Just got back from seeing the Eternals. It was an overall good time. The movie starts off slow, but by the middle I was pretty invested.
! I see now why the trailers were pretty vague about the story since the mystery of what the Eternals actually are plays a big part in the story. And once they do reveal the truth behind the Eternals, I think that's when the story started to pick up for me.
! The characters are a bit hit-and-miss. Kingo and Phastos really stood out as fun characters, but Sersi was kind of dull as a lead character. But Kudos to the movie for taking this big cast of characters and making most of them sympathetic and/or having some interesting facet about them. And I was genuinely bummed when Gil died partway through.
! The credits scenes were cool, I guess, though I'm not really familiar with the characters who were revealed. Guess we'll see what they do with them later on.
! So yeah, I think this movie definitely deserves better than its…checks Rotten Tomatoes...47 PERCENT?! Oh yeah, it deserves WAY better than that. This was definitely better than Incredible Hulk or Thor the Dark World.
