@e1n:
ocean told me about this and was wondering if oda had made a mistake and instead put jyabura's akuma no mi model.
No, I take that statement back. I totally forgot about Chaka back then. Pell was too good.

@Cap'n:
Ever notice how most of Luffy's major fights take place in phases?
Luffy's passed phase one, hopefull the fight against Lucci doesn't take as long
Yeah, Chaka didn't really do much except stand around, talk, and futilely resist the villain of the arc. He was like the Kamakiri to Pell's Wiper.
Though, Chaka's attack on Crocodile prompted one of my favorite quotes in the series, when Crocodile is standing with a bloody claw over Chaka's shredded body.
"BEING WEAK… IS A SIN."

Chaka.
Eh, I was responding to the earlier post of who the Jackal user was.
Well, for those who don't remember, Miss MerryChristmas explains to Usopp how an object eats a devils fruit…kinda...

As for Sanji pointing a gun at Miss All-Sunday even though she was a beautiful girl, he didn't see her face yet. When he did, he got that dorky heart look in his eye.

So I too can't wait to see how Sanji deals with fighting Calipha. I don't like the idea of him convincing her to join the crew. I can see it now…
Sanji: I could never bring myself to harm such a lovely lady...
Calipha: That's sexual harrasment.
Sanji:such rejection...I need a smoke...
Calipha: That's sexual harrasment too.
Is it just me, or has Robin's nose gotten bigger since then? It's like Oda is making it grow…
I go away for one day & this thing gets boosted with 25 pages?!?!?1
Anyway, haven't u guys noticed this-
Luffy vs. Lucci (Zoan)
Sogeking vs. Jyabura (Zoan)
Both of those CP9 use DF that increase the powers of their fighting style, so it's possible that Sogeking will become one step closer to being stronger as at least Zoro, then again this is just my speculation.
Though seriously, Sanji vs. Califa was my worst case scenario for Sanji.
@Onigumu- LOL
about chopper not having somebody to fight. i think chopper took the initiative and went after lucci and spandam. i think chopper will probably catch up to them and then spandam will tell lucci to take care of chopper while he goes on ahead. i think chopper will probably get his ass kicked but will put up a good fight maybe weaken lucci enough so that luffy has a chance to beat him. after this i'm guessing chopper will go after spandam after luffy arrives at the scene and then fights spandam being really hurt. even though spandam has the sword i doubt it give's him that much power considering it's just an elephant sword.
You guys forgot Chaka? Insanity.
I'll be glad if Jabman has the kinda fruit he's slated to have. Not everything has to be some funky suprise.
@Fire Fist:
Is it just me, or has Robin's nose gotten bigger since then? It's like Oda is making it grow…
it isn't just robin. nami's nose also seem to experience a sudden growth spurt at some angles. XD
ok, im lookin at the coverstory… so why is mr. 4 wearing the seastone cuffs? i httought it was his gun dog that had DF powers...
Maybe they're just regular cuffs.
From what MeriKuri said, that making objects 'eat' a fruit is a new technology of the Grand Line, I'm inclined to believe it isn't as simple as letting juices fall on an object. Otherwise, I'd have to say the people in the other seas are mentally deficient for not figuring that out.
i think for the sanji vs califa fight. maybe califa will have some devil fruit power that will make her less appealing and therefore sanji will be able to fight her. although that might be to similar to his fight with uh… whats his name swan-guy=p
Or maybe ALL of the handcuffs are made of seastone, because it's so strong.
doesn't that make you wonder? if seastone is stronger than diamond and cannot be cut, how the hell did they cut it to make the cuffs in the first place? i highly doubt that they're already in the form of cuffs the first time they found the stone. that'd be too convenient.
They have seastone cutters. There's always a stronger element….right? :)

Well, diamond is the strongest mineral in the world, how do they cut it for jewelry/machinery?
Don't they just use diamonds on diamonds or something?
Yup, only diamond can cut diamond in this world.
Think about it this way, if u have a round shaped raw diamond, u can use a diamond with sharp edges to cut it.
What I'm wondering is how to they harvest seastones to make the jails? The jailbars take up lots of seastones.
Maybe they only need to coat the iron bars?
Maybe it can be melted and molded.
Couldnt they break the lock of the cuff, i mean the lock cant be seastone itself. A lock is composed of mechnical triggers, it cant be all seastone, can it?
The Marines must've used the "lasers" from the Buster Call to cut & shape the seastone.
See thats why they need a locksmith in their group, they would never been in this situation. I wonder if they're ever going to get a hideout
There's also the option of lock picking. Though there's no guarantee that'll work Nami could probably do it.
EDIT: I see Ashen already beat me to it.
Anyway, is it me or was Fukurou using Geppo a lot during his chat with the Straw Hats? Or was he just climing the wall, not sure.
Maybe they froze it and broke it.. anything frozen is breakable rite??
Anyway, is it me or was Fukurou using Geppo a lot during his chat with the Straw Hats? Or was he just climing the wall, not sure.
It looked like he was kicking the air in very short bursts to sort of levitate. So yeh, it was like a modified geppou.
Maybe they froze it and broke it.. anything frozen is breakable rite??
Anything can be broken, as long as there is enough force..
On the other hand, how do you know seastone can be frozen easily?
I dont know.. how do you know its hard to freeze it?? lol
But maybe it could be at the rite pressure and temperature..
I was actually thinking of Ao Kiji freezing the seastone so that its easily broken.. but now i remembered its SEASTONE… so it wont work
Techinically, stone is already frozen.
Well first we'd have to know how seastone exists in the world of OP if we want to daebate how they're making all the things from it. And we don't know that and probably n ever will so accept the seastone thingies as part of OP world that just doesn't need explaining.
I will just say, that it would be a perfect challenge for zorro, why bothering cuting diamond, when it exist more difficult to cut :o
In fact, there a several possibilities to get them unlocked:
Key
Nami
Zorro
Aokiji (even if it is seastone he could freeze it if he don t touch it, i guess but i am not sure ..)
the lock doesnt seem to be a hard one to pick
besides they have an alternative
Robin can be miss all sunday again and find Mr 3
For the scanlators, ect.

