an end to all the tension........
I thought the "uncool" thing Sanji was referring to was the rescue of the old, fat, ugly, half-naked mermaid-woman?
-
There's no such thing as a "perfectly good mistake". A true professional would have checked if they were really dead instead of assuming so.
To be honest, I agree, they should have checked. However, they my have opted not to, since in they eyes I imagine whether those guys live or die is of little importance–the SHs are the real issue right now. Under the circumstances, sending a pack of marines to search a seemingly bottomless canyon would be unfeasable for the sake of time.
But, "supposed?" The captains weren't supposed to be anything but a distraction for the SHs while Luffy fought Lucci. They got one sentence to establish their strength "hahaha we're captians, like that Smoker guy except not established or actually good characters." Really, considering the SHs strength, even after fighting the CP9 it's not hard to believe that they can own a bunch of low level ( at least...compared to them) flunkies.
We're forgeting, these guys were confronted by 10,000 marines and said "It'll take us 'til morning to beat all of them" and not "or crap we're in trouble." Well, Chopper said that...
Anyway, while Enies Lobby is "a strong marine base" and the CP9 was the "ulitmate assassin force" and the Buster Call is "the ultimate tool of destruction" it's been obvious for the start that they'll overcome all of it--what's good about these stories is finding the "how." It almost sounds like people want the Buster Call to win.
Yet, it seems like people are hyping up every weapon that the WG has lately, thinking that if the SHs destroy everything they'll suddenly be unstoppable monsters--which they will be until the next arc. Because ironically (or not), there are still people in the world far stronger then them, so the losses of the WG aren't a big deal as far as the story is concerned...until they get a coverstory. Like always, we'll just move on to the next challenge.
Hell, I could easily imagine that, if the Buster Call were to ever appear in another arc, that it could serve as some high level jobber, maybe for Whitebeard or one of the stronger shichibukai or something. Of course, the same could be said for all the past villians, but the Buster Call is the only one who's mass producible.
-
Anyone actually wants the SHs to only be on the Going Merry all the way to King of the Pirates and then some?
-
I'm sure Merry will remain in some form or fashion as they reach the end of the Grand Line. Do I want it to remain? Doesn't really matter to me.

no way…..I want them to ditch it was soon as they say their last goodbyes....
-
I say, we should give the bearded guy a nickname. How about, "Lincoln"?

nice….. Lincoln it is then..... so all the VA's have nicks now...... ;)

Haha, Fidel's perfect! Nice find.

It's that time of the week huh? ^_^;

Fidel is more than perfect. Could it be that Oda based this character in Fidel?? It wouldn't be the first time.
Kinai.
-
it's that time of the week for another round of misinterpretation, speculation and nagging….. yup....
-
A yes, it;s almost that time of the mont…week for all us Arlong Park goers. Good times.
And you know, all this Merry controversy has made we think of something. Remember the cliche complaints that pirates don't act like pirates in One Piece? Well, here we have a crew and loves their ship and a ghost ship--two items from pirate lore/legend--and everyone's complaining about it. Some people are never happy.:getlost:
-
yeah…. some people just will never be happy just because some little thing they can't accept....

There are pirates who do act like pirates in One Piece; no, I see tons of more "piracy" in One Piece:
1. Shanks and his crew are seen in the bar drinking rum, they even pick a fight with the bandits to save Luffy. Roux shot someone.
2. Alvida hold Coby hostage.
3. Buggy pillage and took over Orange Town.
4. In Buggy's flashback, we see pirates fighting each other on sea, we even see Buggy stole the treasure map.
5. Kuro plot to rob Kaya, the Meowban brothers boosted about how many towns they pillage and burn down.
6. Don Krieg wanted to steal the Baratie.
7. In Sanji's flashback, Zeff and his crews attacked and robbing the curise ship.
8. Arlong and his pirates attacked Cocoyashi villiage and ruled it harshly.
9. The Pig pirates in Alabasta tried to kill Crocodile and pillage Nanohana.
10. Mocktown have a lot of pirates. Bellemy gambled with Roshio and killed him. They attacked Montblanc and robbed him.
11. The Saruyama pirates are salvagers, finding treasures under the sea, that's so piracy.
12. Skypiea has some old pirate folklore: skull-shaped island and searching for gold.
13. When the SHP found the Fanged Toad Pirate ship, they prepared to attack while the FTP had trouble in being prepared to attack
14. The DBF is full of piracy: gambling while playing games to steal your crews, but Foxy and his crews loves to break the rules and Foxy loves to cheat. Say hello to Davy Jones BTW
15. Mikazukai refuseing to pay and attempt to attack the shipyard
16. The SHP crew attacking Enies Lobby, burned the flag thus declaring war on the World Government
17. Going Marry "Ghost Ship".
-
One Piece is toned down piracy, but it is about Pirates non the less. It is published in Shonen Jump so they can't get too graphic. If it was published in Ultra Jump or Young Animal it would be another story.
Never the less, like all manga fangroups…there will always be complainers.

OMG MERRY COMING BACK WAS TERRIBLE !!!!111!

More like all manga fangroups… there will always be ongoing war between fanboys and complainers (read: people with a critical mind).

QFT! We will prevail at the end!

Whoever wins this battle loses because they have probably wasted half their life complaining and being bias fanboys. I for one, would choose death thatn to be in either of those categories. God it's good to be me.

got that right ….

Because acting condecscending is much better then then being a fanboy. Right.
God this forum needs a spoiler soon.

These chapter discussion threads always look bad when next week's spoilers are about to surface, like a horse with a broken leg, maybe they should be put out of their misery sooner.
-

No. Being dead is better than being a arguing, complaining fanboy. But I mostly mean that wasting time arguing about something that is irrelevant, is probably not a good way to enjoy life (unless arguing and complaining is something that helps u sleep). Also I don't act condescending because I am condescending.
But nonetheless, a spoiler is always welcome in my book.

^^justification?
Seriously, One Piece is interesting because the Straw Hats are different from other "pirates;" they don't randomly burn villages and rape and kill. They're all about fun and adventure regardless of the rules. -

There are going to be new rules starting with the next spoiler, so I'd warn you lot to be careful. Let's just say it's not in your best interest to even read to the spoiler, let alone comment on it.
-
Always the same people on the same thread every week. You go guys! your sycophantic bickering rocks!
and so does my banal sarcasm.. hehe
-
I try to stay out of things…no one wants the scathing Buster Call of an Aldrich post aimed at their pointy, Usopp-loving head(s).
-

Really? I mean, I can understand the admins/mods being upset with the shit storm that ensued after Merry's arrival, but not being in my best interest to read the spoiler?

Dun Dun Dun
The tension!

Spoiler topics are generally more bastich-filled than the chapter discussions since the information is limited and that generally builds up negative comments. As such, even reading the spoiler is dangerous because that tempts people to complain; building up this tension will magnify it once the chapter discussion comes along.
Basically put, there will be punishments for complaining in the spoiler topic and chapter discussions. If one feels that one cannot help but complain in the spoiler topic, do not read it at all.
-
Punishment for complaining? And there goes the last illusion Arlong Park was any different than NarutoFan.
