Is anyone else besides me actually still playing this game?
If anyone is, I'm suprised XD
One Piece: Grand Adventure
-
-
I would, but I lost the damn copy.. I almost thought I found it, turns out it was Fighting for One Piece (haven't played imports in ages, in fact I can't anymore, dont ask)
Stupid box-art fooled me.. I really actually loved that game, aside from the voice and 4kids edits.
-
Is anyone else besides me actually still playing this game?
If anyone is, I'm suprised XDi am at times.. still missing 3 people in game
-
I'll probably play it again someday. It was definitely an enjoyable game and I'm pretty happy that I got it before it became almost impossible to purchase. Fun game.
-
Well i burned Grand Battle 3 a while back and played it for a few hurs but i could not find it in myself to play it again it got boring really fast
-
I still play it for the exclusive characters but I really dislike the stat-based gameplay.
"Hey, let's make a really good AI for the hardest opponents of the game!"
"Hey, let's not, instead, the hardest opponents will have 5 times your health, their hits will make 5 times more damage than yours, etc…" -
I played it yesterday.
Eneru is a bitch to fight with max stats.
"Jamboule!"
"El Thor spam!"
"Jamboule!"
"El Thor spam!"
"Amal!"
Fucking bastard. -
Poor game i played all type of one piece games like this one One Piece grand battle, grand adventure, grand battle 2,3; they all sux its like little chibi zoro, luffy and everyone hitting eachother not fun at all ;S
-
Every time I go to this site I get filled with rage.
All the characters they have rendered…
And the new one... KDHFGSDKGSKDFDHSGKJ!!!!!!!
-
Atleast it's just a lame-ass card game, but it'd be fucking sweet if wed have another grand battle with more characters, like in that game.
-
Yeah that will be sweet to see luffy with gear 3 and gear 2 in that game i will change my mind for that game for sure !
-
I have a question. Is there any way to raise the Speed stat? I half wanted a blazing-fast Nami when I found out you could raise your stats, but there isn't a Speed option. Perhaps one of the other options indirectly boosts Speed?
Also, anyone else having a hell of a time levelling Vivi in luffy's Story? She's utter batshit.

Gotta give it up for 4kids. They make awful dubs, but they sure know how to make characters accurate in video games.
-
Um… 4kids didn't make the game...
So I was playing Rumble Battle earlier and Chaka appears but who is he support character to? Vivi only has Karoo to my knowledge ...
-
Vivi actually has Karoo, Chaka and Pell assigned to her.
Vivi is indeed one of the hardest to level up. I tend to abuse her support, as Karoo, Chaka and Pell are all pretty good support characters, and try to stay long distance, chipping away with peacock string slasher. In my experience(yours may vary here), but I levelled her up against Robin whilst staying on the run/attack in the air.
I also always increase the size of my slasher wheel before fighting. Not sure if it increases her power, but it does help with her aeriel slasher attack. -
How do you unlock Chaka and Pell? My support list for Vivi only has Karoo
-
i think u unlock them in the story mode then you have to use them three times in the story mode
-
Um… 4kids didn't make the game...
Uuuuuh, yeah they did. Or pretty much funded it. Yeah, they simply tweaked a Japanese game, but they still changed a lot.
-
Goddamn it. I want a nextgen sequel.
-
Must have… PS3 sequel...
-
I am disappointed that the SD-Fighters seem to be done with. Tons of people complained there was no real OP games with normal proportioned characters, well they should be happy now.
I still hope that FUNi will port or release an updated Rush (which I really wanna play) or something. It CAN happen, I mean, DBZ was so popular they decided to release Ultimate Battle 22 for the Playstation 1 in 2004, long after the PS1 was discontinued. And that game really sucks, too!
But… that was DBZ.
-
Or just make a completely new Grand Battle. I mean, they made Ultimate Ninja Storm, why not a One Piece game in a similar vein with Grand Battle gameplay?

I need to stop bumping old threads.

Is it me, or is Kuina almost unplayable?
-
So, I was playing around on Grand Adventure just now, and started my Buggy save (which is stuck in Alabasta) and when it asks to Continue Adventure, I selected no. (I was bored, and wanted to go back and listen to everyone's selecion saying. (i.e. Buggy's "Alright men, time to set sail!") Instead of going back to the Crew Selection screen, it starts over the Buggy story FROM THE BEGINNING, with my levels from my original save AND the ability to still get stat bonusses from the Bonus Conditions. Theoretically, one could max every character's stats WITHOUT the Pirate Panic trick I had read about (something complicated about not saving and stuff). Now, I am wondering, how many people were aware of the ability to restart the Story? Up until five minutes ago (and according to a guide on GameFAQs), I thought once you start a story, you can't restart it. However, it is possible to replay the story, get full experience from previous battles AND max stats without doing a complex cheat. :)

