The Problem is, dythm is caught between a Rock and a hard place.
have the image Quality be better or lose Parts of the Frame in the Animation.
here's a Small sample of how much of the Screen is taken out
NOTE: the picture between the red lines is what's there in fullscreen, The whole image is the Widescreen Version
!
NOTE: This upcoming one has an ACTUAL spoiler in it
!
now, this is just the opening so there isnt Really anything important in those parts of the screen, and I dont have Raws of the same episode in both resolutions so this is all I could do. but there are scenes where Sanji or Usopp or [insert other character here] would be COMPLETELY cut out of the frame in the fullscreen Version, or something else as well
now, the DVD Rips (and the Non-WS TV Rips) are usually encoded at 640x480, the Widescreen TV rips are encoded at 704x396 meaning you gain width but you lose height, and the overall image is smaller by about 100 pixels. that Is where the Quality loss comes in.
if Toei Releases Widescreen DVDs then THEY can be ripped and encoded at 1280x720 wich is HUGE, even if you dont like Widescreen you'll like the image quality on these, I have the 267 Raw in that Res. if not then I guess K-F will either do DVD rip only or The Nice sounding (but Probabily hard to do) option of doung a dual release that dythm is thinking of. until they get to 261 in which the True HD episodes are availible.
this also catches me between a rock and a Hard place since I love K-F's Quality in their Releases but at the same Time I'm not ignorant. I know the Benefeits of the Widescreen format and I like them, Watching Fullscreen for me is agonizing because I know Im missing something.
