well my problem with this chapter was that erza part. its just the oldest cliche in the story telling world.
there are a few ways it will go, and all have been done many times before
1. its Erza pretending to be fake erza
2. its fake erza that switched sides and working with real erza
3. its fake erza and real erza shows up soon and finishes fight you know with the "i thought i killed you" or "your still alive, impossible" statement by fake erza. which then also lets us see the battle finish and the true victor.though must say if number 3 still a bit dissapointed how gray and natsu still seem to get owned by erza so easily
but whatever, its like the cliche after a final attack the good guy falls down first or blood spirts out first and looks like he lost yet then villian says some final words and falls down completely defeated/dead.

Going by the scar being on her cheek (where Scarlet's was) and not her nose (where Knightwalker's was), it's probably Erza Scarlet who allegedly knocked out Natsu and Gray. The Edoras-Erza will probably show up and try to stop Natsu and Gray from reaching the cannon, before the regular Erza interferes.

I enjoyed this chapter, Gazille is as insane as Zoro and the Erza scene was fantastic.

Erza's scene was fantastic, due to the ambiguity of the scene. Regardless of whether you can "call it" based on a selection of A/B/C/D regarding what happens next chapter, the fact that she shows up and drags them through the gates is a nice way to progress the story.
This progression, ignores any DEM explanations as to how they can save their friends, and allows for this arc to end more quickly.
It's dragged on long enough, and Erza(?) showing up signals the end. -
Draged ? This arc has been going at an alarmingly fast pace , not allowing any of the possible plot points in this arc developed at all .
This arc , if written well , could have lasted anywhere up to a year .

The fights in this arc were silly and for the most part uninteresting.
The plot details about the Exceed haven't kept me interested enough to desire the next chapter to appear.
The mysterious appearance of main characters and allies that started off as enemies is a tired concept, Mashima has done to death.All in all, my personal opinion is that this arc was handled in an unsatisfactory manner. I am at a point as a reader, where I want them to get back to their own world, and continue on their regular adventures against dark guilds and holy mages.
If your personal opinion is differing, I respect that, but I do not expect your reason as to why. Just like I don't expect you to understand that my preference is for arcs like these to explore more about the monster Scarlet rode on, the parallel guilds and less about whiny kings with incapable subjects that are suddenly weaklings in the face of equal adversaries.

i've been fine with this arc. i would not have minded if it did take a long time and be more rpg like. You know like imagine the game world in hunter hunter where there were plenty of towns and adventures and before knowing we thought they wer ein a game.
would have been cool if they solved some problems in this world as they mad etheir way to tcapital city by city. or get dragged into some unique adventure or myth or something in this world. yet no, edo natsu just comes and gives them ride in less than a few pages to the capital.
i mean during thos small arcs in this huge world mashima could have used a few of the edo version for each part. like so and so is in this town so they team up with them for that. that is my only complaint. not that this arc is going to fast, the arc speed is fine and same as always, i'm just dissapointed that in this whole new world of edoras that there is only one problem/arc and that is all just going down at capital with king/cats
i don't know it just feels like if say playign tales of symphonia and you enter the other world and all you do is do one quick dungeon and you are done. just so much wasted potential as peopel said. and then also being as possibly be gone long time then could lead to a nice arc dealing with the fact that fairy tail adn whole twon dissapoeared and how the world changed due to tha tevent when they return

Did I say this arc is handled well ? No . What I said was that were it actualy written out properly it could have been verx entertaining and lasted quite a while too .
Like this , all potential this arc had at the begining was thrown down shitter .

I think the best way to word it is that this WORLD Edoras had the potential for many entertaining arcs, but we were only given one.
that is what i'm dissapointed in. his arcs are always short and quick and to the point, thus of course when going to a whole new world only having one arc will relaly be dissapointing, because it doesn't give enough time to flesh out the world
edit: guess was hoping for like an boroque works arc. you know it being the main plot but dealing with whiskey peak, little garden, drum, and finally arabasta. but nope in edoras we just get a ride straight to arabasta to fight croc

Even a single , if very long arc would be sufficient for me .
Just explore the world , it's characters and make the whole fight actualy last longer then six chapters .

Sure he rushed some bits but overall , he did a much better task then when writing FT battles I think .

Yes… this mostly legible rant is an explanation of my feelings as to why this arc is facetious, and should end as soon as possible.