OK guys, sorry for necroposting for my first post on this board, but I've got a question about this game: how do I unlock the 2nd card set ? (Passage to the Grand Line) I've looked everywhere on the internet, but can't find any answer except having to unlock all the support characters which I already did. I miss 3 cards on the first set.
Any answers? Thanks !
-
No idea and I checked Gamefaqs. No answer. But I couldn't figure out it either. Y'know, I'm thinking of getting this game again. I only traded it in because I couldn't stand the 4kids voices. But that was because I was so hyped up in the uncut DVDs, I started to really loathe 4kids. In retrospect, it was only Robin, Sanji, Chopper, and Luffy that bugged me.
-
Play through Arena mode (I think; its the one where you fight five opponents) on the highest difficulty, which I'm pretty sure is guaranteed to get you cards if you win (and I think there are certain cards that you can only get if you get Rank #1. I'd suggest Chopper with spamming his Heavy Point dropping attack in midair, which worked well for me). Once you complete the first set, you should be able to get the second. (I'm pretty sure this is the case, anyways; this is mostly from what I can remember, so I can't vouch for its accuracy, but it sounds right)
-
Dammit, I want this game!!!
-
Anybody else find Don Krieg to be downright broken?
I've bean beating Pirate Panic, starting with a ~Lv. 25 Krieg. Lv. 40 Mihawk was a joke. The only character I find difficult to beat with the Don is Usopp >_<
-
Dunno. I spammed Arlong to level 100, leaving the rest of the party at like 60 and less.
-
Don Krieg's long-raged front attack (Nail Shooter, I believe, not the Super move though) can be spammed. Although it's almost ineffective against humans, it's easy to keep CPUs locked in it for extended periods of time. :)
Also, I found Arlong quite weak :\
-
i never was able to defeat zeff in the Smoker or Mr.0 story mode
-
With Smoker, use either the mid-air attack or the special where he turns into smoke, along with his extended smoke punch (I have a terrible memory for attack names). With Crocodile, use his poisonous hook (taunt to gain access to it), which should help greatly in defeating most enemies (aside from Rumble Battles), along with the mid-air attack where he creates a tornado of sand, since it leaves the enemy wide-open to attacks while they're being hit by it.
-
Dammit, I want this game!!!
EFF'LOL!!! I thought this was the Unlimited Adventure thread. Not only would I not say "Dammit, I want this game!!!" about 4kids spawn, but I actually OWN this game already and have for a good long while.
Oh, silly me.
-
Any tips for the Ussop battle in Jaya on Buggy's mode?
-
I find that using Ace, jumping, and pressing the attack button that makes him shoot out a stream of fire (can't remember which one it is on Gamecube or PS2) works best.
If I recall correctly, all of the Usopp Pirates are summoned at the start of the fight - Pepper (jumping) is the highest priority to take out in my opinion (seeing as he's the only one of the helpers who can hit you while you're in the air), then Onion (being confused is the last thing you want to happen to you when Carrot is so fast), and finally Carrot (he's fast, but has a really short range and can't hit you when you're in the air).
Most of the time, Carrot and Usopp will usually follow you around, meaning that when you attack, you may hit them as well. Try to level up Ace's HP and Defence (and maybe Support; I think that also effects the amount of damage you take from support characters), as Usopp's supporters do a lot of damage.
-
Thanks a bunch! So far getting 100% in Buggy's mode has been hellish…
-
Buggy's mode is 100%! The ending was really lame though. Croc's mode is next…Anything hard about that one?
-
Don't think so; Shanks is pretty hard, but spamming Crocodile's poison hook (get it by taunting) and mid-air tornado attacks make it easier. Also, there are certain points in the game where you can choose between Straw Hats and arc villains for your crew - ex. you can get Nami or Arlong, Sanji or Krieg, Chopper or Wapol, and Usopp or Kuro, so pick carefully and choose which one you're better with. Also, you can unlock Ohm and Eneru before beating the story mode, so make sure to get them, as they make it easier and can only be unlocked through this mode.
After that, it's Smoker's story mode (unlocking Kuina is really annoying, given how weak she is; Smoker and Zeff are much easier), where the only tough part that I can remember is how few characters you can choose between (five in total, plus one temporary playable character).
For the last story, you can pick from any character in the game, but all of the opponents have high levels (ex. the first opponent of the game is a Mihawk whose level is somewhere in the fifties or higher and automatically summons two Greatest Impacts (his exclusive support character), and it gets much harder from there), so pick characters that you're really good with.
-
WOW thanks a bunch!
-
No problem. I tried playing through it myself recently, so a lot of the stuff's still fresh in my mind. Hard to believe this topic's still getting replies after almost four years…
-
Haha, I know!
16 characters -
Whats everyone's favorite characters to use? Mine are Ace, Zoro, Zeff, and Kuina.
-
I've been playing the Hell out of this game for the last few weeks… It's quite fun, though I never play it with the sound on!
Shanks, Crocodile, Luffy and Sanji are my favorites to use. My Crocodile is almost level 50, and his attack power makes all opponents look like babies!
-
God damn.
There really needs to be a new Grand Battle (with characters from recent arcs in the manga).
Last time there was a One Piece game in the States was One Piece: Unlimited Adventure, which was over two years ago :\
With the speedup of the series here in the US, you'd think we'd get a new game too.
-
how do you earn extra support characters?
I know im missing Smoker and Kuina in mains, but missing 4-5 of them in slash type and 1 in area ( only have chessmarimo,Mr.4 and Satori)NOTE: Just introduced this game to a friend a few weeks ago and already this game is popular for us.
and getting a few of the missing outfits is hard D:
-
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But is if for Gamecube!? IT BETTER BE FOR GAMECUBE!
Interesting. But I'm more interested about the Japanese version. One better exist, because I'll be pissed if I have to play as Trace and not Ace or if I can't play as Foxy.
However, looks like Wapol finally got back into the roster!! Yes!! I used to play as him non-stop in Gran d Battle 2!
-
Hey, just bought this game used. It's awesome! I don't have instructions though, so two quick questions.
How do you:
- Taunt?
- Do the "Accel-Heat" thing?
EDIT:
Another question. I just unlocked Usopp's mode. First fight is Mihawk at Lvl.40?! What is the trick to gaining experience after you beat the other four captain stories? Re-doing battles gets you hardly anything.