thanks for that :o)
There is one way that the Strawhats could get the lock off even if they can't get the key or Zoro can't cut it. But I'd rather they didn't use the method.
If they can't cut the lock they can cut Robins hands off.
I really don't want to see that happen.
Thanks, Battle Franky!
With this higher quality, I can properly inspect Jabura's room… and yes, that IS the kanji for wolf, which looks like this: 狼.
I love how it looks like its in an emblem is the style of the Kame-school, Crane-school, Piccolo Daimao and Tao Pai Pai's emblems from Dragonball.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v453/Phlemingo/924d16b8.jpg
Okayy. I have no idea how that reads in Japanese, but I know for a fact that's the Kanji for "wolf". Wonder what it's doing in Jyabura's room.
We figured this out already ;)
BTW, it's "ookami".
If they can't cut the lock they can cut Robins hands off.
What a good idea !!!
I had though about it, but it could make it, especially with her DF :o She may be able to get new hand after that :o
It could work….
No it doesn't work that way
No it doesn't work that way
excuse me, but could you argue a little bit…..
I gave an idea, you looks like you know a lot more than me.... so explain....
I must be stupid for giving that idea :|
All apologies for people, but i have got nothing to say about the chapter, i was just a little bored, so i have take the time to respond to an impolite guy :o
Cut her hands off? Never!!!
The result of this may be, that she will loose the ability of growing any hands. I think, she can only create body parts, that she has.
And cutting her hands off wouldn't be One Piece Style at all.
We figured this out already ;)
BTW, it's "ookami".
Yep ><
It helps to know Chinese. I read the word as "lang", as in "lung", btw. Japanese language has alot of syllables!
Agreed. I'd much rather Luffy went looking for a Locksmith than they resort to this method. Though if it's a clean cut, Chopper might be able to reattach the limbs.
Robin can't just grow new limbs to replace old ones because those hands are only around for a limited amount of time(I think) and the thought of seeing a handless robin really bothers me. I also thinking oda would have a more creative way of dealing with the hand cuffs then just chopping her hands off. I'm sorry if I bothered you I was just trying to state my opinion even though it was rather blunt maybe I should add a happy face to this post
In all honesty, I'd be a little embarassed if former pirate-theif Nami didn't know how to pick a lock…
wow, it went from, "robin just tell me you want to live" to "we have to cut your hands off" ouch :)
Why couldn't they all follow lucchi and spamdam, beat the shit out of lucchi and choke the key out of spamdam. It not like the CP9 are trust bunch of people, i mean they lie about their motives to their so called friends for 4+ years and now they might have the only key to your friends cuffs.
Why couldn't they all follow lucchi and spamdam, beat the shit out of lucchi and choke the key out of spamdam.
Fukuro threatened to throw his key into the ocean. Sure, they could've called his bluff, but still that's too risky. Might aswell get rid of CP9 and save Robin, all in one go.
Given that Chopper is last seen on p. 14 of the chapter running into the halls with the rest of the Strawhats, I think he is most likely to join in a battle with people other than Luffy or conduct a search of the area (possibly for the "real" key to the handcuffs in case CP9 tricked them as a way to buy time to call in reinforcements or put Robin behind the "Gate of Justice"….whatever that will do). Am I correct in stating that the Gate of Justice leads to Impel Down? I think the Luffy vs. Lucci fight would be particularly cool if it was done in Impel Down. Oda alluded to the place being a jail for particularly evil criminals, so they would have front row seats to a battle between their captor(s) (Lucci and Spandam) and their "savior" (Luffy).
On the matter of the handcuffs, it seems like the key will do the job as opposed to Zoro's sword or Nami's lockpicking skills. I personally think that Robin's powers would be made useless if her hands were cut off to remove the handcuffs. She replicates copies of her hands when she uses her powers. I assume that is the reason she can feel what happens to those hands even though they are not the ones connected to her body. As a result, I don't think that she could replicate hands that are no longer present on her body.
Speaking of replication, I think it would be neat if Califa ate a replication devil's fruit. I realize it sounds like a Naruto jutsu, but hear me out on this idea. Not only would Sanji have to deal with a bevy of beautiful secretaries, but, he can also bend his code and attack the replicates. It would also make for more hysteria if Califa does fall for Sanji (she's smiling when she first sees him on the last page of the chapter...she didn't even smile when Iceburg woke up from his coma). The chase I mentioned before wouldn't be limited to just a super-powered Califa, but a fan-girl army of one chasing Sanji all around the building!
Currently, I don't really like the idea of Califa joining the crew, but she would certainly serve a purpose for the crew. With her experience as a secretary and her devil fruit powers, she could become a perfect messenger for the Strawhat crew (similar to Lafitte in Blackbeard's crew). I would imagine her offering tea to some trashy pirates and trying to conduct business with them before calling "sexual harrassment" and beating them to a pulp.
Last, but not least, Jyabura is defintely a Oda's tribute to Tao Pai Pai. The pony tail and facial hair (minus the goatee) seem so perfect. The sunglasses sort of look like Tao's cyborg eyes too. Usopp better watch out for his tongue! He may be better off letting sleeping dogs/wolves lie.