Apparently Anima, described by Mystogon, is the "Magical Energy" that is present in both Worlds but Edolos used up all of theirs so they stole it from the real world and that's how the Guild was turned into a crystal…
...Yeah, I doubt it will be mentioned ever again in the Story

looking back, I'm kinda conflicted here.
in Oracian Seis, the major problem was that mashima was doing different stuff every chapter(like how Nirvana changed from a Light/Dark magic converter into a cannon), which led to it being disjointed, but it still played out the arc(in it's own, special, disjointed way). this arc however….it seems halfway, MASHIMA JUST STOPPED CARING.
it seemed like he had a long diverse story involving the Queen of Edoras, the betrayal, the Dragonslayer's role, Happy being the story focus, and Edoras Fairy Tail, but Mashima got literally bored at one point and decided"OK, I'm gonna end this now." From him Giving Mystogan magic-restoring pills(despite stating they were all gonna die earlier), to him reducing Edo Tail from an ally to a cameo(seriously....why?) and the fights-only 2 of them-Gazelle and Lucy's-seemed to be the ones he focused on. plus now, there seems to be hints that the Queen is a fraud.
see, when Mashima used the Whole" when the whole time, blahblahblah" thing the first time(Moon Drip Arc) it was used for poetic Irony, but now when he used it in Oracian Seis and will(most likely) use it here, it is just overplaying it. It's like he's starting to get bored wioth FT now....and that could be a side effect in the future arcs. So in a way, this essentially could be worse than OS, unless he does something major-and fast.

I have to realy agree with you there . Let us not forget we got no explanation how the heck a whole town got sucked into an alternate reality , aside from "It's magic , we don't have to explain it ." :ninja:
Hiro tends to forget things and then is forced to somehow conclude them even if it does not make ANY sense . Caith Shelter never existing , regardless of the fact it actualy got called to a meeting , and somehow nominated one of it's members into this aliance and the fact that the "illusions" were scared for their lives when no one else was around and the simple fact the revelation did not in any way add up to anything , and that it was only a vehicle to get Wendy into Fairy Tail was extremely obnoxious because how over the top and ridiculous it was . Or how about the Staff ? It shows up without explanation , does stuff and is killed by Zero .
He also apears to be bored with fights . Which is weird considering it's a fighting shounen but what you gonna do ?
Oh and remember those "oposing factions" that stand in the way of Edoras ruling over their whole world that Old Guy mentioned ? Hiro simply forget he mentioned they exist .
I especialy hate how now two of the royal guards seem to have been defeated off screen .

Any chapter featuring Gajeel is great in my book. Hope he does end up with Panther Lily. And I feel bad for Wendy, even if it's the same scenario as what happened with Conis. As for the Erza scenario, I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it either. I definitely knew it was real Erza from the first shot.
The anime episode was also really good. I like Loke's voice as Leo better - sounds much cooler. I'm hoping his VA will use that voice, at least during his future battles.
Now for a perverted note. I'm disappointed to see that next episode they will be tuning down the Lucy tied up scene.

If Norio Wakamoto is the seiyuu I am thinking of who has played many badass guys, like Anderson from Hellsing as an example, then yes, it has to be. No one has the same voice he has.

You know, I don't know why I haven't noticed this before but, the FT Anime has some of the best music I have heard in an Anime in a while..
From the Opening to just the usual Irish sounding, fighting music I have got to say I really like it..

I still think Edo Tail is going to come inand play some sort of role. Sure there was a mention here that there was nobody left to fight… Well... So what? I think there's going to be a grand scheme one way or another. I just hope it's not a total waste.
The thing is, this portion of the arc seems very rushed(minus the beatdowns since I actually liked those). From the moment Grey started explianing things about swallowing from Mistgun, Lucy remembering swallowing(how the hell do you not mention this in the begining), Gazille suddenly shoved in the middle of the action, and more Mistgun doing more shit behind scenes... I dunno.
Those factors bought down the arc for me, though it's still mildly entertianing in some ways. Mistgun's "I'm mysterious, so make sure I remain mysterious" motto is a bit annoying. I mean, I'm sure whatever big scene or double page spread he's going to have won't do much impact anyway(like his and all of Gerald's).

I like the newest opening a lot but its not just that, its the daily episode-to-episode soundtrack that I like. The stuff you always hear like the happy music, the suspenseful one, the fighting track, ect..
But maybe its just me..

Rave was definitelly better paced but in some cases also rushed good examples of the rushing would be when shuda came to help haru and his gang out against the dude that replaced him (sorry can't remember his name) and during the blue guardian arc and during the final arc as well.

@ GEPPETTOSMONSTER : well I almost finished the BG arc . Was frustrated with how Reevil and Sean got taken out at the begining , though their fights weren't bad . But just as Reevil comes out and wants to fight Haru , he owns him in one panel .
My disapointment meter fell very low at that point . Plus Hardner's backstory is the exact same as King's to a T .
A positive side : while his initial design is godawfully bland…..those faces he makes . That cigar moment is realy priceless .
The guy's name is Deep Snow . And he was the blandest general and I realy hated his design . I also hated how Blank and Wada (who looked fucken awesome) got off paneled without ever doing anything .
That and....Lazenby needs more screentime dammit . He's the fuckin Falcon , show some respect man .

BG is still my one of my favorite arcs in rave along with the past arc, Final arc and the Doryu arc. King's backstory wasn't bad but I see as how that would be disappointing.

Just finished reading shuda vs deep snow I ask the question what happened to mashima? Seriously he needs to move the plot a little 'cause after so and so chapters we've yet to progress dragon slayer plot wise.

That fight is fucking awesome, because of that fight and the next arc which I believe to be the arc where haru, ellie and seig are sent to the past. Made me like shiba anymore. Before that though from chapter 1 shiba was boring to me.
