I thought the scene where Chopper becomes a massive ball of fur in his Defense Point was the most ridiculous thing the writer's did to him which is reminiscent of that scene in Movie 4 where Robin sprouts thousands of arms.
One Piece Movie #6

Ah, OP Movie 6, the only one that really feels and looks like an epic (and interesting) adventure worthy of the big screen.
I just compare this and 8 and want to cry.
-
Heso!
I really love the sixth movie. It is really deep and has so much emotion. My top three movies are four, five, and six for different reasons. However the events in six really stay with me.
Also as to movie 8 if they wanted to do a movie set during Arabasta why did they not create a new story instead. Oh Well!

See, I was kinda more worried that he'd explode from the impact, rather than by the fact that he was a massive ball of fur. Dunno why, I kept getting the impression that his inside was hollow like an actual ball.
Still, I think that's way better than the creepy arms in movie 4 though = =;
-
I actually watched the flick for the first time on a flight back from California a few weeks ago.
I'm surprised everyone bitches how Movie 4's Gasparde is a rippoff of Crocodile, when this movie seemed to rip off the Davy Back Fight. The beginning was alright, but I found myself hooked after the cook-off.
-
The difference being that it is Movie 4's villain and climax battle (the most important parts) that are pretty much pale imitations of Luffy vs Crocodile.
Movie 6 starts off Davy Back-ish, but halfway through evolves into something else much darker and urgent. And that's what sticks with you.

I whole-heartedly agree. Maybe it's because the movie plays with our (and the SH's) expectations of what's going to happen, and deliberately turns it upside-down that makes it so compelling. I mean, you can't really tell from watching the hysterical goldfish scene that the movie's about to plunge into bloody Twilight Zone.

Fuuuuck. I saw the thread name as the latest post in the Anime section and thought K-F finally released the movie.
Got excited over nothing T_T -

Not my fault! points at Taz I got fooled too D:
-
I'm… sorry? :0
-
I hated Movie 6.
I thought the characters were extremely OOC, especially Luffy.
Then Luffy becomes overpowered in Movie 7.
-
How was Luffy out of character?
-
And how was he overpowered in Movie 7? Cause he took out a crappy mecha with Gear 2nd and destroyed a factory?
-
if you want to see another incredible movie by the same director of 6 (Mamoru Hosoda) check out "Toki wo Kakeru Shojo". It's really an awesome and touching movie.
Regarding Movie 6, it's easily the best of the bunch. It was like the "Beautiful Dreamer" of One Piece. (not too sure anyone here knows beautiful dreamer)
Who cares if the characters are OOC if the result is just so astounding?
Plus the animations totally rocked, i wish the entire series was made this way.. -

UY is so awesome, even to this day and age it easily surpasses most of the shit japan churns out daily. Do you remember how beautiful dreamer was so different in atmosphere and characters compared to the series? The same goes with one piece movie 6.
