Yes, it is true..today, I managed to get myself ridiculously lost in a dense wood for two hours, miles from anywhere…
I had a college lesson at 3pm but I left the house to get some breakfast at 11am. Only problem is that I forgot my keys and ended being locked out my place.
i had four hours to kill and only a tenner (£10) to help pass the time. For some bizarre reason I decided to get a train ticket and ride the rails for a bit, I got on the train and went along for 20 minutes. I then decided I was hungry again and got off the train to find a shop.
The station I got off at, was in the middle of a housing estate, one that I've never visited before. I tried to find my way out of the maze of houses which took about 20 minutes. After I found some shops I thought I'd try to get back to the station by doing a circle around the estate again..BIG MISTAKE
I ended up lost in the houses again, untill I decided to go down a very muddy public footpath that went through some woods, no big deal I thought . That's when it all went wrong. I completly lost all my bearings and wandered around trying to find my way out, coming accross very poorly built roads and the odd 'Blair witch' type house on occasion. I also saw random people walking dogs, one of whom was behind me for a minute or two, then suddenly disappered, I started to run at that point, almost falling in the mud several times.
It was almost two hours until I found the station, almost by chance. I have never been so happy to see a train station before in my life. I feel asleep on the platform and then got the next train to get to my college and do a two hour lesson, with mud covered jeans and a banging headache.
I must have walked 5-10 miles!
Moral of the story : Never get off at a station that you have no fucking idea where it is!:ninja:
